Women are not small men!
A summary of the top key takeaways of this female (20-40y) centred training and longevity episode with Dr. Stacy Sims.
An extremely important episode as our voices (menstruating women) were significantly underrepresented in scientific research, until a task force was put together in the 1990's demanding that more research included us.
I added a couple of highlights from her website. Links to her blog at the end.
Intermittent fasting is not recommended for women and exercising fasted does not burn more fat. On the contrary, it increases stress and can put on in fight/fly mode: more anxious, insomnia, lose focus, harder to lose weight)
Do not training fasted. Consume at least 15g of protein prior to resistance training and add at least 30g of carbs prior to aerobic exercise.

Are you dealing with seasonal allergies?
Sneezing, itching, mucus building symptoms are right around the corner as soon as Spring/Fall sets in?
Here's my tips on how you can reduce symptoms by taking preventative measures right now.
A thread. 🧵
1 - Nutrition: Reduce Iron Fortification Intake.
Iron is added to all flour products since 40's.
Unrecycled iron in the tissues increases inflammation, contributes to gut dysbiosis and feeds pathogens like candida, parasites. This chronic inflammation will increase allergies.
2 - Nutrition: Reduce pesticides Intake.
Herbicides (glyphosate) are sprayed on produce, lawns (schools, parks, neighbour's land) as soon as the weather gets warm. This accumulation of chemicals inhaled/ingested by weak host has potential to increase leaky gut.
