The banning of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending the game in Birmingham should be understood in the context of their track record of committing racist violence in the cities hosting their team’s games, but also the club’s involvement in Israel's apartheid system. 🧵 (1/9) Here are the fans that Starmer wants to be able to maraud through Birmingham. One of their chants is “Why is school out in Gaza?  There are no children left there”, referring to the over 20,000 Palestinian children killed in Israel’s genocide.

🚨 Keir Starmer is facing a revolt from trade unions and Labour members tomorrow morning at party conference over his refusal to admit Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza.
There will be a vote on a motion that acknowledges the genocide and demands a full arms embargo. 🧵 1/4 The motion is supported by trade unions — it’s proposed by @unisontheunion and seconded by @ASLEFunion — and has been supported by dozens of Constituency Parties.
It comes after Labour was forced to back down, having previously ruled out 30+ motions sent by party members. 2/4

🚨It’s working - new data has revealed that Israeli imports to the UK are plummeting due to our consumer boycott campaign.📉

We must continue to grow the mass boycott to isolate and weaken genocidal Israel’s apartheid regime. (1/7) Image Our Don’t Buy Apartheid campaign calls on all individuals and businesses to boycott Israeli produce, and Coca-Cola and its brands.

We are sorry to see Gary Lineker stepping away from the BBC – a shameful moment for the publicly funded broadcaster following months of pressure from pro-Israel lobby groups in response to his speaking out against the genocide Israel is unleashing upon Palestinians. 1/12 Lineker rightly shared a video last week in which Diana Buttu, a prominent Palestinian lawyer and human rights activist, detailed the realities of Zionism as the ideology that privileges the rights of one group of people over another. 2/12

BREAKING: Susan Sarandon, Frankie Boyle and Olivia Cooke are among the 600+ signatories on an open letter condemning the @BBC following its refusal to air the documentary “Gaza: Medics Under Fire”. 1/5

variety.com/2025/tv/news/s… The documentary features Palestinian doctors and health workers in Gaza testifying to their experience surviving and saving lives in the midst of a genocide, making this latest instance of the @BBC’s silencing of Palestinians particularly appalling.

MAJOR VICTORY! Rector Stella Maris has WON her appeal against the University of St Andrews University, reinstating her roles to the University Court, and as a charity trustee, from which she was dismissed after calling for an end to Israel’s genocide and apartheid. 1/5

thecourier.co.uk/fp/politics/52… PSC was proud to support the Rector alongside @elsclegal , academics, and students, in her fight against the university’s discriminatory attempts to undermine freedom of expression and academic freedom. 2/5

Today is Land Day, held to honour Palestinian land defenders resisting Israel’s colonisation and apartheid.

As Palestinians face down Israel’s genocide and ethnic cleansing, we must reaffirm our solidarity with their struggle for freedom and return. (1/10) Image In 1976, Palestinians inside Israel faced a renewed threat of state seizures of their land. They called a general strike and protests against these land grabs. Israeli forces cracked down, killing 6 people, injuring and arresting hundreds. (2/10) Image

🚨Israel is blocking the entry of ALL humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, while killing Palestinians by drone strikes. This is a continuation of  genocide. 🧵(1/5) The effect of this blockade will be devastating. After 17 months of genocide, there are severe shortages of essential supplies.

With temperatures dropping, it's been reported that seven newborn babies have died of hypothermia in the past week. (2/5)

This week 800+ media figures and over 16k members of the public have condemned the @BBC for removing “Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone” which documented Palestinian children in Gaza who have been enduring and surviving Israel’s genocide (1/8)

artistsforpalestine.org.uk/2025/02/26/500… Last night the @BBC shamefully reaffirmed its decision to censor the experiences of these Palestinian children, providing legitimacy to those attempting to smear them, and casting doubt on Palestinians and pro-Palestinian voices (2/8)

🚨HUGE VICTORY! Yesterday the High Court rejected @Cambridge_Uni application for an unprecedented 5 year ban on protests in solidarity with Palestine from key sites of the university, following an intervention from @elsclegal 🧵(1/5)

independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-n… PSC was proud to support students and staff, alongside @elsclegal, @libertyhq, @ucu and @yourcambridgesu to oppose this unprecedented attack on the right to protest, which sought to single out in particular those protesting in solidarity with Palestine, subjecting them to restrictions not applied to protestors on any other issue (2/5)

Tomorrow @Cambridge_Uni will go to the High Court seeking to impose an unprecedented ban on protests in solidarity with Palestine from key sites of the university. This is a major assault on longstanding principles of freedom of expression and assembly on campus. (1/8) The injunction sought by @Cambridge_Uni singles out those protesting in solidarity with the Palestinian people and would subject them to restrictions not applied to protestors on any other issue. If granted, it will remain in place until 2030 – long after current students have graduated. (2/8)

We welcome the ceasefire agreement with immense relief.

But make no mistake –Palestinians are continuing to face down Israel’s genocide, settler-colonialism, military occupation and apartheid  🧵(1/10) In Gaza, Israel’s genocide has caused absolute devastation. Entire neighbourhoods have been obliterated. Life sustaining infrastructure like hospitals and water sanitation facilities have been destroyed. The entire population has been left facing famine. The police has mislead the public about events in Whitehall and Trafalgar Square, claiming the Palestine coalition attempted to push through police lines. Our footage shows the truth. WATCH ⬇️(1/6) As the full video of his speech shows, PSC Director @BenJamalpsc called for a small delegation of speakers, including MPs, cultural figures and a Holocaust survivor to peacefully walk to police lines and seek permission from the police to lay flowers at the BBC. He explicitly highlighted that if the police blocked the delegation, they would stop and lay flowers at the feet of the police. (2/6)

The Met Police is shamefully trying to excuse its repressive actions today and violent conduct towards protestors including the Head Steward from @STWuk Chris Nineham. 🧵 👇 The reality is this. As shown in this video at the end of the rally, it was announced from the stage that a delegation including MPs, trade union leaders, the leaders of the Palestine Coalition and cultural figures would walk silently and peacefully towards the BBC to protest at its complicity and at the attempt to suppress our right to do so. We made clear if stopped by police we would leave the flowers we were carrying at their feet.

Today is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

As Palestinians continue to face down and resist Israel’s genocide, occupation and apartheid, we will act in solidarity until they achieve freedom, justice and return🧵(1/6) Image The international day of solidarity comes as Palestinians continue to face the darkest hour in their struggle for liberation.

Israel continues to inflict almost unimaginable horrors on Palestinians in its live-streamed genocide – armed and backed by Britain. (2/6)
