This is @katy_milkman.

She has a PhD from Harvard, is a professor at Wharton, and has spent her life studying behavior change.

Here are 10 key lessons from her bestselling book "How To Change": Image
1) An ideal time to change your behavior is after a fresh start (new year, month, week, birthday, etc). Image
2) Making smaller and more frequent commitments is more effective than making larger but less frequent ones.

Saving $5 per day > Saving $1,825 per year Image
3) If you want to build a new habit, make sure to track it. Image
4) If you want something done well, use a checklist.

Surgeons who relied on a checklist decreased mortality rates by 35-45%. Image
5) If you want to build a new habit, combine it with a fun activity–this is called "Temptation Bundling."

Ex: People who could only listen to their audiobooks while working out exercised 55% more than the control group. Image
6) Giving people unsolicited advice can undermine their confidence. Image
7) Adopt a growth mindset–recognize that ability, including intelligence, is not fixed and that effort is what counts. Image
8) Link new habits to old ones to help them stick.

Ex: Read a book while enjoying your morning cup of coffee. Image
9) Everything from our grades to our careers to our financial decisions is shaped by our peers. Image
10) Your decisions are heavily influenced by your peer group so surround yourself with people who have similar goals to you. Image

This is @RyanHoliday.

He's written 10+ bestselling books and read 3,000+ books.

Here are 11 tips I learned from his "Read to Lead" course: Image
1) Start A Commonplace Book

It's not enough to read great books...

You need a place to store all of the interesting ideas, quotes, and lessons you discover.

That's what a commonplace book is for.

Jot down key information in a notebook so that you can use it later in life.
2) Calculate How Many Books You Have Left To Read

If you're 30 years old and read 10 books a year, that means you only have 500 books left to read in your lifetime.

BUT...that number is flexible.

If you spend more time reading now, you can end up reading so many more books!

This is the most mind-blowing book I've read this year.

It's written by an ex-Stanford doctor and ex-food lobbyist who expose the medical, food, and pharmaceutical industry.

12 Shocking lessons from "Good Energy" by @CaseyMeansMD & @calleymeans: Image
1) Some scary stats:

-60% of adults have a chronic illness
-50% of adults will deal with mental illness sometime in life
-74% of adults are overweight or obese Image
2) Every institution that impacts your health makes more money when you are sick and less when you are healthy. Image

I'm American.

I recently visited Dubai for the first time in my life.

I was stunned by the city.

10 things that surprised me the most: Image
1) Dubai's buildings are insane (in a good way).

I thought the buildings in NYC were impressive until I visited Dubai.

They have some of the most unique structures in the world, such as the largest frame building and tallest skyscraper...

all built in the middle of a desert. Image
2) Deserts are as beautiful as they are scary.

It's nothing but sand for miles and miles.

No trees or water.

Yet it's gorgeous to look at.

Riding ATVs in the desert and watching the sunset is a must-do life activity. Image
