A dominant national final in modern Eurovision, Mello is back once again! And just look previous years, the song list is filled with familiar faces. Only 2 of the 30 songs seem to have no attachment to previous songs (a thread 🧵)
Linnea Henriksson - Den känslan
Two of the newer songwriters in the Mello sphere, "Den känslan" was written by David Lindgren Zacharias and Sebastian Atas. Their previous collabs include Lisa Ajax' "Awful Liar" and Robin Bengtsson's "Innocent Love"
Meira Omar - Hush Hush
Three star writers, Laurell, Anderz and Dino have many succesful entries between them. Previous collabs between Anderz and Laurell include Raylee's "Wild" and "Hero", and Maria Sur's "Never Give Up"
Maja Ivarsson - Kamikaze Life
A collab between the Deb's, Jimmy Joker, and Andreas Giri Lindbergh. These four have previously collabed on the two Smash Into Pieces entries and Kadiatou's "One Touch"
Albin Johnsén feat. Pa - Upp i luften
A bit of a mix of styles here. On one hand, you have Albin and Mattias, who have worked on ballads and standard pop previously. On the other hand, you have Fernand MP and Panetoz frontman Pa Modou, who are more know for up-tempo and afrobeat
John Lundvik - Voice of the Silent
A mix between the artist himself, and Thomas G:son, Peter Boström and Jimmy Jansson. The three cowriters have previously worked on songs like "Bigger than the Universe", "Tattoo", and "Ballerina" together
Adrian Macéus - Vår första gång
One of two Adam "Rymdpojken" Englund entries this year, he previous worked on Axel's entry "Tills månen blir sol" in this year's Hello Mello
SCHLAGERZ - Don Juan
A schlager supergroup, Schlagerz' entry was written by Mikael Karlsson, who has worked on Arvingarna's recent entries, and Anna Engh, who wrote Rachel Goode's Eurosong 2022 entry "I'm Loving Me"
Nomi Tales - Funniest Thing
Written by Herman Gardarfve, who has seen success with entries like The Mamas' "Move" in Mello, but also has had songs in selections for Estonia and the United Kingdom
Klara Hammarström - On and On and On
A highly anticipated entry, "On and On and On", features credits from Jimmy Jansson, Thomas G:son, Cazzi Opeia, Peter Boström, and Dino Medanhodzic. Previous collabs include "Effortless" and "Tattoo". Big shoes to fill
Kaliffa - Salute
A well known Swedish artist, but Mello debutant, Kaliffa's entry was written by Jimmy Joker and Anderz Wrethov among others. Their previous collabs include "We Will Rave", "Run to the Hills", "Qué será", "When I'm Gone", "Voices", and "Dragon"
Erik Segerstedt - Show Me What Love Is
One of the smaller graphs this year, Erik is joined by formed EMD group mate Mattias Andréasson and Pontus Söderman. The two previously wrote Reyhan's "Haunted"
Fredrik Lundman - The Heart of a Swedish Cowboy
Another G:sonian entry, this time a collab with Erik Bernholm. The two previously worked on "Quédate conmigo", "In a Moment like This", "Still Young", and Anna Bergendahl's Melfest renaissance entries
Malou Prytz - 24K Gold
Malou's fourth entry, this song features credits from Julie "Kill J" Aagaard among others. The writers have intersected on bangers like "When I'm Gone", "We Will Rave" and "Run to the Hills" before
Annika Wickihalder - Life Again
Coming back after a succesful 2024 debut, "Life Again" shares writers with "Light". Other collabs between Patrik Jean and Herman Gardarfve include "Move", "Tears Run Dry" and "All My Life"
Björn Holmgren - Rädda mig
Another David Lindgren Zacharias entry, "Rädda mig" also features Jens Hult, who worked on Omar Rydberg's "Om om och om igen"
Angelino - Teardrops
The Deb's and Jimmy Joker at work again. Interestingly, "Teardrops" sees Melfest 2021 winner Tusse make his Mello songwriter debut. Performing the song is Angelino, who previously performed in 2022, and has written Elysa' song for Eesti Laul 2025
Dolly Style - YIHAA
The fourth appearance of this ever changing girl group. Interestingly, non of the people involved here were part of their Melfest debut, "Hello Hi". Fans may recognize Melania Wehbe from multiple entries, like Saba's "Sand" or her own "For the Show"
KAJ - Bara bada bastu
Another collab between Anderz Wrethov and Robert Skowronski, who also worked on Kaliffa's entry this year
Ella Tiritiello - Bara du är där
Another Rymdpojken entry, this time working with a little know artist known as Loreen. This marks her first Mello appearance as a pure songwriter
AmenA - Do Good Be Better
Sandra and Stefan have a history of writing songs for Azerbaijan, being behind their succesful run from 2010 to 2012 among others. Sandra also wrote "Tick-Tock" for Ukraine in 2014
Måns Zelmerlöw - Revolution
No stranger to Mello or Eurovision, 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw is back. Helping him out is David Lindgren Zacharias, and a major star of the 00', Ola Svensson
Andreas Lundstedt - Vicious
Making his 10th appearance Alcazar member Andreas Lundstedt is back once again. Helping him out is a more modern set of songwriters, featuring Laurell, Dino Medanhodzic and Liamoo. The latter two previously collabed on "Royals" and "Bluffin"
Tennessee Tears - Yours
After a one year break, Tennessee Tears are back, with the help of Gavin Jones, who worked on DMGP 2020 fan favourite "Human" and robbed Mello 2015 entry "I'll Be Fine"
Saga Ludvigsson - Hate You So Much
Another Herman Gardarfve entry, this time with Lisa Desmond, who worked on multiple Molly Pettersson Hammar entries as well as Serbia's 2017 entry "In Too Deep"
Victoria Silvstedt - Love It!
The most talked about debut of the year, Victoria's entry is written by Thomas G:son and Jimmy Jansson. Among their many collaborations are "Tattoo", "Effortless", "Bigger than the Universe", and "Give My Heart a Break"
Arvingarna - Ring baby ring
Their 7th Melfest appearance, Arvingarna is helped by G:son, and former Friends member Stefan Brunzell. Both were also involved with fan favourite "Tänker inte alls gå hem"
SCARLET - Sweet N' Psycho
Breakout stars of last year, SCARLET are back, but with a new team. Last time these three collaborated was with Tone Sekelius' "Rhythm of My Show"
Arwin - This Dream of Mine
Familiar names here too, although all four have never been on the song for Mello. Are we due a banger?
