Update: the chatter I’m getting now is that the “secret” is that Johnson simply won’t pass an Omnibus budget, which means the government is done. Federal employees, update your resumés now.

Whether this is practicable or not remains to be seen, but this is likely the deal Johnson has made to stay on as Speaker. This may lead to a CR of some kind, or other compromises, but expect no Omnibus and expect massive cuts. No one should be surprised when this goes down.

And if you think about it, what else would possibly be worth all of the effort and expense, if you weren’t planning a historic, world-upending impact on civilization? Makes that $44bn for Twitter seem pretty inconsequential now, eh?

And if you’re still worried about Project 2025, don’t be — it was basically campaign literature. Worry about Project Russia. With the WH and Congress, they can just blow everything up, and forget working inside the system. The system is over.
