Day 1001 of #Russia's all out war in #Ukraine.
The genocide & attempt to wipe its neighbour from the map continues, but #Putin's increasingly desperate.
Welcome to another daily🧵
Breaking news already early this Wednesday morning.
All the news, all day (and night) every day.
Tuesday 19 November was always going to be special. Day 1,000 and what a day it proved.
Record likes and retweets, thanks to everyone who revived my faith in the T witter audience🫂
1/2 First the breaking news - and a third attack of the night inside #Russia.
At the end of yesterday's thread you may have read of the drone attacks on #Voronezh and #Belgorod regions. Well now it's become clear that #Novgorod has also been attacked by #Ukraine's UAVs..
2/2 It looks like #Ukraine has hit another ammo warehouse, similar to the supposed ATACMS strike 24 hours ago.
But this is in #Kotovo, over 800km (500 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
Locals report the area nearby being evacuated, with residents moved to #Kulotino 8-10km away
#Russia of course has been trying to hit #Ukraine with its own drones during the night.
Still a long way to go with 14 drones flying right now. A group of 8 is heading from #Sumy region to #Chernihiv and may continue to #Kyiv, where there have already been 2 alarms tonight.
No reports of serious damage in #Ukraine so far this night. But still no update on yesterday's strikes on #Kharkiv and #Zaporizhzhia where media silence was observed.
Unfortunately (or maybe there's no fortune about it, but lack of planning months ago) - the litany of bad news for #Ukraine from the front line in #Donetsk continues.
Very reliable Boris Myroshnykov reports 2 villages lost and another 3 all but gone and #Kurakhove looking bad.
Dear readers, I simply have to sleep a little. Four hours in 44 hours is madness! I'll get another 4 now and be back with updates.
In #Kyiv, there were some reports that drone debris damaged an apartment and a fire broke out.
However, emergency services say the blaze was caused by a domestic appliance.
A pensioner was injured during the night in #Chernihiv region.
It's said that a rocket flew into #Pryluky.
Civilian infrastructure was also damaged, which is probably why no detailed photos have been released under Martial Law.
The United States has taken the unusual step of closing its embassy in #Kyiv because of the possibility of a "serious attack" today.
In the last 24 hours #Russia lost its 1,000th anti-aircraft system.
100 vehicles and 49 artillery systems were also destroyed by #Ukraine, while the November average of invaders lost in battle continues to rise, with a further 1,690 reported by Kyiv today.
#Russia gets its knickers in a twist again over the US sending anti-personnel landmines to Kyiv.
Washington says these devices become inactive after a certain amount of time.
Neither #Ukraine nor #USA has signed the Ottawa convention on landmines, so this is not illegal.
A reminder of the warning issued by the USA this morning.
If you are in #Kyiv, DO NOT ignore air warnings today and please ensure anyone you know is aware of the urgent alert.
I think the US Intelligence may concern #Russia actively testing a new weapon on #Ukraine.
The ballistic missile is believed to be set to be launched from the #Astrakhan region.
#Spain has now followed the US in closing its embassy in #Kyiv today.

In occupied #Crimea, a multi-storey building caught fire this morning. No further details yet of the blaze in #Sevastopol.
#Russia fired 122 killer drones and 5 Kh-59/69 missiles during the night attack.
#Ukraine intercepted 2 of the 5 rockets.
Of the UAVs, 56 were shot down and 58 more foiled by EW.
Of the remaining 8, five drones went back to #Russia, and one visited #Belarus.
#Russia's denial that it helps terrorists overseas are in tatters according to #Israel sources, reports the WSJ today.
The 🇷🇺 weapons Israel has found in Hezbollah territory "are newer, more advanced, and present in larger numbers than expected"

An update on the fire in occupied #Crimea
A disabled 84 year old man died, unable to get out of his apartment on an upper floor in #Sevastopol and no-one helped him, while emergency services arrived too late.
#Russia's occupiers say the fire was started by a faulty heater
Missile threat for #Kyiv and the following regions of #Ukraine:
Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Cherkasy.
Obviously there is heightened caution today.
#Ukraine's Ombudsman revealed the extent of #Russia's war crimes against children in the first 1,000 days of war.
Almost 20,000 were kidnapped (or "forcibly deported") and nearly 2,000 are missing😢
Russia also killed around 600 and injured over 1,700 according to @lubinetzs
Air raid sirens sounded on occupied #Crimea this afternoon. Marine traffic from #Sevastopol was suspended and the #CrimeaBridge was closed for an hour amid rumours of a missile attack.
It may have been a fake launch as nothing happened at all.
Another bad fire in occupied #Crimea.
This is in a kindergarten in #Saky near the military airfield.
Authorities don't seem concerned saying "we think the foam in the roof caught fire"
Early today it was reported by the ExileNova Telegram channel that there had been strikes at, or near, an oil depot in #Samara region.

The deal had been shrouded in secrecy, but Ukrnafta has now got the go ahead to finalise the takeover.
10 of the gas stations are in occupied territories.
1/3
I feel a mini-thread within a thread coming on..
Shall we take a peek into how business is faring in #Russia?
Sometimes pictures speak louder than words...
2/3 You want some more details on #Russia's impending financial catastrophe and possible total collapse?
#Russia spent cash trying to prop up the ruble but it's still worth less than 1 cent
Meanwhile a new report from the Central Bank shows inflation spiralling despite denials
3/3 The @MoscowTimes also reports Putler won't be seen in public now long range missiles can be fired.
Obviously #EATP for #Putin.
I must credit #CrimeaWind Telegram channel for this fairly comprehensive list of how well it's going for Bunker Boy and his "growing economy"
An update on the vessel from #China suspected of cutting under-sea cables.... well, there is no update!
The Yi Peng 3 is still going nowhere, but a diving ship from #Norway has left its side to move a little further south. #Denmark still says nothing.
#Putin prepares to submit his wet dream to Trump, making #Ukraine disappear if the US agrees.
In red: occupied regions become part of Russia.
Orange will be a pro-Russia vassal state (like Belarus)
Yellow is "disputed territory" to be decided between Poland, Romania + Hungary.
Well, the timing is incredible, and I share Mr Seely's anger.
* BREAKING *
#Russia media report British #StormShadow missiles have been used on Russian territory for the first time.

The $275m worth of equipment heading to #Ukraine includes:

Generals from #NorthKorea may be among casualties. defence-ua.com/news/shozhe_sc…
#FriendlyFire
One of #Russia's armoured vehicles smashed into a civilian car in #Belgorod.
It happened on Sunday but authorities tried to hush it up, until this photo from #Korocha was published by Pepel. There's no word on casualties of course.
Immediately after the StormShadow attack in #Kursk, #Russia made 7 x TU-95 bombers airborne.
It could be a scare tactic, a fake, or a real attack launch.
We will know soon enough, but check for alerts if you're in #Ukraine.
ATACMS may have been used again.
There appears to have been a hit in occupied #Bakhmut (Video 1 - v. graphic). It's at or near the former Champagne Plant
3 months ago #Russia's military helpfully published video 2, showing how they converted it to a military HQ + hospital.
Another momentous day. I agree wholeheartedly with Piers Morgan 🤣
1/2 This evening, a new allegation of surrendering #Ukraine soldiers being mass executed in cold blood.
Again, #Russia emulating its hero Hitler & the Nazis.
The video is in the next post, skip it if you don't want to watch, but this is the sickening post glorifying the crime.
2/2 Here is the (low res) video of #Russia's crime.
The time code shows this afternoon, but that's probably when the file was created by the channel owner.
The video therefore cannot be verified, and no location is given, but it fits with reports not to take prisoners in #Kursk
#Ukraine's ombudsman has reacted to the likely new executions - which he says happened in the #Kursk region.
It's been mercifully quiet for a while. No major attacks either side

I'm way behind in reading notifications & acknowledging your comments
Also due to an immensely busy 2 days, I've not yet had chance to show my appreciation to your incredible generosity on these days.
So many coffees & kind words.
Thank you so bloody much, all of you here💙💛
There are still no attack drones in #Ukraine tonight.
Some rare respite for air defence and a chance to get some quality sleep I hope for the beleaguered population
Maybe there were a lot of drones in one of those depots hit?
I'm off to bed now too. See you back here tomorrow

More heinous attacks. On its day of mourning, #Sumy was hit again just as the day ended, and #Odesa lost another ten residents.
Let me start today's news in #Sumy, because sadly the number of killed + injured after #Russia's strike have both increased.
An 11th person died during the night while 89 people required medical treatment. Medics, rescuers, psychologists and volunteers worked through the night.
Day 998 of #Russia's all out war, and Sunday 17 Nov is the day #Moscow's war criminals chose for the big missile attack on #Ukraine
It's such a difficult time for anyone associated with Ukraine. With the election of Musk/Trump, Putin's convinced terrorism will win.
Here's the🧵
Before I forget, here's the link for yesterday's thread. I know many of you like to catch up on what you've missed in #Ukraine and stories connected to the war.
Hello and welcome to Day 996 of #Russia's barbaric war.
Putin's band of war criminals is throwing everything at #Ukraine's defenders for 2 months as the Kremlin is certain tRUmp will force negotiations and wants to be in the strongest position possible.
Here's the daily thread
#Russia is literally teetering on the edge of economic meltdown. If the west does not take this opportunity to ensure justice, protect borders and prosecute war criminals, historians will look back and shake their heads. They may also ask why do anything in the previous 3 years?
Anyway, let's get on with the stories of the day, although we start as ever with the link back to Thursday's thread.
It was a day which saw more problems for #Russia, more war crimes with a civilian shot dead on the street and a terrible attack on #Odesa
Very near 1000 days of war in Europe, but also we should remember that #Ukraine's allies were pretty happy to let the first invasion by #Russia in 2014 go unchecked.
Weakness, appeasement or shady deals for cash only store up and multiply problems.
Here my daily🧵on Day 995
First thing first, the link for the start of yesterday's thread.
Plenty of evidence of #Russia's pending economic collapse, especially masses of airlines. Plus rioting absconders in Russia and assassination of one of their war criminals. All in here⬇️
