1/ I am writing this short thread to beg @pressfreedom to count Hassan Hamad (حسن حمد) as a journalist.
Israel just murdered him in his home. Here are 3 examples of his journalism. Let us know if you need more. Please don't erase his life work @CPJMENA.
2/ If it weren't for Hassan's journalism we would not know about Israel striking the food stores for displaced people at Namaa College in Al-Saftawi area of Gaza City, Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, on 3 September.
3/ We would not know of the slaughtered children at the Abu Nada family home in the Al-Huja Street in Jabaliya camp on 30 Aug.
1/ Let's keep talking about @pressfreedom mass-deleting records of journalists that Israel killed, based on the claim that they aren’t real journalists.
Today we honor Mohammed Ghanem Tawfiq al-Jaja | محمد الجاجة, killed 5 Nov 2023 & erased from @CPJMENA’s database 3 days ago.
2/ Background: We’re exposing CPJ for mass-deleting Palestinian journalists from their database just before they release their annual “Impunity Index.”
3/ CPJ is justifying the removal of Mohammed al-Jaja
from the list of killed journalists as part of their ongoing coverup of the largest journalist murder-spree in human history.
They’re claiming Mohamed was “found not to be a journalist or media worker.”
3/ CPJ is justifying the removal of Mohamed Fayez Abu Motar from the list of killed journalists as part of their ongoing coverup of the largest journalist murder-spree in human history.
They’re claiming Mohamed was “FOUND NOT TO BE a journalist.” (emphasis added)
1/ The Committee to Protect (some) Journalists is DELETING records of Palestinian journalists from their database, as part of the coverup.
2/ We realized CPJ was attempting an audacious cover-up of Israel’s mass-murder spree when CPJ refused to label it “murder” when Israel targets a journalist in their home, which Israel famously has a policy of doing.
