The new frontlines of #Syria (Thread🧵)

After the fall of #Asad, a new power struggle has erupted between multiple parties as all try to gain control over the country.

A short analysis. Image
On December 8, HTS overthrew the Asad’s government and proclaiming control over the entire country but there’s more to it, The Syrian democratic forces(SDF) have refused to give up and are fighting to keep their control over northern Syria.

Who are the SDF? Made up of Kurdish YPG,PKK and some fractions of FSA and some 100,000 strong, this coalition funded and backed by the USA was formed to fight against ISIS, Asad forces and Turkish backed rebels.

Clashes have erupted between between the Turkish backed Rebels and the SDF in Manbij, Kobane, Raqqa and Deir ez-zor governorates. Both sides are using heavy calibre and modern weapons against each other. Image

After the fall of Damascus, the popularity of SDF have gone down dramatically in the region, with protests demanding their withdrawal, there are reports of SDF forces firing on the protesters claiming 10 lives.

Deir ez-Zor, primarily an Arab area in eastern Syria,The SDF with support from U.S. forces ostensibly to fight ISIS, has taken control of the region, leading to increased tensions. Local Arab tribes perceive the PKK/YPG's control as an external imposition, fueling resistance.
On the other hand, Isreali forces with 10k troops have advanced 25km into Syria and 40km away from Damascus, facing no resistance from any group and is determined to create a buffer zone. Image
Israeli airforce have also destroyed the leftover equipment of the Asad forces such as ammo depots, air defences and aircrafts etc as preemptive measures with the largest air raid since the Arab-Israel war. Image

The Russian forces have withdrawn from the areas and bases it once controlled and have been given a safe passage by the rebels as they withdraw their Ballistic Missiles and other equipment.
American forces will continue to operate in Syria and control the oil fields in the region as per Us officials. Image
Image
No statement regarding the Israeli advancements have been made by the HTS leadership as they are busy in the transfer of power from the former prime minister of Syria. Image
The future of Syria remains unclear and uncertain, peace is far from guaranteed, as old players are leaving the country, new players continue to pour in with their own agendas. The people of Syria deserve a better future.

My hopes and prayers are with them 🤞🏻 Image

For decades, Asad’s family had ruled over the Syrian people with brute force, facing resistance from his people, dictator Bashr Al Asad had always been rescued by his external forces such as Iran, Russia and hezbollah, so what changed this time? Image
Image
War has been mostly quiet in recent years, characterized by minor skirmishes between rebels and Assad's forces without significant shifts in control. However, the rebels recently exploited a moment of vulnerability, as the Asad’s main supporters were distracted by other wars.

Reports indicate that, as a precursor to last night’s attack, Israel initially targeted air defense systems and radar installations in Syria and Iraq.

A Thread 🧵 Image
It appears #Israeli aircraft used Jordanian and Iraqi airspace to strike military radars in #Iraq, #Syria, aiming to take out radar systems before launching missiles toward #Iran, thus avoiding any direct entry into Iranian airspace.
Israeli sources report that 20 sites in Iran, all military targets, were struck. This suggests Israel has decided to respond in kind to Iran’s October 1 attack, which similarly targeted military facilities. Image

Footage of an impact at a factory in Shamsabad Industrial City, Tehran reportedly related to the manufacturing of Drone parts.
It seems that this is Khomeini's tomb, and by considering the angle of the minarets, we can determine several points for the place of smoke, the most important of which is the S300 Kahrizak defense.
