"Coffee's for closers" ☕️

How does a closed-down café in Sallynoggin manage to make €50,000,000 a year from refugees centres?

Irish Govt contracts are brewing........🧵
Faith Loves Irony

Last week Roderic O'Gorman published an update on the controversial plans for Thornton Hall.

The site was supposed to be turned into a super-prison but now it will become the largest refugee camp in the country...Image
1000 Single Men

O'Gorman confirmed the site would be for 1000 single adult men only & that staff will be present 24/7.Image
Military Tents

1000 men will live in "high-performance" tents. But the end goal is to provide modular units. 🤑

Security fencing will also be erected around the perimeter.Image
Development Contractor 👷🏼‍♂️

This is where things get interesting...

O'Gorman confirmed that a company called "IEMS" had been awarded the overall development contract for the project.

WHO !!?? 😳Image
Unknown Entity

IEMS = IGO Emergency Management Services

Since 2022 this company has already been paid €33,200,000 for providing services to IPAS centres across the country.Image
Purchase Orders - Q2 2024

According to the latest quarterly figures, IEMS was paid €13,373,000 across 11 different transaction in just 3 months.

This means they are now on track to be paid over €50,000,000 in a single year !!Image
Who are IEMS??

Amazingly "IGO Emergency Management Services" isn't even a registered company.

Its just a business name created in August '23.Image
Small Café in Sallynoggin 🚨 🚨

The company behind IEMS is actually IGO Café Limited. 🤯

The café is based in Sallynoggin & was set-up in 2017 by Ann Murphy and Cristina Andries - its two directors.Image
Chef's Menu

Its a pity IGO Café is no longer open, the menu looks decent... 😋

Beef lasagna - €7.95
Breakfast box for 4 - €32.99
Chicken curry with rice - €8.00
Christening cupcakes - €28.00
Unicorn cupcakes w/ vanilla & lemon frosting €28.00Image

Savvy Businesswomen 👩🏼‍💼

In 2023 the two directors of IGO Café Limited, Ann Murphy and Cristina Andries, were paid €1,241,294

This makes them some of the highest earning directors in the State!

Congrats to them 🍾Image
Entrepreneurs of the Year?

Ann Murphy and Cristina Andries surely deserve an award! 🥇

Since founding their company '17, they have gone from 0 to €50m !! 📈

What an incredible Irish business success story... @davidmcw or @EOYIreland should have them on!Image
Online Activity 💻

Luckily for us, Igo Café has its own X account !! @ISallynoggin

€50,000,000 in revenues but only 37 followers .... : (

😢Image
Devoted Followers

What is interesting is that of the 37 followers two happen to be

Green Party Govt. Minister @smytho &
Fianna Fail Chief Whip @CormacDevlin

Both obviously have a keen eye for a good sambo!Image
Big Supporters

It looks like IGO Cafe are big fans of Fianna Fail TD Cormac Devlin... constantly re-tweeting and liking his posts.

Great to see democracy in action! 🤓Image
Image
Image
Friends in High Places

@robertburns73 is also a BIG fan of Igo Cafe! 🤩

He just happened to stop-by one day and tweet this out...Image
Who is Robert Burns?

Burns has an impressive track-record serving as a director on both Dun Laoighre Rathdown & Fingal County Council (Thornton Hall is in Fingal)

He is now the CEO of Monaghan CoCo...

Igo Cafe should open a spot there too !! 💡Image
Who are Ann Murphy & Cristina Andries ?

Its a pity Ireland's best female entrepreneurs are media shy....

On LinkedIn, Cristina confirms she set up a separate company in 2021 to provide security services for clients in the Baltic States. 🇪🇪 🇱🇻 🇱🇹Image
Keen Interest in Local Politics

Cristina also likes to share/comment on Cormac Devlin's & Ossain Smyth's content over on LinkedIn too.

Its great that such a successful business person has time to keep a keen eye on politics in her local area!Image

Image
Some Irregularities ? 🧐

"IGO Emergency Management Services" was not registered as a business until Sept 2023,

HOWEVER it began receiving payments from the Dept. since Aug 2022...

I'm sure this is just an admin error...nothing to worry about!Image
Questions & Opinions

Was Igo Cafe ever a real cafe?
Yes, it was.

Is anything here illegal?
No, nothing here is illegal. This is a typical Irish business success story... 😜 ! ! Getting tens of millions from State contracts, without any prior business history is a fine art. "They have done well" 👏🏻

Who else is involved?
Previous commentary online has suggested that the Cafe is also owned by other high profile names. But nothing I have seen directly links anyone else to this. 🤐

Opinion
Thornton Hall is an incredibly controversial site. It should have been developed into a much needed prison by now. The use of the site for a refugee camp for 1000 men is a major undertaking. Any company put in charge of that type of work should have gone through a rigorous procurement process .... which I see very little evidence of.

The fact that such a small cafe can flip into a mega State development agency literally overnight warrants a FULL INVESTIGATION.

It should be crystal clear by now that the entire Asylum System is not fit for purpose. The Govt are making it up as they go along at ENORMOUS expense to the tax payer and ENORMOUS social unrest to local residents.

The ONLY people winning here are politically connected business people being awarded these MEGA contracts.

I am calling for TOTAL Transparency. I want to know where every cent is being spent.

The fact that Ann Murphy and Cristina Andries paid themselves €1,300,000 last year is a an absolute DISGRACE.

TIME TO END THE CORRUPTION 🇮🇪

Remember the Govt’s White Paper to end Direct Provision? It promised asylum seekers their own front door.

The reality is that millions have been paid to an Isle of Man🇮🇲controlled company to buy up portfolios of houses for itself & lease them back to the State...🧵
Background

In 2021 Roderic O'Gorman launched a new strategy to end direct provision whereby asylum seekers would be given with their own houses.... Image

One company saw a major opportunity - "Dídean Dochas Eireann Teoranta"

They launched a lobbying campaign of top Ministers, TDs & Senior Civil Servants to set out their plan..

They even had a one on one with An Taoiseach Micheál Martin👀 Image

We need to talk about Burrow beach 🏖️

In 24 hours:

2 fire brigades 🧑‍🚒
5 ambulances 🚑
Coast guard &
Public Order Unit all on the scene.

Fighting, drinking, fires, gang rivalry.

No lifeguards, just thousands of teens

Three people stretched off.. one girl looked in particularly bad trouble.

Below is a thread of footage collected from social media…. 🧵

A GAA legend
Three All-Stars
Given his debut by Banty in ’07
Monaghans's best talent in a generation

But when his company scores ~€10million in State contracts he uses a different name....why so secret? 🤔

PART II...🧵
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Conor McManus is Monaghan GAA Royalty.
One of the best forwards to ever play the game.

Made his debut under Banty in '07 and played under him again from 2019 to 2022.

But it turns out he isn't just a key man on the pitch... Image
Image
Last month @thecurrency published a bombshell report detailing how "Dublin Homeless Region Executive"(DRHE) is paying hundreds of millions to private landlords for "emergency accommodation"

Banty tops the list with €50m along with other major players in the IPAS system. Image

Some are calling them the "Carrickmacross Cartel"
Others prefer "Monaghan Mafia"
But its all theatrics, for me its just "Banty’s Boys"

For the first time, I’m diving deep into the web of companies linking high-profile GAA stars to lucrative State contracts.

PART ONE...🧵
Its an old debate, should GAA stars be paid??
its well known they get "looked after" .

But some just have a natural talent for business…

Take Davy Burke, the youngest inter-county manager.
Turns out he’s doing even better off the pitch...Image
His company Grangelough has been paid over €2million in the last 2 years or in IPAS contracts. Image

Power Behind the Throne 👑

He organised Golfgate ⛳️
He controls votes, candidates & deals 🤝
He's the 2nd most powerful man in Fianna Fáil

He stood alongside Haughey, Reynolds, Bertie, Cowen & now Micheál.

Oh and he gets paid €5million in State Contracts for IPAS...🧵
Donie Cassidy is the Fianna Fáil fixer.

When the party needs money, hotels, venues or canvassers.... Donie PROVIDES. He knows where the bodies are buried.

In the room where decisions are made, he holds court.
Taoisigh come and go.
Donie endures.

Across ~50 years, Cassidy has led the Seanad, been a TD, fixed internal wars & handpicks candidates.

So it's only fitting that he now collects €5mill+ in State contracts....💸 Image

There’s a rift in Fine Gael
TDs are fighting over a tourist tax to raise €12mil.

Geoghegan, Ward & Ó Muirí want it
Senior ministers oppose it, but the offer no real alternative

So allow me to do their homework & provide a solution they are too gutless to find...🧵 Image
Image
The TOTAL BUDGET for Dublin's four local authorities is €2.4 billion. 💰

So raising €12 million is just 0.5% of that

Instead of fighting over a highly visible, controversial tourist tax...wouldn't a smarter move be to try save 0.5% elsewhere? Image
Lets just focus on Dublin City Council...

Its Total Budget is €1.5 billion
Breakdown:
– 36% = salaries
– 60% = services

We don't want to reduce anyones' salary, so the focus will be on cutting costs on services... Image
