1/3) With non-profits — Groundwork + one other - which has seats in Cyril Ramaphosa’s PCC — using our courts to shut down our coal power plants don’t you think it’s time as citizens we ask if our Presidency is captured?

🆘 Why are none of our elected representatives challenging Cyril Ramaphosa for locating the DPE (all our crucial state owned assets) in the Presidency, to be controlled by the foreign funded Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) supported by the Climate Change Act he signed into law which was drafted by a foreign funded non-profit organization — CER which also has a seat at the PCC?

⁉️ Did the D A and Cyril Ramaphosa pre-plan this heist of our sovereign assets through the Presidency the same way they did with our national government/Parliament with the fictional GNU? 🧵
2/3) How can we ignore these facts? 🧵
3/3) Ever wondered why the non-profits don’t ever go to court to challenge the extortionate electricity price hikes?
Is it because over 60% of the tariff hikes are caused by RE IPPs which are making a profit? 🔚 Image

1) Germany | Energy| Infrastructure | Africa| Ramaphosa | DA

Someone mentioned Germany’s role in South Africa’s energy policy decisions, for example the loans and demands to shut down coal power stations.

For the critical analysts I found something for you to ponder over this weekend. Notably — GIZ — The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has been partner of the AU since 2004.Image
2) GIZ is a German government agency - The Federal Republic of Germany (represented by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF)) is GIZ's sole shareholder.
Where else do we see GIZ in South Africa? Image

3) In more than 43 African member states, GIZ partners with the AU Commission and the AU’s specialised institutions to implement programmes and projects at continental, national as well as regional level.

These include the AU Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD

1) Things they told us

As we are stunned years later to hear from the Eskom Board chair that an investigation shows there’s no evidence of mafia style corruption at the power utility, yet a day doesn’t go by without some political parties and the media reminding us, daily, that the ANC cadres and corruption has caused Loadshedding and is the cause of the extortionate electricity price hikes, what evidence do you think an investigation will uncover about the advice to IPPs in 2016 to use the legal route together with forming strategic alliances with NGOs to shore up the social support for renewable energy IPPs because the proposed new nuclear power build was going to take up IPP space in our energy sector?

The plans with our pension funds to boost investment into infrastructure to privatize state owned assets is supported by business and unions, so don’t be fooled that it’s an ANC policy - read to the end

July 2020
1. The ANC and Business for South Africa (B4SA) recently released their respective economic recovery plans for the country. Both proposals said using savings and retirement funds to finance infrastructure projects with the purpose of driving economic growth should be looked into.

2. Last week, the ANC’s economic head, Enoch Godogwana, said the party was in discussions with 20 pension funds — including the Public Investment Corporation, which manages the Government Employees Pension Fund — regarding amendments to regulation 28. He said the ANC is not proposing that the state implements a policy of prescribed assets but rather that the party is proposing a “relook” into regulation 28.
The ANC said amending regulation 28 to increase access to people’s savings can help fund long-term infrastructure and capital projects.

3. The rate of return is not set for energy, water, roads, hospital or education infrastructure, but in most instances can be predetermined where there are upfront agreements on tolls, rentals, 💥tariffs💥and concessions that come with these projects,”

Dec 2021
4. The draft Regulation addresses several shortcomings in the first iteration, published in February 2021, that were raised by stakeholders.  The submissions on the first draft expressed general concern about the definition of "infrastructure", which was limited to installations, structures, facilities, systems, services or processes relating to matters specified in Schedule 1 of the Infrastructure Development Act 23 of 2014.  As a result, infrastructure was restricted to the National Infrastructure Plan ("NIP"), so it excluded infrastructure in the private sector and offshore.

5. According to the draft Regulation, infrastructure means ‘any asset class that entails physical assets constructed for the provision of social and economic utilities or benefit for the public.'  The effect is that infrastructure is now given a standalone definition which is not restricted to the NIP, and now includes both public and private infrastructure investment.

IEC SYSTEM CRASH - Election Results | Results Process | Observation of activity on X - 31 May 2024

30 May 2024: IEC Western Cape Vote Capture Centre The Chief Electoral officer announced in a media briefing that he was shutting down capturing of votes at 22:00 on Thursday 30 May 2024. Michael Hendrickse was then asked by a journalist and he clarifies, they have been working for 72 hours. And don’t want to make simple errors in capturing.

Note the IEC Results Process:
Party agents and independent election monitors were only allowed at the VDs. Once the votes were counted at each VD and result slips signed, the ballot boxes were transported to the municipal election offices/capture centre. Party agents and monitors were not allowed access to the capture centre. Therefore there was no oversight by parties and independent monitors of the vote caturing process.

31 May 2024

06:30-07:00AM
1. The IEC public facing NPE system crashed/went offline between 06:30AM -07:00AM on Friday, 31 May 2022

09:00-09:15AM
2. The system came back online between 09:00 -09:15AM

3. There were many queries posted on X, including some IT experts who had been tracking the system

4. At 07:55AM - the IEC published an apology about the issue with the public facing NPE, and that they are working on restoring service. The IEC notice stated, "The results system is still operational and local offices continue to capture results"

5. At 09:14AM the IEC published a media statement - "Update on the public facing NPE system
- The EC confirmed it "experienced interruption in the replication of data from the national data centre and various Results Operation Centres (RoCs)"
- "The data in the data centre remains in tact and the results have not been compromised"
- All services have since been restored"

6. At 12:24PM the IEC published a "Reminder: Objections and Appeals" deadline at 21:00 on 31 May 2024
- "Any interested party, including members of the public, independent candidates, and political parties, may lodge an objection that is material to the result of an election, with the Commission.
- A section 55 objection for the 2024 elections must be lodged by 21:00, 31 May.
- Objections can be submitted either via email at S55objections@elections.org.za or hand delivered to Legal Services at the National Results Operation Centre as well as at the Commission's Head Office."
- NOTE: This notice was the first notice published by the IEC of the deadline, and it was unexpected and unfair to voters considering the fact the vote counting was only at 55%, that voting at VD's were delyed due to the IEC's inefficiencies (some VD.s voting continued until 05:00AM on 30 May 2024) and that the IEC site was offline for over 2 hours.

WHILE THE SITE WAS DOWN (06:30AM-09:00AM)

7. The were many complaints and enquiries posted on X

8. Some IT techs who were tracking the system noted the results on the backend "are zeroed out"

9. Another said that the site is not down, the server is fine and they demanded that the tech dev "roll-back the change"

AFTER 16:00
10. It techs asked the IEC what code changed, and why?
- one question posed - what codes changes were made and why and did they test the code before making changes? There was no response from the IEC

11. IT Techs noted the code changed after the site was online again (image 2)

12. Some techs asked for the full incident report and asked why the front end code changed after the site was back online.

Considering the above and multiple other posts about the IEC site crash, which I do not fully understand because I am not an IT dev expert, however the concerns raised by IT experts triggered a significant concern in the capturing of the results. For transparency and integrity, I therefore submitted a section 55 objection requesting the incident report because voters have a right to be informed know this information (Image 2). The IEC has yet to respond to my objection and request for the incident report.

CODE CHANGE

13. Image 2:
"On the left is the code when the site "crashed" and on the right is the code that returned to fix the crash.
By removing that code highlighted, any numbers that may have changed we would not be able to see e.g if they correctly entered the count at first we would see the that like anc-150 da-29 . Then if they they decided to tweak the same voter count numbers for the specific region we would see that the numbers suddenly drop like anc - 100 da-29. So by removing that code, the voter count was hidden from everyone and any manipulation to that voter count would also not be visible."

Conclusion:
Based on the above sequence of events, significant concerns have been raised regarding the integrity and transparency of the election results process due to the IEC system crash and subsequent code changes. The IEC's communication and handling of the system outage, coupled with the lack of clarity on the code modifications and their potential impact on the results, casts doubts about the fairness and transparency of the election results process.

The system downtime, the delayed announcement of the objection deadline, the rush to declare the results, are valid concerns to investigate if there was vote manipulation or not, especially the concerns highlighted by IT experts all point to a need for thorough scrutiny of the IEC results process at the Capture centre, and the IEC system downtime, and code changes.

Given the fundamental right of voters to free, fair, and transparent election processes, it is imperative that the IEC addresses these concerns promptly and transparently including providing a copy of the incident report when the system was offline as a critical step in ensuring accountability and restoring public confidence in the electoral process.Image

🗳️🚨The National Assembly total votes at 10.02% counted are way too high compared to the provincial legislature votes counted.

📍Voters completed 3 ballot papers
📍Aren’t all 3 Ballot boxes counted at the same time?
📍And therefore the results for the number of votes should be the same?

National:
ANC - 333,729
DA -207,770

Compare to the provincial vote count:
ANC - 41,620
DA - 49,455

Why is there such a large difference between 🧵👇🏽

Please help: my mathematical brain is in knots trying to make sense of the numbers

🚨NGOs | ROLE in South Africa | Alliance for a Wider Strategy

The Rise Mzansi newly formed donor WATP is formed as a Voluntary Association, an NGO.

I learnt this week that NGO laws were introduced in South Africa in 1997. Remember this date for future discussions.

1️⃣ From my reading about nuclear power and renewable energy independent power producers (IPPs) in South Africa I came across one article published on 4 November 2016 headline, “Molefe softens stance after snubbing R58bn worth of IPPs” written by Matthew le Cordeur and Gareth van Zyl.

These sections in the article shocked me
🧵👇🏽Image
2️⃣ “Legal action in electricity sector can be used as a tool, he explained. IPPs can lodge complaints…” Image
3️⃣ “IPPs should not only see the legal route as their only option. “Legal action is BEST USED as part of a WIDER STRATEGY for social goals,” he warned. “You need ALLIANCES if you want to achieve your goal.” Image
