How about when Target partnered with TomboyX & started selling chest binders and ‘packing underwear’ — they’re still selling the binders, by the way — they just call them compression tops now. (2022)

Ford painted their Ranger Raptors in rainbow colors. Because, apparently, nothing says ‘tough’ quite like a rainbow-painted truck. 🙄 (2022)
The ad is no longer available on Ford’s site, but Wayback Machine tells no lies.

Pantene—yes, the shampoo people—partnered with GLAAD & the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles to make a Christmas-y advert about going home for the holidays. (2019)
I’m sure hair factored into it somehow. Or not.

Gillette features a heartwarming “Dad shows daughter with facial hair how to shave” advert. At least it involved the product Gillette sells. (2019)

Back to Dylan Mulvaney:
Bud Light lost a bucket (or a keg) of money after putting Mulvaney’s mug on a custom beer can and thinking it would be a good idea to advertise the fact. (2023)
The Mayor of London (Sir) Sadiq Khan supports Pride In London billboards in public places featuring young women who have had their breasts amputated. (2004)

As for Balenciaga’s baby girl and bondage teddy bear (2022)—
—I still have no idea what they were thinking.

So, dear Democrats, when you get your knickers (packing variety or not) about a SINGLE advert that said “Kamala is for they/them. President Trump is for you,” have a scroll through time and remind yourselves of what we’ve all had to put up with for the last decade.

First, Military Service by Transgender Persons & Persons With Gender Dysphoria: An Implementation Handbook clearly states:
“Service members will deploy if they are medically qualified to do so”
2/
The Handbook also states:
“If, as a result of any medical treatment, a Service member will be non-deployable per the [Department of Defense’s] deployability policy…that Service member will be treated as would any Service member whose ability to deploy is limited”
Trump’s latest Executive Action (not an Executive Order, btw) demands the Federal Aviation Administration return to merit-based hiring practices.
This is a good thing. ✈️ 😊
But…the very same DEI policies were in the FAA during Trump’s 1st term! 🧵
1/
The Jan 21 2025 Action states:
“I hereby order the Secretary of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administrator to immediately return to non-discriminatory, merit-based hiring, as required by law. All so-called DEI initiatives, including all dangerous preferencing policies or practices, shall immediately be rescinded”
2/
The FAA’s job/DEI site (via Wayback Machine) at Jan 2024:
“It only makes sense that the workforce responsible for [the FAA’s] mission reflects the nation that it serves.”
Targeted disabilities include “severe intellectual disability” and “psychiatric disability.”
Still being called a ‘fool’ (& worse things) for my tweets about abortion, Federalism, voter turnout in state-level elections, inability to recognize that Roe v Wade spent a half-century being ripe for overturning, & bad understanding of basic civics.
One last ditch effort to engage in a *rational conversation. Read if you like. 😊
🧵 1/
The meta-question:
To the extent one sincerely believes abortion will be completely banned at the federal level (i.e., no woman will have access to an abortion), exactly how will this ban come into being? What must happen in the federal and state legislatures or in the federal and state courts or in the executive branch of the federal government in order for abortion to be illegal throughout the United States.
2/
My position:
I support a woman’s right to an abortion, with certain restrictions (early in pregnancy, woman’s safety / health / life at stake, etc).
I don’t support a zero-restriction ever approach.
I will NEVER support a restriction in cases of r@pe & incest.

Andrew Sullivan is right.
Rachel Levine, @HHS_ASH, must go.
The Assistant Secretary of @HHSGov has been pushing the child butchery known as ‘gender-affirming medicine’ for years, but his recent interference with WPATH age limits is the final straw.
“WPATH, conferred with Levine. They gave her [sic] an early embargoed version of SOC-8, w/ lower age limits for some treatments, & her office responded, horrified. They feared the listing of “specific minimum ages for treatment…under 18, will result in devastating legislation for trans care”
Here they are, the actors who didn’t need Harry Potter to make them famous (because they already were or would have been anyway), and the movies I associate them with.
Lights! Camera! Action!
