The police has mislead the public about events in Whitehall and Trafalgar Square, claiming the Palestine coalition attempted to push through police lines. Our footage shows the truth. WATCH ⬇️(1/6)
As the full video of his speech shows, PSC Director @BenJamalpsc called for a small delegation of speakers, including MPs, cultural figures and a Holocaust survivor to peacefully walk to police lines and seek permission from the police to lay flowers at the BBC. He explicitly highlighted that if the police blocked the delegation, they would stop and lay flowers at the feet of the police. (2/6)
The delegation walked peacefully up to the police line at Whitehall with their flowers and requested to be let through. Our footage clearly shows the Police choosing to beckon them through. (3/6)
After being waved through by the police, the delegation then approached the second police line at Trafalgar Square where they were refused permission to move further. Head steward @ChrisNineham of @STWuk then again requested the delegation be allowed to continue to the BBC, at which point he was violently arrested by police. (4/6)
At this point PSC Director @BenJamalpsc called for the delegation to return to Trafalgar Square and disperse. This was then done exactly as highlighted from the stage. (5/6)
The police’s actions, including their false statements after the event, are a direct assault on freedom of assembly and democracy. We demand the immediate release of all those arrested and remain resolute in our campaign for freedom and justice for the Palestinian people. (6/6) Image

We welcome the ceasefire agreement with immense relief.

But make no mistake –Palestinians are continuing to face down Israel’s genocide, settler-colonialism, military occupation and apartheid  🧵(1/10)
In Gaza, Israel’s genocide has caused absolute devastation. Entire neighbourhoods have been obliterated. Life sustaining infrastructure like hospitals and water sanitation facilities have been destroyed. The entire population has been left facing famine. (2/10)

A United Nations report says that it could take more than 350 years to rebuild if Israel’s siege and military occupation remains.

Rebuilding Gaza necessitates an end to Israel’s occupation and apartheid. (3/10)

The Met Police is shamefully trying to excuse its repressive actions today and violent conduct towards protestors including the Head Steward from @STWuk Chris Nineham. 🧵 👇
The reality is this. As shown in this video at the end of the rally, it was announced from the stage that a delegation including MPs, trade union leaders, the leaders of the Palestine Coalition and cultural figures would walk silently and peacefully towards the BBC to protest at its complicity and at the attempt to suppress our right to do so. We made clear if stopped by police we would leave the flowers we were carrying at their feet.
This video shows us doing just that and encouraging the crowd that had gathered around us to do the same, which they did, in a disciplined, organised way and return to Trafalgar Square.

Today is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

As Palestinians continue to face down and resist Israel’s genocide, occupation and apartheid, we will act in solidarity until they achieve freedom, justice and return🧵(1/6) Image
The international day of solidarity comes as Palestinians continue to face the darkest hour in their struggle for liberation.

Israel continues to inflict almost unimaginable horrors on Palestinians in its live-streamed genocide – armed and backed by Britain. (2/6)
Today, we remember the words of BDS movement co-founder Omar Barghouti.

“Do not give up hope or fall into complacency, you have not earned it. You can do better. Do better.”

TODAY we have delivered our complaint to @Ofcom signed by nearly 35,000 people - over 700 pages of names - demanding they investigate @SkyNews misleading coverage of Maccabi fans’ racist violence in Amsterdam. (1/4)
@SkyNews coverage is indicative of, and contributes to, a prevalent anti-Palestinian bias in the British media that dehumanises Palestinians and obscures the truth of Israel’s genocidal violence, crucial to enabling it. (2/4)
The racist violence perpetrated by Maccabi fans was not an isolated event. We reiterate the call of our Palestinian partners for @UEFA and @FIFAcom to ban apartheid Israel from world football and to stop shielding it from accountability. (3/4)

Earlier this month, it was reported that Barclays had sold its shares in Elbit Systems.

We warned that @Barclays had given no assurance that it wouldn’t re-invest, and today, Barclays latest quarterly filing shows that the bank once again holds shares in Elbit Systems 🧵1/5
While this investment is substantially smaller than its previous level of investment in Elbit Systems, it indicates the bank has made no decision to divest.  2/5
In addition, as shown by our research with @CaatUK and @WarOnWant, Barclays continues to invest and provide financing worth billions to eight other companies arming Israel’s genocide. 3/5
