wow, my views on the relationship with mental health problems is complicated
1. there are lots of people who seem into "woo", aren't rationalists, and it seems pretty fine for them, they're pretty chill and not high strung nerdsastralcodexten.substack.com/p/are-woo-non-…
2. the state of being a "disembodied" nerd is unhealthy in some ways and there are ways to make improvements on that level, but this idea is often used anti-intellectually to promote bullshit
3. the pursuit of spiritual development (included as recommended by fairly popular mental health books!) by nerds can lead to discrete phase changes in consciousness that often include observable mental health problems and traumatic self harming behaviors in the short term
Imagine a drug that is like the drug in Limitless (NZT-48), it enhances cognition *realistically*, people on the drug "do the obvious rational thing" consistently and are generally smarter
Now imagine you're the first to manufacture NZT-48...
Could you and your friends take over the world using this drug, in part by controlling the supply?
Probably, yes, you could set up much better coordination protocols, including protocols for controlling the supply and bringing in new members.
Subsequently your team could set up logistics to run a mini-civilization much more efficiently than present civilization, by having much better tech and general decision-making/coordination. The first mover advantage may be sufficient to achieve better tech than NZT-48.
The crime was that Leatham [Somni] attacked and injured her landlord with a samurai sword. The landlord shot Leatham 3 times and shot Borhanian. Friedman was told Borhanian died, not confirmed....
Leatham is in the hospital and may be charged with attempted murder of the landlord and murder of [Emma] Borhanian. No news on Danielson, no confirmation or refutation of suicide. No direct contact with Friedman."
having fun with huggingtweets.com, it's like a manic babbling version of me
"My dream is that one day the universe will make a full representation of itself, in ways we never imagined it to being able to do, and which we hope we will get to see." (more below)
"My dream is that this will change the world in ways not already described in the text, and that this will result in a unified reality of mind, in different dimensions than the one that is described here."
"My dream is actually happening. It is reality and I know. It is happening that way to myself."
