1/ There are 3 Christian churches in Gaza: Catholic, Anglican/Baptist, and Orthodox.

All 3 are located in northern Gaza, meaning Israel isn't currently allowing Christins in southern Gaza access to churches, as you can see on this @gazamaps map of the IDF designated kill zone. Image 2/ All 3 churches have been attacked by Israel.

This is the (stunning) Church of Saint Porphyrius, which Israel has bombed multiple times. It is the largest church in Gaza.

This church was built in the year 1160, making it more than 10 times older than the state of Israel. Image

1/ Let's talk about this AI startup attempting to "restore the Jewish people's grip on the truth."

First off, the whole software project appears to be some second-rate version of @newscord_org, with a lot of publicity and lawyers attached. 2/ NewsCord's software highlights contradictions, omissions, and differences in tone across various outlets. The results are what the results are, not a manipulated report. There might be some AI bias, but the results are not predetermined.

1/ A note on Israel killing the family members of journalists.

Today Israel murdered the photojournalist Fatma Hassouna, along with 10 of her family members in Gaza City. Image 2/ Our database honors these family members in multiple ways.

It is painful to reduce their lives to numbers, but we lack the resources to research each family member martyred. I wish we could do more. Image

Gaza Maps is our forced displacement archive website. We also create original maps, based on the IDF maps. Image 2/ We now have some current statistics up top. If you can think of better stats, or clearer text, please let us know. Image

1/ For Israel: "Is it a war crime? I don't know: I'm not an international lawyer."

For Syria: "In war crime, Syria deliberately..." Image For Russia: "That's a war crime."

1/ What we know about this morning's press tent massacre so far.

As of this writing the death toll is: 2 murdered and 8 injured. At least 2 of the injured were critically injured. 2/ Around 2:45 am, Israel directly targeted the clearly-marked press tents next to the Nasser Medical Complex compound with an airstrike.

Increasingly the occupation is using "side by side" utility vehicles. We have seen both Polaris and Can Am used by the IDF, and now we are seeing the start of a program for settlers.

These settlers are being given Polaris Rangers. In Gaza, the IDF uses more high-end versions of these vehicles in conjunction with Israel's devastated terrain method of warfare.

These vehicles can't carry much weight & lack armor, but handles devastated terrain better than trucks or armored vehicles.

Like most Israelis, the journalist Yehuda Schlesinger takes deep offense to Palestinians living like human beings.

What are his dreams and hopes for Gaza?

1/ New audio of the IDF attempting to recruit a collaborator.

There is no English translation yet, but we will summarize in this thread. 2/ The person targeted, Mustafa Jamal Abu Sidou, is a journalist and runs a charity called "Life Volunteering Team" that serves the people of southern Gaza.

Here is a link to the charity's Facebook page: web.facebook.com/p/%D9%81%D8%B1…Image

1/ The Brown Study, primarily focused on Israel murdering journalists in Gaza relied on two sources:

The headline number of 232 is of course not CPJ. Image 2/ The data used in the study starts 7 Oct 2023 and ends 26 March 2023. Image

This is the Sec. General of Amnesty International, during a genocide and the potential end of humanitarian law. During the genocide she "condemned" Russia, Iran, Hamas, and and a machinery company on this website.

Amnesty did not conclude Israel was committing genocide until over a year in to the mass extermination.

Now they are "investigating" Hamas. Image

1/5 - Here is the location of the killings on top of the "evacuation" order Israel issued the morning they were killed.

The "evacuation" order was posted ~2 hours after the murders.

Geolocation by the talented @AbuLocation (not affiliated), map from our own @gazamaps. Image 2/5 - This leaflet (human translated by ) was dropped in the middle of the night, and is -- to our knowledge -- the only "evacuation" order issued before the killings, which began at dawn.

It is spectacularly unlikely any of the rescue workers saw it. IDFLeaflets.comUrgent warning! To all of those who are in the Tal Sultan area, the Israeli Defense Forces started an attack to destroy terrorist organizations, you are in a dangerous combat zone. Gush Katif street is considered a humanitarian corridor available for you to move to the Al Mawasi zone. We warn you that moving in cars is prohibited. You remaining in undesignated shelters, tents and houses or moving through other undesignated streets will endanger your families’ lives and yours. Vacate the premises now The Israeli Defense Forces

1/4 - Hallel Bitton Rosen (an Israeli military correspondent for Now 14) portrayed a couple medical evacuations as if they were the "voluntary migration" ethnic cleansing plan. Image 2/ The Italy flight (actually 2 flights) was 18 Palestinian children, most of whom are cancer patients.

1/ Remember the actually honest AP article on the pogrom in Jinba? Honesty in western media is rare.

We can't confidently link it to the article, but here is something else rare: the Ofer Military Court said the Palestinians might have been acting in self defense. Image 2/ When the article was first published, we mostly complimented the article but took exception to the idea that detailed video evidence of pogroms in the West Bank is rare.

1/ How many human shield "slaves" does the IDF keep?

According to Haaretz's source, an unnamed "senior officer in a non-reservist brigade" who served in Gaza there are *at least* 36 slave human-shields per brigade. Image 2/ There are 7 active duty infantry brigades. Removing the "training" brigade, we have:

At a *minimum* ("at least 36 per brigade") that means there are 192 human shield "slaves" kept by active duty infantry brigades.

6 * 36 = 216 Image
