GB "News" is jointly owned by Paul Marshall & Legatum, under the umbrella of holding company All Perspectives: three of its significant shareholders work for Christopher Chandler's Dubai-based investment firm Legatum & three Tory life peers are shareholders or Directors. Image
The five people listed as having 'significant control' over GB "News" umbrella holding company All Perspectives Ltd are: Philip Vassiliou; Paul Marshall; Richard Douglas; Alan McCormick; & Christopher Chandler.

The House of Lords Register of Interests reveals three Tory life peers are Directors or shareholders of All Perspectives: Lord Agnew of Oulton & Baroness Morrissey are Directors; Lord Farmer is a Shareholder.

I've posted numerous times about GB "News" co-owner hedge-funder Christian Paul Marshall, whose hedge fund has $2.2 BILLION invested in fossil fuels, whose 'ARC' initiative is fronted by Jordan Peterson, & whose media empire now includes The Spectator.

Philip Vassiliou resides in the UAE & is Chief Investment Officer & a Partner of Dubai-based Legatum, the other co-owner of GB "News", founded by billionaire Christopher Chandler, who made a fortune in Russian gas, & which uses Matt Goodwin as an Advisor.

Vassiliouhas has been with Legatum since its inception in 2006 & is responsible for the oversight of Legatum’s capital markets activities. Prior to Legatum, he worked for the Dubai Development Investment Authority, and in the Equities & Private Wealth divisions of Goldman Sachs. Image
Dubai-based Alan McCormick, co-founder of the Legatum Group which owns the Legatum Institute, an influential pro-Brexit think-tank that has taken donations from the American Koch oil dynasty also based in the UAE, is the chairman of GB "News". Image
Between 2013 and 2017, McCormick tweeted numerous articles by climate science deniers, including one calling on readers to “celebrate carbon dioxide”, sharpening concerns about GB News’s role as a platform for opponents of climate action.

Little-known Canadian, Richard Douglas, is a data security & privacy protection expert & co-founder of Island Pay, a digital payment platform facilitating cashless payments. His country of residence is the Cayman Islands - a tax haven & money-laundering centre for the ultrarich. Image
Since 2021, Douglas, who left Island Pay in 2024, has been CEO of Costa Rica-based CiNKO, 'a stablecoin payment platform for conducting financial transactions' & part of a crypto movement introducing decentralized finance protocols in Latin America. Its @X account follows SpaceX. Image
GB "News" was co-founded by All Perspectives, that was owned by two British-American businessmen, Andrew Cole & Mark Schneider, who resigned as Directors from, & sold their shares in, GB News in 2022, after Marshall & Legatum purchased their holdings.

Cole founded FinTech company Glow. Schneider co-founded UPC. They associate with Trump-supporting billionaire media baron John Malone, the second-largest private landowner in the US, & chair of Liberty Global which owns Virgin Media & has a stake in ITV.
What about the three Tory life peers who are Directors or shareholders of holding company All Perspectives (Lord Agnew of Oulton & Baroness Morrissey are Directors, & Lord Farmer is a Shareholder)?

In April last year, Paul Marshall announced he was stepping down from the GB "News" Board. He was replaced on the board of the broadcaster’s owner by Theodore Agnew, a former Treasury and Cabinet Office minister.

Lord Agnew was also appointed as chair of Unherd Ventures, which owns Unherd, another media outlet with Marshall as a major investor, which was subject to an advertiser boycott after being put on a blacklist by the Global Disinformation Index.

The Chairman of the West Midlands Police Federation, Richard Cooke, has been suspended after he branded racism allegations as "nonsense" on social media after a former chief inspector alleged racism & homophobia were rife within the force.

Policing is hard. The Police Federation of England and Wales is the statutory staff association for police constables, sergeants, inspectors, chief inspectors & special constables in the 43 territorial police forces in England & Wales. Cooke is Chair of the West Midlands branch.
Under UK labour law, the police are prohibited from joining ordinary trade unions to defend pay and working conditions, by the Police Act 1996, because of the view that a police strike would pose an exceptional public safety risk.

🧵Trump has assigned Musk a chilling task: To dismantle & destroy large parts of the federal government. Musk wants us to call this project by a humorous & innocent-sounding name: the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE).

#Framing is important.

First, Musk's project is not an official Dept, so it's not factual to call it one.

Second, the goal of Musk's project is destruction, not "efficiency." Efficiency is when you make something work better. Musk clearly seeks to eliminate, not improve, large parts of government. Image
Finally, Musk has named his project after a meme, DOGE, a crypto scam named for a Shiba Inu dog. He's treating it all as a joke. But the destruction of government is deadly serious, and there's no reason why everyone should automatically participate in Musk's juvenile antics. Image
