1./ What's the truth about Neil Gaiman and Scientology? Was his allegedly abusive behaviour influenced by his immersion in a pathological cult? Gaiman claims he was a member only as a child but in my latest article I argue this can't be true.

2./ Gaiman's parents were leading Scientologists when he was a boy. Most of his family still are. Here's his mother Shiela and sister Lizzy joining him in 2013 for the naming of a street after a semi-autobiographical novel. Both are nothing short of Scientology royalty.

3./ In the book a 7 year old's life is upended by a suicide. When Gaiman was 7 Scientology was plunged into crisis when a South African Scientology student committed suicide at the Gaimans' home. Just as Neil Gaiman now denies allegations of abuse his dad concocted a mad story.

4./ David Gaiman claimed the victim wasn't a Scientology student even though his immigration card said that's what he was. Mysteriously, this "non Scientology student" felt fit to leave suicide letters insisting Scientology had nothing to do with his death. The whole case stank.

5./ Gaiman's parents were among the earliest recruits to Scientology in the UK and it's been alleged they set up the infamous Guardian's Office which ruthlessly attacked Scientology's critics. The tactics used including wiretapping, burglary, intimidation and threats of violence.

6./ This means through Gaiman's childhood and adolescence Scientology was engaged in espionage and black ops across the world. The infiltration of US government departments involved 5000 agents and is considered one of the largest ever attempts at subversion in US history.

7./ When these covert operations were uncovered the Guardian's Office was ostensibly closed though in fact it was folded into the Office of Special Affairs under the control of the man who was to become Scientology's new leader the sinister David Miscavige. He has a Gaiman link.

8./ Miscavige is the same age as Neil Gaiman and also grew up in East Grinstead and as an intimate of the Gaiman family. The recollections of Gaiman's mother Shiela were considered so important Miscavige put them on his website. How long was Neil Gaiman a Scientologist then?

9./ Gaiman may have worked as a high-rank Scientology "auditor" until the 1980s. In 1985 he married his first wife whom he met when she was studying Scientology in East Grinstead. She is now a leading figure in Scientology in the States. The 80s were a big decade for Gaiman. 👉

10./ In 1983 Gaiman's father was expelled from "the Church" for “sexually perverted conduct contrary to the well being or good state of mind of a Scientologist.” In 1986 while working for porn mags Gaiman befriended another crazy cult: transgenderism. Meet bestie Mr Roz Kaveney👇

11./ Trans ideas and Scientology's overlap. "The Church" teaches that 'thetan' souls move from body to body. Biology is a shell just as it is in trans cultology. What's more as former high rank Scientologist Kate Bornstein makes clear in Scientology souls have no gender. Da nah!

12./ Gaiman's Scientology may have continued for another decade. His family run many companies with links to "the Church". Centrepoint Ltd is alleged to buy and sell property for the cult. Neil Gaiman, it turns out, was a company director until 1999. Why does all this matter?

13./ Gaiman denies sexual abuse of women. If the claims are true though his long involvement in a secretive, deceptive cult that bullied, threatened and humiliated anyone who dared to oppose it may have provided him with a template of abusive entitlement.
