This speech is full of half-truths, distortions, misleading claims and outright lies.

Basically living up to every meme, trope and unfair stereotype, of Americans being ignorant morons.

I'll go through each of the claims he made in this segment and what the actual facts are. /1
Quote: "I look to Brussels, where EU Commisars warn citizens that they intend to shut down social media during times of civil unrest, the moment they spot what they've judged to be hateful content."

That's a whopper of a distortion of EU law, that no serious person should make.
Link to the EU law is below, I'll discuss it in the next tweet.

Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 on a Single Market For Digital Services and amending Directive 2000/31/EC (Digital Services Act)

eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2022/2…
The EU can't shutdown social media when "they spot hateful content."

If they could there'd be no social media, which is a giant cesspit of hatred. 🤷‍♂️

Article 51.3(b) says they could restrict access if sites fail to delete criminal content threatening the murder of other humans. Image
Quote: "In this country (Germany) where police have carried out raids against citizens suspected of posting anti-feminist comments online, as part of 'combating misogyny on the internet, a day of action.'"

Unbelievable distortion of what happened in Germany on March 7th, 2024.
Police didn't raid people for posting "anti-feminist" comments.

They arrested 45 men for offences, including the following:

-Threatening rape.
-Threatening to post nude photos of an ex.
-Demanding nude photos from strangers.
-Distributing videos depicting torture of women.
Bundeskriminalamt (BKR) is the name for the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany.

BKR's raids were timed to mark International Women's Day last year.

They didn't arrest a single person for "anti-feminist comments", they arrested men for horrible criminal offences. Image
Quote: "In Sweden, two weeks ago, the government convicted a Christian activist for participating in Quran burnings."

The Swedish government (Riksdag) can't convict anybody. 🤦‍♂️

Swedish courts independent of the government under Chapter 11, Section 3 of their 1974 Constitution. Image
Chief Judge Göran Lundahl fined Salwan Najem 4,000kr (£297 / €356 / $374) with a conditional sentence.

Chapter 16, Section 8 of the 1962 Swedish Criminal Code (Brottsbalk) is below.

It's a crime to express contempt against a group of persons, due to their religious beliefs. Image
Quote: "Most concerningly I look to our dear friends the United Kingdom, where the British government charged a 51-year-old physio and army veteran, with the "heinous crime" of silently praying 50 meters from an abortion clinic."

Dear friends tend not to lie about each other.
Firstly, the "British Government" didn't charge him with a crime and silently praying is not a criminal offence.

He was given a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice by police, on the day of the incident.

Bournemouth City Council took him to court when he refused to pay the fine.
Charge was "failing to comply with Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014."

Breached by where he deliberately chose to stand and what time he chose to stand there.

A little later in the day, or elsewhere, no problem. Image
Quote: "The Scottish government began distributing letters to citizens, whose houses lay within safe access zones, warning them that private prayer, even within their own homes, may amount to breaking the law."

No they didn't. 😂😂😂

Straight-up lie.
The law is titled the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Act 2024.

The full act is below and doesn't take very long to read.

There's nothing whatsoever in that Scottish legislation that criminalises private prayer in your own home.

legislation.gov.uk/asp/2024/10/co…
I know it's a feature of Trumpism, as a philosophy, to have very little understanding of any subject.

Still, if coming to Germany to insult half of Europe, you'd think it'd be a sensible idea to get their facts straight.

USA won't win many friends with this 'diplomacy'.

The reporting by a tabloid on the alleged sexual assault of a young girl looks irresponsible.

Sensationalist reporting that turns out to be inaccurate doesn't help victims of sexual crimes and, worse, incites unrest.

It can, and does, harm victims in measurable ways. /1
CW: Sexual assault

A distressing subject for many, with some estimates of 25%+ of women having been sexually assaulted and even higher estimates sexually harassed.

It would be better to not read on, if the topic is distressing.
The Irish Mirror claimed "a young girl was allegedly raped by an African asylum seeker."

In contrast, other media outlets say a man was charged under Section 2 of the Criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act 1990.

Formerly known as indecent assault i.e. non-consensual touching.

Defamation and disinformation.

Not one woman in Ireland died from cervical cancer due to the actions of Mary Harney or any other politician.

I don't get why people can't just write "vote for Catherine!" instead of undermining cancer screening programmes with unhelpful nonsense. Image
30 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year in Ireland, despite their last test negative.

Names people might know, like Vicky, had an interval cancer.

It's called an 'interval cancer' because diagnosis (biopsy) happens between regular screening intervals. Image
There was nothing, and remains nothing, that anybody can do to avoid interval cancers.

It happens to 30 women every year in Ireland, as mentioned, but also to 400 women every year in England, 600 women in Germany etc.

Cervical screening isn't capable of perfection. Image

Two photos here: 'Ireland then' and 'Ireland now.'

O'Keeffe inviting his legion of far-right American followers to prefer the old photo because white people living in poverty is MAGA utopia.

The old photo does tell an interesting story, though, if anybody is interested. /1 Image
This is the old photo.

It was taken on the morning of June 28th, 1932 to celebrate the Eucharistic Congress.

There's a reason I'll get to, which leads to a very sad story of life in 1930s Ireland, why this photo wasn't taken on Eucharistic Sunday (June 26th) itself. Image
Photograph was commissioned by Mr. Michael Quinn (circled), who decorated the outside of the house with the help of the family.

The house has barely changed, at least structurally, since the photo was taken.

I'll discuss the house itself in more detail later in the thread. Image

One of the most delusional articles I've ever read.

Apparently Bournemouth was a utopian safe-haven for women in the 1980s and 1990s but nowadays, due to immigrants, women get murdered.

Absolute cloud cuckoo land stuff.

I'll give a few facts on this subject re: Bournemouth.
Marie Louise Witt (71) murdered by lodger Francis Mullender (34) on April 26th, 1976 at her home, Keswick Road, Boscombe, Bournemouth.

Marie Joy Wilton (22) murdered by her estranged husband Barry John Webb (26) on February 28th, 1981 at her home, Rochester Road, Bournemouth.
Emma Louise Baker (15, pic) murdered by a stranger Jamie Devitt (21) on March 22nd, 1981 at junction of Southbourne Road and Stourvale Road, Bournemouth.

Elaine Tse (11) murdered by a burglar Peter Shen (21) on November 22nd, 1981 at her home, Landsdown Road, Bournemouth Image

In my area of research, femicide, there was a common theme threatening the safety of girls and women in Epping and nearby areas.

It wasn't "illegal migrants", whatever that's supposed to mean, or immigrants of any description.

I'll go through murders of women and girls. /1 Image
The most famous abduction and murder victim in the surrounding area:

Marie Denise Payne (4) abducted by stranger Colin James Evans (33) on March 11th, 1983 and body found in Epping Forest.

The search for Marie was the biggest operation of its kind in 1983.

R.I.P. Marie ❤️ Image
Judith Anne Knights (19) born on April 20th, 1969 and murdered in Epping Forest by boyfriend, Colin Goundry (18), on August 4th, 1989.

Judith was the beloved youngest child of Sydney and Cynthia Knights (née Pope) and was very close to her sister, Linda (24).

Fox News aired a segment on crime in Ireland, specifically Dublin, on 'The Will Cain Show'.

The most brazen manipulation of statistics you're ever likely to see, lapped up by Trump-voters who don't care if something is true or not.

I'll counter this garbage with facts. /1
Quote: "In the city of Dublin where murder and assault attempts are surging."

Then the graphic claims "114% increase in Murder/Assault Attempts" and at the bottom states "Garda, Dublin Metropolitan Region".

Absolute rubbish.

I'll get to how they produced that "114%" number.
Firstly, there was an increase in murders in the Dublin Metropolitan Region in 2024.

2023: 12
2024: 13

One additional case of murder was recorded, which is not a 114% increase obviously.

13 murders in a population of 2.1 million people is one of the lower rates in the world. Image
