I’m encouraged by today’s ceasefire deal and the preliminary framework for a release of hostages, and the provision of additional humanitarian aid.
We must hope and pray that this is the beginning of the end of the war and the release of all hostages.

Since Hamas’ unprovoked and brutal attack on Israel on October 7th, we have witnessed an unimaginable human tragedy. The news of a cessation of hostilities is deeply welcome.
Ultimately, the region will not be secure until Hamas no longer maintains its iron grip on the governance of Gaza, threatening both Palestinians and Israelis who want to live in peace and security.
The United States will continue to stand with Israel and will continue to ensure that our closest ally and the only democracy in the region has the support it needs to defend itself.
I want to thank the Biden Administration for their tireless work to reach this ceasefire deal, and I look forward to the return of many of the hostages, including several Americans, to their families and communities.

Today, there will be no organized objection to the results of a free and fair election by the sitting President, no mob that marches on the Capitol at the incitement of the President.
Today, there will be no officers maced by rioters or crushed in the doors of this hallowed institution, no offices desecrated or windows smashed by insurrectionists.
Today, there will be an orderly certification of the electoral vote, paving the way for the peaceful transfer of power.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve all Californians as their next United States Senator.

My family came to the Golden State when I was a child in the hope of finding a strong economy, safe neighborhoods, and good schools.
And we found all that we could hope for in each of these respects.
Today our state faces significant challenges in the form of a very high cost of living and incomes that have simply not kept pace.
In the Senate, I will do everything I can to bring people together to tackle our housing crisis, create an economy that works for everyone, and bring down rising costs from health care to childcare.
As the former chair of the House Intelligence Committee, I wanted to share some quick thoughts on reports that the Trump campaign was hacked, potentially by foreign malign actors:
(Thread🧵)
First, the Intelligence Community should move with great alacrity to declassify and disclose any appropriate information it has concerning the potential foreign nature of this interference.
Transparency is still our best deterrent against foreign influence operations.
In 2016, the Intelligence Community moved much too slow to properly identity the hacking and dumping scheme carried out by Russia to divide Americans and benefit the Trump campaign.
In fact, it would do so only after it was disclosed to the public by Senator Feinstein and me.
The IC has since made improvements, but should act quickly here.
This week, Trump became an unindicted co-conspirator over his efforts to overturn the election in Arizona.
Yesterday he continued to claim complete immunity for January 6th and other acts.
His threats to democracy are more brazen than ever.
Let’s break them down.
(Thread 🧵)
In 2020, Trump and his team pursued a scheme to designate "fake electors" in seven states - Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
The goal was to overturn @JoeBiden's lawful election as President.
In Arizona, seven of Trump's top aides – as well as eleven fake electors – were indicted this week for their role in these efforts.
Trump, while not charged, is listed as “Unindicted Coconspirator #1."
I have warned for months that Azerbaijan was openly implementing a genocidal campaign against the innocent civilians of Artsakh.

Today, Azerbaijan proved itself once again to be a ruthless aggressor, launching unprovoked attacks in Artsakh that have destroyed a school, killed at least one child and 24 adults, and injured more than 100 others.

We must halt ethnic cleansing and stop a second Armenian Genocide. I call on the Biden Administration to take immediate action:

With this new Georgia indictment, our democracy and the rule of law will again be put to a test.
And just like the DOJ’s last indictment, what stands out to me is how closely the facts set out in the indictment track the evidence we uncovered on the Jan 6th Committee.

The many Trump phone calls to Republican leaders in AZ, PA, MI, and GA as part of his pressure campaign.
Trump’s badgering of Secretary of State Raffensperger and others.
The resulting danger and death threats to election workers.

One of the most astonishing new aspects of this indictment is the unlawful breach of secure voting equipment and voter data in Coffee County, Georgia.
That data was then distributed to other people who were part of the conspiracy.
