A thread on Scientific miracles in Vedas and other Vedic Literature
First, let us explore the shape of the Earth as described in the Vedas. The term Parimandal is frequently mentioned in the Brahmanas and Itihasas in reference to the Earth and other celestial bodies. Notably, this term is exclusively used to denote spherical objects.
The Satapatha Brahmana (7/1/1/37 and 6/7/1/26) explicitly describes the Earth as parimandal, meaning spherical in shape.
The Jaiminiya Brahmana and Kathaka Brahmana also affirm that the Earth is Parimandal, indicating its spherical shape.
The Vedas clearly state that the Moon receives its light from the Sun. This is mentioned in the Rig Veda (1.84.15), Sam Veda (2/4/3) demonstrating the advanced astronomical knowledge present in Ancient Vedas .
The Satapatha Brahmana (9/4/1/9) and the Yajur Veda (18.40) highlights that the Moon is dependent on the Sun for its illumination.
The ancient Vedas also describes the water cycle in detail. The Atharva Veda and Rig Veda explain how rainfall occurs due to the Sun's heat and how the entire water cycle functions, emphasizing the evaporation, condensation process
Atharva Veda 6/22/1 and Rig Veda 1/164/51 describing how water cycle works
Ancient Vedas also Describe about Motion of Earth and that Earth rotates and revolves on its own axis - Rig Veda and Sam Veda
Rig Veda 10.189.1 says that the Earth rotates on its own axis towards east and revolves around the sun
Nirukta 2/5 too describes Earth as moving and that it travels very far around the sun
The Satapatha Brahmana (7/4/1/25) also describes the Earth as being in motion, emphasizing its dynamic nature and further supporting the ancient Vedic understanding of the Earth's movement.
The Vedas also reveal the scientific understanding that sunlight comprises seven colors. This is explicitly mentioned in the Atharva Veda (7.112.1) and the Rig Veda (8.72.16), highlighting yet another remarkable scientific insight found in these ancient texts.
Same thing is stated in Jaiminiya Upanishad Brahmana and Nirukta that Light has 7 Rays
Aitareya Brahmana 3.44 and Gopatha Brahmana 2.4.10 , lay down the foundation of Concept for Rotation of Earth in it's axis, they say Sun neither rises nor sets. People call it ‘Sunrise’ & ‘Sunset’ by seeing position of Sun at Morning & evening.
A thread on Vishnu-Vrinda Prakaran and Tulsi Vivah . What's the Story behind it ? Did Vishnu cheat Vrinda/Tulsi ? Why did Vrinda curse Vishnu to become a Shaligram ?
As per Devi Bhagvatam as part of a leela Lakshmi Devi was cursed by Devi Saraswati to be born in the world as Tulsi and flow as river Padmavati . Devi Lakshmi will have to take birth as Vrinda/Tulsi and marry an Asur Jalandhar/Sankhachuda who will be Vishnu Amsa himself
Vrinda/Tulsi is Devi Lakshmi herself as per Devi Bhagvatam . Padma Purana says that Tulsi is another name of Vrinda and that Vrinda is Tulsi herself
