Two of my favorite books are “The Black Swan” by Nicolas Talib and his follow up “Anti-fragile: things that gain from disorder.”

Although I’d say it differently....“it’s the disorder things/people who will gain, set in motion” AKA don’t watch

the chaotic movements of the right hand—pay attention to the goings on in the left, which no matter how obscure are purposeful with predictable outcomes—even if way down the road.

Hard to convince people to do that in a culture that runs on the sensationalism of what’s

occurring with the right hand.

As far as I can see, the mechanisms for all he portends are already set in place but we hop like grasshoppers from thing to thing without ever looking behind us to see where the trajectory of what we’ve long set in motion is in fact leading..

or producing and very often, we double down on those same mechanism whether for personal gain or because we think that by doing so we can force reality to comport with our beliefs—we are inflexible callous creatures

This seems evident to me in the way we only think about

ethics or dire consequences AFTER the fact and do things simply because we can without ever thinking “should we”

It is maddening for those of us who think ahead or “see thru” the things driving such behaviors. 

I happen to disagree with him on some points—the main one

being nothing in the human construct happens without causation—after all these black swan events are the result of the human construct either because we refuse to take the unknown or the unknown unknown into account, or refuse to see far enough down the road because we

better like the near term results that benefit us.

I tend to think the solution lies in the question “Are we willing to interrogate ourselves enough to actually realize what we’ve done to create the platform or mechanisms for those things (Black Swan events) to occur

such that they literally destabilize us and that’s the least of what they can do.”

The answer is typically no. We have not evolved enough to even ask the question. 

I tend to think the emergence of a Black Swan event as destructive as it is, is an attempt by the systems

we construct to self correct for human error or if you will .. more often than not human evil.

I’m not saying those systems are conscious—(but these systems are constructed by humans, run by humans who run humans through them and humans populate them in every space) only

that all things work for balance because the functioning and organic growth of anything and everything from fungus virus animals flora fauna the eco system and all systems themselves depend on the finely honed tension between stability and change. In other-words the only

systems that survive are systems that are strong enough in flexibility to maintain an OPEN SYSTEM status. And as far as I can tell, that is not a trait of the west.

Without a stable foundation growth can’t happen but without growth the foundation will rot

and cave in on itself. It’s not just biology that repeatedly in Escher like fashion reflects that back to us…everything we know or observe about physics does too.

For those of us doing that kind of deep dive analysis, the work of seeing via the interrogation of human

systems within systems and their effects, this “forward seeing”  becomes an exercise in being Paul Revere, only no one wakes up and everyone throws their produce at you in the morning for trying to warn them.

in that people will see what they want to see and nothing but nothing will detour them from conjuring that apparition and God help the individual who says it’s not real. 

The only reason to kill someone who tells the truth is because deep down you know what youre clinging to

week after week, month after month and year after year show what’s been deducted right there in black and white yet some 50% and over of us still don’t get it. 

It’s the perfect example of what I mean.. we don’t know shit from shinola and don’t even bother to figure it out

& then just go with the narrative that pulls at our outrage responses & then into the ditch we go

Afterwords everyone is confused? But no time to figure it out—here comes the next sensational chaos bite

The lack of humanity education & circumspect reasoning in this country

I feel like I’m living in an insane world and I always knew sanity and reality were a thin veil

That was my shortsighted foolishness! 

Some days it really gets to me.. others I just shut down… there’s literally nothing more I can do.

I’ve been at this for years in the hope

of developing a critical mass via public education and information that just did not happen…and in the end I’m still forced to watch in real time the same train wreak I’ve been seeing in slo-mo for years while trying to prevent it! 
 
I frequently wish I did not see

and know what I do and at times think my education intelligence and insatiable damnnation curiosity is a curse.

Nonetheless here we are as I’ve been warning… and it’s unfolding exactly as set up, & not just based on systems erected long ago
