Always a highlight of the Eurovision year, Sanremo is back for the 75th time. And as always, the songs feature many familiar faces from Sanremo past and present. Let's take a closer look at all the connections (a thread 🧵) #sanremo25
Sarah Toscano - Amarcord
"Amarcord" was written with the help of regular writers Federica Abbate and Jacopo Ettorre who previously collabed on "Due" and "Fino a qui", as well as a team of less frequent writers who worked on "No grazie" and "Furore"
Serena Brancale - Anema e core
Another Abbate/Ettorre song, this time with Nicola Lazzerin in the mix. Nicola is making a big debut in this years contest, being behind 4 of the original 30 songs. Serena herself competed in the Newcomers section back in 2015
Olly - Balorda nostalgia
Making his second Sanremo appearance, Olly is once again helped by "Polvere"-writer Julien Boverod. In addition we have Pierfrancesco Pasini in the mix, who worked on "Fino a qui" for Alessandra Amoroso last year
Fedez - Battito
Fedez makes his second appearance as an artist, helped by Abbate and Lazzarin. In addition Alessandro La Caa, who previously wrote songs like "Diamanti grezzi" and "Insuperabile" helped out
Gaia - Chiamo io chiami tu
Making her second Sanremo appearance, Gaia was helped by star writer Davide Petrella (Due Vite/Cenere), as well as Simone Tognini (Sinceramente/Farfalle)
Coma_Cose - Cuoricini
Making their 3rd appearance, Coma_Cose's song features similar songwriters to Gianmaria's "Mostro", including Antonio Filippelli, who also rote songs like "L'amore in bocca"
Tony Effe - Damme 'na mano
Tony makes his Sanremo debut along with Luca Faraone, who is behind two other songs this edition
Elodie - Dimenticarsi alle 7
A regular fan favourite, Elodie is back once again, this time with a new writer team, consisting of "Due vite" songwriters Davide Simonetta and Davide Petrella
Joan Thiele - Eco
Another Federica Abbate song, this time also featuring Simone Benussi (Rocco Hunt's "Wake Up") and Emanuele Triglia (Davide Shorty's "Regina")
Francesca Michielin - Fango in paradiso
Two time silver medalist, Francesca's song was written with the help of "Chiamami per nome" writers Davide Simonetta and Alessandro Raina, who also collabed on "Il mondo prima di te" and Tananai's two entries
Clara - Febbre
Clara is back again, this time with the help of Madame, Dardust as well as Abbate/Ettorre. The writers have won the festival a combined four times. Will this be the fifth?
Rose Villain - Fuorilegge
Another direct returnee, Rose's song was also written by Abbate/Lazzarin. In addition, Andrea Ferrara who helped write Sangiovanni's "Finiscimi" is in the credits
Willie Peyote - Grazie ma no grazie
After a succesful 2021 participation with "Mai dire mai", Willie is back again. Like in 2021, "Grazie ma no grazie" was written by Daniel Bestonzo (L'amore in bocca), but this time Alex "Raige" Vella is also in the mix
Rkomi - Il ritmo delle cose
Making his second appearance, Rkomi's song has many cowriters including fellow competitor Shablo, Jacopo Ettorre and "Insuperabile" cowriter Fransesco Catitti, who also worked on Mahmood's "Tuta gold"
Achille Lauro - Incoscienti giovani
Always eclectic, Achille's entry was written with the help of frequent cowriter Gregorio Calculli, as well as Tananai/Annalisa/Geolier-writers Davide Simonetta and Paolo Antonacci
Brunori Sas - L'albero delle noci
The most boring plot of the edition. The song was written solely by Brunori, who hasn't been involved with any previous entries
Giorgia - La cura per me
A legend of Sanremo herself, Giorgia has cowritten her song with modern day hitmakers Riccardo "Blanco" Fabbriconi and Michele "Michelangelo" Zocca. A recipe for succes?
Shablo feat. Guè, Joshua and Tormento - La mia parola
A big collaboration, but not one with ties to many other entries. Luca Faraone helped write two other songs this year, while Shablo worked on Irama's "Ovunque sarai" and Clementino's "Ragazzi fuori"
Bresh - La tana del granchio
Making his Sanremo debut, Bresh is helped by Giorgio De Lauri, who worked on Sethu's "Cause perse"
Irama - Lentamente
A frequent participant, Irama is helped by Giuseppe Colonnelli who also worked on "Tu no" and "La ragazza con il cuore di latta" for him, in addition to Michelangelo and Blanco
Rocco Hunt - Mille vote ancora
Another returnee, Rocco's song was written with the help of Davide Simonetta, Paolo Antonacci and Simone Tognini. International fans may find it more interesting that the songwriting team behind Emma Muscat's "Out of Sight" was also involved
Modà - Non ti dimentico

Massimo Ranieri - Tra le mani un cuore
A true veteran and double Eurovision representative, Massimo's song was written by Giulia Anania (Fatti bella per te) and Filippo "Nek" Naviani (Fatti avanti amore). In addition, this song marks pop star Tiziano Gerro's Sanremo debut
The Kolors - Tu con chi fai l'amore
Like with The Kolors' other entries, Davide Petrella was involved here. In addition we also see Simone Tognini (Sinceramente) and Edoardo "Calcutta" d'Emme (Mare di guai)
Francesco Gabbani - Viva la vita
As with his 2020 attempt "Vice versa", "Viva la vita" was written with the help of Luigi "Pacifico" De Crescenzo. In addition, Davide Simonetta is also involved

Daria made the superfinal back in 2022 with her hit song "Paranoia". Now she's back, this time with the help of veteran writer Peter Boström and DMGP 2025 entrant Maria Broberg. The two also collaborated on Xannova Xan's song for this year's Greek final
