MELODIFESTIVALEN 2025 SONGWRITER DEEP DIVE 🇸🇪🕸️📊
A dominant national final in modern Eurovision, Mello is back once again! And just look previous years, the song list is filled with familiar faces. Only 2 of the 30 songs seem to have no attachment to previous songs (a thread 🧵) Image
Linnea Henriksson - Den känslan
Two of the newer songwriters in the Mello sphere, "Den känslan" was written by David Lindgren Zacharias and Sebastian Atas. Their previous collabs include Lisa Ajax' "Awful Liar" and Robin Bengtsson's "Innocent Love" Image
Meira Omar - Hush Hush
Three star writers, Laurell, Anderz and Dino have many succesful entries between them. Previous collabs between Anderz and Laurell include Raylee's "Wild" and "Hero", and Maria Sur's "Never Give Up" Image
Maja Ivarsson - Kamikaze Life
A collab between the Deb's, Jimmy Joker, and Andreas Giri Lindbergh. These four have previously collabed on the two Smash Into Pieces entries and Kadiatou's "One Touch" Image
Albin Johnsén feat. Pa - Upp i luften
A bit of a mix of styles here. On one hand, you have Albin and Mattias, who have worked on ballads and standard pop previously. On the other hand, you have Fernand MP and Panetoz frontman Pa Modou, who are more know for up-tempo and afrobeat Image
John Lundvik - Voice of the Silent
A mix between the artist himself, and Thomas G:son, Peter Boström and Jimmy Jansson. The three cowriters have previously worked on songs like "Bigger than the Universe", "Tattoo", and "Ballerina" together Image
Adrian Macéus - Vår första gång
One of two Adam "Rymdpojken" Englund entries this year, he previous worked on Axel's entry "Tills månen blir sol" in this year's Hello Mello Image
SCHLAGERZ - Don Juan
A schlager supergroup, Schlagerz' entry was written by Mikael Karlsson, who has worked on Arvingarna's recent entries, and Anna Engh, who wrote Rachel Goode's Eurosong 2022 entry "I'm Loving Me" Image
Nomi Tales - Funniest Thing
Written by Herman Gardarfve, who has seen success with entries like The Mamas' "Move" in Mello, but also has had songs in selections for Estonia and the United Kingdom Image
Klara Hammarström - On and On and On
A highly anticipated entry, "On and On and On", features credits from Jimmy Jansson, Thomas G:son, Cazzi Opeia, Peter Boström, and Dino Medanhodzic. Previous collabs include "Effortless" and "Tattoo". Big shoes to fill Image

A well known Swedish artist, but Mello debutant, Kaliffa's entry was written by Jimmy Joker and Anderz Wrethov among others. Their previous collabs include "We Will Rave", "Run to the Hills", "Qué será", "When I'm Gone", "Voices", and "Dragon" Image
Erik Segerstedt - Show Me What Love Is
One of the smaller graphs this year, Erik is joined by formed EMD group mate Mattias Andréasson and Pontus Söderman. The two previously wrote Reyhan's "Haunted" Image

Malou's fourth entry, this song features credits from Julie "Kill J" Aagaard among others. The writers have intersected on bangers like "When I'm Gone", "We Will Rave" and "Run to the Hills" before Image
Annika Wickihalder - Life Again
Coming back after a succesful 2024 debut, "Life Again" shares writers with "Light". Other collabs between Patrik Jean and Herman Gardarfve include "Move", "Tears Run Dry" and "All My Life" Image
Björn Holmgren - Rädda mig
Another David Lindgren Zacharias entry, "Rädda mig" also features Jens Hult, who worked on Omar Rydberg's "Om om och om igen" Image

The Deb's and Jimmy Joker at work again. Interestingly, "Teardrops" sees Melfest 2021 winner Tusse make his Mello songwriter debut. Performing the song is Angelino, who previously performed in 2022, and has written Elysa' song for Eesti Laul 2025 Image
Dolly Style - YIHAA
The fourth appearance of this ever changing girl group. Interestingly, non of the people involved here were part of their Melfest debut, "Hello Hi". Fans may recognize Melania Wehbe from multiple entries, like Saba's "Sand" or her own "For the Show" Image
KAJ - Bara bada bastu
Another collab between Anderz Wrethov and Robert Skowronski, who also worked on Kaliffa's entry this year Image
Ella Tiritiello - Bara du är där

No stranger to Mello or Eurovision, 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw is back. Helping him out is David Lindgren Zacharias, and a major star of the 00', Ola Svensson Image

After a one year break, Tennessee Tears are back, with the help of Gavin Jones, who worked on DMGP 2020 fan favourite "Human" and robbed Mello 2015 entry "I'll Be Fine" Image
Saga Ludvigsson - Hate You So Much
Another Herman Gardarfve entry, this time with Lisa Desmond, who worked on multiple Molly Pettersson Hammar entries as well as Serbia's 2017 entry "In Too Deep" Image
Victoria Silvstedt - Love It!
The most talked about debut of the year, Victoria's entry is written by Thomas G:son and Jimmy Jansson. Among their many collaborations are "Tattoo", "Effortless", "Bigger than the Universe", and "Give My Heart a Break" Image
Arvingarna - Ring baby ring
Their 7th Melfest appearance, Arvingarna is helped by G:son, and former Friends member Stefan Brunzell. Both were also involved with fan favourite "Tänker inte alls gå hem" Image
SCARLET - Sweet N' Psycho
Breakout stars of last year, SCARLET are back, but with a new team. Last time these three collaborated was with Tone Sekelius' "Rhythm of My Show" Image
Arwin - This Dream of Mine
Familiar names here too, although all four have never been on the song for Mello. Are we due a banger? Image
Those were all 28 entries with connections to others. Despite the overwhelming tendency, the following two entries do not seem to have any connections:
Greczula - Believe Me
Vilhelm Buchaus - I’m Yours
And that's all! Hope you enjoyed reading this thread, and found it informative. If you did, make sure to follow me so you don't miss out on similar deep dives I will be making for all other national finals this season. Until then, take care!

🇲🇪🇪🇺 BIG EUROVISION PREDICTION SURVEY 2025: MONTESONG RESULTS
Based on the predictions of Eurofans, I have simulated Montesong 2024 10000 times. These predictions and simulations allow us to get a solid picture of each entry's chances at the competition. Let's go! (A thread 🧵) Image
As reflected in the winning chances, you believe "Dobrodošli" is by far the strongest entry in the selection, having both the highest predicted jury and tele score on average. While 8 of the entries have limited chances, the other 8 either do well with jury, tele or both Image
Just going by the averages, Nina sweeps, with jury and televote runners up Tamara and Isak coming 2nd and 3rd. However, this standard scenario is very unlikely, as entries will surely surprise on Wednesday. This diversity is reflected in the 10000 simulations, more on that later Image
