1/ Last Monday (January 6, 2025), three Israeli settlers were murdered while driving through the village of Al Funduq. This occurred just days after the Israeli government announced the plan to begin paving a bypass road east of the village. >> Image
2/ We wrote about this road 2 years ago, when the head of the military Central Command at the time issued a "temporary" seizure order for "security needs" in order to seize 219 dunams of agricultural land that belongs to the residents of Al funduq, Haje & Jinsafut. >>
3/ The village of Al Funduq is the only Palestinian village still intersected by Route 55 - the Qalqilya - Nablus road. Unlike all other sections of the route, along which the settlements of Alfei Menashe, Ma'ale Shomron, Karnei Shomron, and Kedumim were established >>
4/ in these sections, the route has been repaved by Israel as bypass roads. >>

Here's A link to the post we published in March 2023 about this road bit.ly/4gUa6xA
5/ A few days before the murder, Yossi Dagan, the head of the serial law violator the Samaria Regional Council, said in Israel Hayom newspaper that "Our response to terrorism is building the country". Once again, it seems that "terror" has its own responses. >>
6/ More than a week has passed since the murder, and the village of Al Funduq remains paralyzed. Soldiers with drawn weapons guard the entrances, all shops are closed. Settlers have threatened to prevent Palestinians from reopening their businesses. >>
7/ Ozel Vatik, head of the law breaking local council of Kedumim, whose criminal actions we detailed here recently, sent the following message to the residents of the isolated and violent settlement that is under his authority: >>
8/ "The shops in Al Funduq will not open tomorrow. Period. Over the past few days, I have been applying relentless pressure on political, military, and police officials with one clear goal: The security situation will not return to what it was. At the same time I'm pressuring >>
9/ all levels for the immediate demolition of the illegal shops in the village. We will not stop until this is done. These shops are illegal, pose a security risk, and their destruction must send a clear message not only to our enemies but to ourselves, that our lives matter. >>
10/ I have also told the authorities: if necessary, we, as a public, will fight for the closure of these illegal shops. Don't make us do it, we trust you to act decisively so that the past will not repeat itself". >>
11/ It is obvious that the settlers are following the Huwara model, where the residents of Huwara were held hostage by both the settlers and the army, and the local economy crashed. >>
12/ This was as a revenge for the murder of settlers that occurred within the village. This is the horrifying and escalating cycle that most Israelis have chosen to impose on both Palestinians and themselves for decades.

1/ Last Thursday (January 2, 2025), an interesting article was published in Haaretz, detailing how the coup plot was orchestrated by the Justice Minister Yariv Levin and his close associates. >> Image
2/ It turns out that the key figure in shaping this coup is none other than Dr. Aviad Bakshi, a prominent member of the far right Kohelet organization. >>
3/ According to the report, Bakshi met multiple times with Levin and his associates to craft the coup laws in the most precise way, aligned with the Justice Minister’s vision. >>

1/ On December 9, 2024, the Civil Administration issued an "announcement of the intention to amend the area of jurisdiction of the settlement of Geva Binyamin". >> Image
2/ For those unfamiliar, “Geva Binyamin” is the official name of the isolated and violent settlement of Adam, located a few kilometers north of Jerusalem's municipal border since June 1967. >>
3/ The settlement of Adam was established in the early 1980s on lands that Israel looted from the Palestinian village of Jaba’, by declaring them as State Land. >>

1/ The isolated and violent settlement of Ofra is home to ambitious individuals driven to change the world. Among them are journalists, publicists, teachers, educators, public officials, civil servents, members of various organizations. >> Image
2/ A few of them are even aspiring to high judicial positions. Last March, we wrote about one of them: Ariel Erlich. a member of the legal department of the far right Kohelet organization, one of the forces behind the regime coup in Israel. >>
3/ Attorney Erlich, previously served as a legal assistant to the Supreme Court Judge Noam Solberg. Recently, he tried to be appointed as a judge in the Magistrate's Court. For now the appointment has not yet been successful, however Erlich is still young. >>

1/ Mr. Yossi Segal, who holds the title of “Custodian of Abandoned and Governmental Property in Judea and Samaria”, is a very busy man. >> Image
2/ Last month, we reported here on a declaration he signed, designating new State Land for the cemetery of the isolated and ultra violent settlement of Yitzhar. >>
3/ Today, we turn our attention to yet another declaration that was signed by Mr. Segal last week (December 9, 2024), this time aimed at the expansion of probably the most bourgeois settlement in the West Bank, Har Adar. >>

1/ Here is a story: A little over a month ago, a number of bulldozers appeared one morning on a nearby hill west of the Palestinian village of Bardala. Alongside the bulldozers came soldiers guarding the work and the equipment. >> Image
2/ At no stage were the villagers officially informed of the purpose of the construction, who had authorized it, or how long it would last. No military order or plan was presented to them in order for them to understand what is the scope of the area or the nature of it. Nada. >>
3/ It took a few days for the residents to realize that the army had started constructing a broken road, cutting through the area from north to south, and placing rocks alongside it. >> Image

1/ On 23/09/2024, the Supreme Planning Committee of the Civil Administration approved Master Plan 208/3/3 for submission to public objections. The plan, covering an area of approximately 142 dunams, aims to expand the religious/ ultra-Orthodox settlement of Ganei Modi'in. >> Image
2/ The settlement of Ganei Modi'in was established in the early 1980s on lands belonging to the villages of Ni'lin and Al Midya. >>
3/ Typically, a submission of a Master Plan for the expansion of settlements is a common matter that we usually do not write about here. However, Master Plan 208/3/3 is far from ordinary. >>
