Let me start today's news in #Sumy, because sadly the number of killed + injured after #Russia's strike have both increased.
An 11th person died during the night while 89 people required medical treatment. Medics, rescuers, psychologists and volunteers worked through the night.
All the areas in western #Ukraine which were without power yesterday have now had supplies restored.
#Sumy and #Odesa remain two large areas where most have no electricity.
#StandWithUkraine
#Russia attacked #Ukraine with two Iskander ballistic missiles last night and one Kh-59 guided missile, none of which could be intercepted.
None of the 11 drones hit target. 8 were shot down and 3 stopped by EW.
After having zero boats in the Black Sea for weeks, #Russia has quietly moved 2 missile-carrying warships back into the water to the south of #Ukraine.
They are carrying a total of 8 cruise missiles.
Now to #Russia's daily losses for the last 24 hours (#Ukraine figures).
1,560 more dead/wounded keeps up the November average. Even though there are only 30 days, it's well on course to be the bloodiest month for the invaders.
Indeed, it should break the record on 28 Nov.
So the USA finally lifted the incredibly harmful ban on using long range weapons in #Russia. But whether there is unrestricted use is not clear.
No Taurus from #Germany.. but Berlin will give #Ukraine new "Mini-Taurus" AI drones.
On his Telegram channel, President #Zelenskyy reacts to the latest tragedy.
The automated Google translation still uses the Russian spelling for #Odesa, and there is a misleading translation to "dozens" for a word which means "10s" - so to clarify, the number injured remains 18
Remember the usual. If you read something good about Russia, or bad about Ukraine, if it doesn't "smell" right, check who's publishing it. Check with other sources you know are reliable.
Some bad things do happen in 🇺🇦 but we will report them accurately.
#Ukraine has "scaled up" the manufacture of Neptune missiles.
Defence Minister @rustem_umerov announced the missile has been improved too, and they've already made 100 this year alone.
In #Odesa, photos have been released of the 7 police officers killed in #Russia's attack.
There's also the first picture from Odesa's Agricultural University which was hit by a falling missile, ripping through the roof.
In total 10 died and 55 were injured.
#StopRussia
#Ukraine's President went right to the hottest spot on the frontline today. Zelenskyy was in #Kupiansk, where one of #Russia's advanced groups made it all the way into the town.
Explosions in #Zaporizhzhia and half the city is without power again.
It therefore looks like another energy structure has been hit.
No official details yet.
It's just gone midnight in #Ukraine
That means it's the start of the 1,000th day of #Russia's full invasion. Every single day I've reported + analysed the war
I remember writing if Ukraine could get through the first 10 days they had a chance to survive!
Earlier #Russia hit #Zaporizhzhia with at least 10 Iran-made #Shahed UAVs.
Around 13,000 subscribers are estimated to be without power.
Just one new coffee arrived today - minutes ago, from @2ylan.
Also, the monthly sub from @Anna_Bowles came through today. Thanks to both of you for supporting my work.
The so-called 'president' of #Abkhazia has resigned.
At the weekend, Aslan Bzhania had said he would step down, but would likely stand again in the new election.
VP Bandra Gunba becomes acting president of the defacto #Russia-occupied part of #Georgia.
It's reported by locals that the bodies of a mother and a child have been recovered from under the rubble here in #Hlukhiv, 10km from the border with #Russia.
An attack drone caused the collapse of the front of a 5-storey building.
Elsewhere in #Ukraine there are 13 other drones, with 5 probably heading to #Kyiv.
As always, full update in the morning, see you then (although I plan to start the Day 1000 thread now and then sleep).
So good night and thanks for being part of #TeamTim

A very late start today - I apologise but it's Christmas time with things to do, places to go and also my body demanding enough sleep to survive!
So we start as usual with the throwback to yesterday for you to catch up, which included car bomb #2..
The seemingly random attack on police officers in Moscow last night, may have been a Ukraine targeted attack.
Two "traffic officers" died overnight on the same street where a Lt Gen was eliminated the day before.
Now it's reported the dead were in Ukraine and tortured civilians
This is the start of Tuesday's daily thread, with all the important news from, and relevant to, Ukraine in one handy place.
It's Day 1385 and I've still never missed a day of fact checking, analysing and reporting every aspect of the defence against Russia's illegal war.
Yesterday a lot of talking behind the scenes, but politicians were broadly tight-lipped on progress.
Russia did make more small gains on the frontline, but we also found a cat with burned whiskers + how Russian pilots' head-tennis went disastrously wrong
Pres Zelenskyy's whirlwind tour continues, arriving in Rome this morning to meet the Pope at Castle Gandolfo.
At Villa Barberini, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was welcomed by the vice-regent of the papal household, Augustinian Father Edward Daniang Daleng.
