The evolution of Terving:

Step one. You try to be nice. You say over and over how you respect everyone. You are sure if they understood that women sometimes need their own spaces this would all go away.

Step 2. So you explain. And explain. And explain. And explain. You give examples. Only somehow it is all turned against you. You are accused of weaponizing trauma. Huh? Weaponizing?????

No. You were just expecting a modicum of understanding. You did not find it. 2/

Step 3. You go to higher ups. You expect them to back you. Surely a shelter will understand why women need a private shelter. Right?

What do you MEAN you force homeless women to shower with men?? Are you an overripe turnip? Say what??

You are more horrified.

Step 3 can continue for a while. You go to sports authorities. Surely, you understand that men are not women. Right? You wouldn’t have a man race against a blind woman? Right?????

Your horror grows.

Step 4. You are depressed. You ask what has happened to the world. How can everyone be doing this to women? You see a world you don’t recognize. You keep waiting for them to snap out of it. Surely, they WILL snap out of it, right? This can’t go on. Can it?

Step 5. You no longer care to have any conversations. The time for talking is done. The girls refuse to play. You realize they won’t snap out of it. They won’t be reasonable. They will never care about women.

You are done. You’ve had enough.

Step 6. Then you go out there and fight. You get any politician who supported this out of office. You don’t care what they call you. You know men are men. You have found your hill.

You are The Terven. The fiercest fighters on the planet for women and kids. Love you all.
