It’s 1992 and Britain is in recession.

Hoover's profits had dropped from $147M to $74M.

They needed a plan to sell thousands of unsold vacuums.

Then the marketing team came with an idea:
What if we gave away flights to Europe and America...

With every £100 Hoover purchase?'

And pair it with a catchy slogan like...

'Two free flights! Unbelievable!'

But why would they make such an insane decision?
Their 'brilliant' plan?

Make the paperwork so complex that after buying the Hoover, people wouldn't bother claiming the tickets.

Buyers had to:

Send forms within 14 days. Fill complex paperwork. Face constant rejections.

The British public had other plans...
They expected 50,000 claims.
