The most misunderstood self-help topic:

Dopamine.

It's why you feel tired, depressed and unmotivated.

Here’s how you control your dopamine for maximum motivation (backed by science): Image
Dopamine is a neurotransmitter.

Most people think it's the pleasure molecule.

But it's actually the molecule of craving and pursuing.

Pleasure is the reward you get for pursuing something worthwhile. Image
Dopamine shows you that you're on the right path.

It's release when you achieve a milestone.

Or when you make progress.
Humans are aiming creatures.

We get positive emotion from moving toward a meaningful goal.

The more meaningful the goal, the bigger the dopamine release.
Instant gratification is dangerous because:

• It's fast to get
• It's easy to get
• It's a supernormal stimuli

Limit your consumption to prevent desensitization.
The main danger is getting dopamine without putting in effort.

This trains your brain to learn that you don't need to put in effort to get a reward.
Too much consumption leads to desensitization.

This gives you a numbed pleasure response.

Which means you need more stimulation for the same effect. Image
This means you'll need increasingly more stimulation.

A study in sheep showed that novelty also plays a huge role in this. Image
This is a problem because big peaks also lead to big crashes.

So let's talk about how you can use dopamine properly now...
Intermittent rewards are the key to dopamine use.

Allow yourself to release dopamine intermittently.

This keeps it fun without desensitizing your brain.
Also get your dopamine from the right activities:

• Sauna
• Sunlight
ª Journaling
• Workouts
• Good food
• Meditation
• Cold showers
• Supplementation
• Social connections
When you do this, you maintain a healthy dopamine baseline.

Which is important for motivation and drive.
A dopamine detox can help to restore your motivation.

You need 30 days to reset your dopamine system.

The most valuable skill in the world:

Decision-making.

I studied how Naval and Elon Musk make decisions.

Here's how you make decisions like world-class entrepreneurs: Image

Focus on the most fundamental truths.

Work your way up from there.

Question everything else.
Goal-Setting

It all starts with the goal.

Without a clear goal, you can't make good decisions.

Get clear on the goal and reverse engineer it.

The greatest stoic in history:

Marcus Aurelius.

His private notes still get read by thousands of people today.

Here are 8 of his best short ideas to build an unshakeable mindset: Image
Nobody can make you feel a certain way.

"Choose not to be harmed - and you won't feel harmed.

Don't feel harmed - and you haven't been."

It's all about your interpretation.
You control your feelings.

“If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.”

Control your mind.

The most productive person in the world:

Elon Musk.

He runs 5 billion-dollar companies, has 11 kids, and is going to help run the US.

Here's how you manage your time like the 0,0001%: Image
Focus on high-leverage activities.

Elon spends 80% of his time on engineering and design.

He delegates almost everything else. Image
This is in line with the 80/20 Rule.

This rule states that 20% of inputs lead to 80% of outputs.

Double down on the highest-leverage activities. Image

The best thinker in the world:

Naval Ravikant.

I've spent 100+ hours studying his best ideas.

Here are 8 of his best ideas to help you win in business and life: Image
Hard work isn't enough.

Focus on:

• What you work on
• Who you work with
• How hard you work

Then work hard.
Carefully select who you work with.

• Low energy → laziness
• Low integrity → betrayal
• Low intelligence → incompetence

Find people with high energy, high integrity, and high intelligence. Image
