ethereum leaders are urgently discussing “blobs,” and while it might sound technical, this directly impacts YOU as a user. here’s why it matters:
Firstly, WTF are blobs?
blobs are like extra luggage storage for L2s. blobs help L2s temporarily store data on ethereum L1 which keeps everything organized and prevents over congestion.
why do blobs matter for you?
1. lower fees:
when blobs are available and affordable, rollups keep transaction fees low. this makes it cheaper for you to trade, mint nfts, or interact with your favorite apps.
2. faster transactions:
blobs help L2s process transactions quickly. if blob space runs out, rollups slow down, which can cause delays for your txs.
3. you don’t miss out:
here’s the big one…when transactions slow down, you could miss opportunities for: a diabolical cook, a generational play, a bloodline chant.
what’s the problem right now?
1. blob space is filling up fast: you guys are using the chains so much (kinda dope tbh). the upcoming ethereum upgrade (pectra) will increase blob capacity temporarily, but at the current rate of growth, blob congestion will return to all time highs by may 2025. this will push fees higher, slow down transactions, and hurt the user experience.
2. short-term fixes won’t be enough:
unless ethereum increases blob limits now, L2s will soon hit a scaling wall which isn’t great because then they will need to focus on managing congestion instead of all the other cool things they could be doing
what’s being proposed?
1. increase blob capacity now:
people are urging ethereum L1 to raise blob limits in the pectra upgrade. this would give rollups more breathing room and ensure fees and speeds stay user-friendly.
2. buy more time for long-term solutions: future upgrades like “peerDAS” will make blob storage even more efficient, but they’ll take time to implement. increasing blob space MORE in pectra buys time to focus on these improvements.
3. optimize blob usage:
rollups are exploring ways to use blob space better, like submitting data faster and merging different storage types into one simpler system. these are technical innovations the smartest minds are heads down on
if ethereum acts now to increase blob capacity in pectra, it ensures fees stay low, transactions stay fast, and you don’t miss out on key opportunities as a user. we all need to act now to ensure its rollup ecosystem stays ready for mass adoption; i still gotta get my grandad on here guys so let’s scale this.
TLDR: sound the alarms 🚨 RT blob increase requests, tag the ethereum intern (sorry bro), rally rally rally Ethereum is for all of us and we can all get involved in how it is shaped!! That’s the beauty of it.

adding cryptography to ai..some weekend thoughts 🧵
imagine an agent so intimately woven into your daily life that it’s almost a second brain. it checks your emails, invests your money, and even makes deals on your behalf.
but here’s the key question: how will you trust it?
leading researchers predict personal ai agents will become as common as smartphones in the next decade (see de lange et al)
these agents won’t just answer queries; they’ll evolve with you, learning from every email, transaction, or conversation you have.
BUT the risk today is that if they’re compromised or manipulated, then well...you're f*cked.
the privacy dilemma:
these ai agents will handle everything from financial transactions to sensitive health data. one breach could expose it all. so how do we solve this?
1. secure hardware enclaves (tees): run sensitive computations in isolated hardware zones, even if the OS is compromised, the data remains encrypted within the enclave. see the work of @sxysun1 @socrates1024 @ropirito @NousResearch @flashbots_x to see what this looks like for agents.
2. zero-knowledge proofs: prove an agent followed your instructions (e.g., made a correct calculation) without revealing the raw data.
the ethereum pectra upgrade is coming. it’s one of the most ambitious upgrades yet.
here is what you need to know 🧵
so, what is pectra?
pectra = prague + electra.
it’s ethereum’s glow-up.
let’s dive in.
first, the process:
teams tested over 100 devnets during an event in kenya (nyota interop). they tried everything. from there, they narrowed down 20+ ideas into 11 that are ready for prime time.
⚠️ You're about to hear the word 'Attestation' throughout ETH Denver; here's why it is important: 👇 🧵
To attest is to say something about something. E.G. "His name was Robert Paulson." We do this all the time in our daily lives; e.g when you sign into your email account, you attest that it is you.
Blockchains have attestations, too; when you sign a transaction, you use your private keys to attest that it is you. If someone goes to your txn history, they can see that you 'attested' to a contract.
