Recently, using information from Colonel Mashovets, I tried to estimate the pace of production and modernization, and how long the Russians will be able to use the tanks and IFVs stored in warehouses. In this thread, I will try to perform the same analysis for artillery systems.
Again, I am not focusing on the numbers themselves, but on the trend of whether the Russians are able to replenish their losses on an ongoing basis.
In the spring, there were about 4,300 artillery systems in the five groups of the Russian army ("Center", "Wostok", "North", "Zapad" and "South"). I am attaching the relevant thread.
At the turn of October and November, I managed to estimate that the number of artillery systems in these five groups is about 4,700, which is a slight increase. It should be remembered that the colonel has not recently provided any information about the equipment of the "Dnieper"
Army Group. In the spring, it had over 900 artillery systems, but now a large part of its units has been transferred to other sections of the front (Kursk, Pokrovsk, Kurahove).
Therefore, if we took into account all the army groups operating on the front, the number of artillery would increase slightly.
So the conclusion is that 🇷🇺 are able to constantly recreate this hardware component. What does their production capacity look like in this case?
The main problem is certainly estimating the Russian losses of this equipment, because in this case visual confirmation is very underestimated. Therefore, we have to rely on the GSUA reports, but they include both destruction and hits.
So what is the percentage of artillery destroyed in relation to that reported by the GSUA? Let's try to check this this time based on visual data, Andrew's destroyed artillery is about 35%, and Jakub's is almost 70%, so I think that if I take an average of 50%,
I will not make a big mistake. So from January to the end of October, the GSUA reported Russian artillery losses of about 8,940 pieces. Image
Image
Half, or 4,470, were destroyed, which means that 🇷🇺 loses about 450 pieces of artillery per month. If, despite this, it was able to increase their number on the front, it must produce and modernize about 500 pieces of this equipment per month. Assuming the information provided by
both Western and Ukrainian sources that about 80-85% of the equipment transferred to the "SVO zone" is renovated post-Soviet warehouse stocks, then about 400 pieces of artillery systems are transferred from warehouses to the BTRZ per month.
The warehouse resources were counted by @HighMarsed and in the middle of this year they had about 6,000 pieces of towed artillery in their warehouses. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…
@HighMarsed Assuming that some of the towed artillery (M-46, M-30, D-1) is not used by the Russians, their modernizable storage resources can be estimated at about 4,500 pieces. To this number should be added SGP, which is about 2,500 pieces.
@HighMarsed Therefore, in the middle of this year, Russia had about 7,000 pieces of towed and self-propelled artillery in storage. Since they renew about 400 pieces per month to cover losses,
@HighMarsed only such systems that are only suitable for cannibalization should remain in their storage by the end of 2025. Of course, all these calculations are based on two very important assumptions, i.e. firstly, the intensity of operations, and therefore 🇷🇺 losses will be maintained.
@HighMarsed And secondly, the technical condition of the counted artillery systems (especially those called "unknown") will allow them to be renovated.

Voenkor Kotenok is one of the Russian milbloggers. I sometimes quote him, although his channel is very nationalistic and mostly repeats the official Kremlin narrative.
Therefore, the post I would like to quote really arouses surprise and hope that finally in Russia they are beginning to notice the real situation of their homeland: "Our assessment of the military situation in the zone of the Northern Military District by the public and
the media is absolutely inadequate. Unfortunately, the tone of distorting the information background, and often disinformation, was imposed even before the start of the special operation by the official security forces in the form of several talking heads with general stars,

#Wuhledar I have pointed out several times that Army Group "Vostok" formed approximately 10,000 shock group near Staromayorske. After several reconnaissance battles, yesterday they decided to launch offensives supported by armored equipment towards Velyka Novosilka, Image
Shakhtarske and the western part of the Berestove Gorge. Most of the attacks were defeated, but north of Złota Niwa they managed to occupy approximately 12 km2 of terrain (Petrenko's maps) Image
The situation was very serious for the AFU, because the Russians managed to break through the 2022 defense line, but were then rejected. Why did the Russians decide to launch such an attack? Well, Bogoyavlenka, located north of Wuhledar, is located in a valley,

Yesterday, a video appeared in which residents of the Far East (probably citizens of the DPRK) were dressing in Russian uniforms. Earlier, Ukrainians, such as Kirill Budanov, reported Koreans in Russian uniforms.
Of course, this may be a Russian PSYOPS, as various Russian telegram accounts are trying to emphasize, which is supposed to cause fear in the West and force Ukraine and Western countries to agree to Russian conditions.
The Russians have even created interesting graphics that were quickly "modified".

#Zaporizhzhia a few days ago there was a small Russian offensive action north of occupied Vasylivka, about 40 km from the city of Zaporizhzhia. Specifically, it is the villages of Kamianske and Plavni. Image
Image
Of course, Russian telegram channels reported a great success, and the channel "Alan Parker Returns" even announced the creation of a bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper (!!!!!) and ordered the city of Zaporizhzhia to prepare... Image
The whole situation was quickly clarified, so I was surprised to read today's entry by milblogger "Voenkor Kotenok", in which he still believes that Kamianske is controlled by the Russians. So what happened on October 6 of this year? Image

#Kursk since my last thread on this fighting area, not much has changed, both sides have not completed their assigned tasks, and the activity of both sides has clearly decreased.
However,🇷🇺still intend to oust the AFU from the Kursk region, which is why they continue to move military units north from other directions. In this way, the 38th and 64th Mechanized Rifle Brigades, which have so far operated in the Polohy area, will be transferred from AG Wostok
Let me just remind you that the 64th Independent Mechanized Rifle Brigade became famous for the massacre of civilians in Bucha in March 2022. Perhaps its transfer to the Kursk region is also intended to achieve a psychological effect.

#Kursk as we remember on September 10, the Russians launched a counteroffensive in the western sector of the Kursk region occupied by Ukraine, which I wrote about in the attached thread.
The Russians reinforced the troops fighting in the Koronevo area with the following units: the 56th regiment of the 7th airborne assault division and the 51st and 173rd regiments of the 106th airborne division. All of these units were relocated from the Eastern Front.
In this way, the Russians managed to create an assault group, which in the first few days regained control of 11 settlements, the largest of which was the village of Sangost. On the Petrenko map, this is the area marked in orange. Image
