@SecRubio @SecDef @PeteHegseth

@DOGE @DOGECommittee

Now is the perfect opportunity to get rid of Leahy Vetting, once and for all.

While almost everyone in the Executive Branch understands / applies its principles as part of our foreign policy, everyone hates the process.

So why not just stop doing it?

See if @LeaderJohnThune @SpeakerJohnson Congress objects.

@OMBpress @russvought @StateDRL @statepm

Our government has done, and continues to do, many things by inertia only.

Just stop doing Leahy Vetting, and see if anyone notices.

Stop doing Leahy Vetting; will anyone notice?

Because @TheDemocrats suck, President @realDonaldTrump has earned the right to govern as 47. @kenmartin73

Many of the USAID agreements etc. can be terminated at the convenience of the government. That’s clearly happening; sorry for the disruption.

Just because the previous Administration chose to fund transgender drag shows in Peru, that doesn’t mean it’s fraud, even if someone in the current Administration doesn’t like it, and rightly so.

Cancel any agreement that’s still valid, pay valid bills, and wind things up.

2/
Sadly, lawfare - to include judge shopping and ex parte nationwide injunctions - means that there will be a lot of unnecessary drama.

But if the USG no longer wants to pay for condoms in Mozambique’s Gaza Province, well, that’s true, and it’s too bad.

@GrageDustin @IlhanMN Yes, I think both our federal government and the Minnesota government have established offices to address missing and murdered Indigenous Women.

Of course, such an office never actually does anything about the issue; it’s just virtue-signaling.

@stevesi28838948 I have a specific suggestion.

for former officials, a very brief time period, just long enough for a threat assessment and making private arrangements, if needed.

Yes, the government should pay for private security based on threat assessments and means-tested.

1/
@stevesi28838948 for private security, the only issue is money.

If a former government official is under threat, and passes the means test, it’s not wrong for the government to pay.

Active-duty personnel need to focus on current officials.

Otherwise, it becomes a boondoggle.

2/
@stevesi28838948 Secretary Pompeo has been a former government official - and private citizen - for an entire presidential term, longer than he served in the Trump 45 Administration.

At some point, he and others must return to private life.

This helps to limit adversaries wasting our time.

@RonaldKessler

I just read your book First Family Detail.

Further re pp. 217 - 219, insufficient magnetometers:

On Wednesday, August 28, 2013, I went to the Mall for the 50th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

To enter the secure area,
basically the Lincoln Memorial and its Reflecting Pool, the magnetometers - 7 or 9, I don’t remember - were set up east of 17th Street, on the west side of the Washington Monument grounds.

I got there very early, over 2 hours before the program began, but it still took forever.
When the program began, I and many others, all of whom got there very early, nevertheless barely entered before everything was over.

And I wondered how this could happen.

Federal property less than a mile or two from the White House.

A long-planned event, not a pop-up.
