What is missing from this kind of analysis is the role of globalization in technology production, and the role of law in globalization.

Legally speaking, the international order has a heavy liberal slant, and major liberal powers like the US, UK, and EU are its guarantors.
This is why we are trapped in a cycle of repetitive, disappointing attempts to use the nation-state paradigm to establish Islamic governance - because this is the only legal paradigm compatible with the global markets governed by liberal hegemony.
Interestingly, entire populations in liberal, neo-colonial power centers are turning in large numbers toward local autonomy. This applies to both the left and the right - the left, for ecological reasons, and the right for nationalist, populist reasons.
This is because they recognize that although their technological supply chains are dependent on a high degree of globalization, that this dependence represents a kind of vulnerability is well. More specialized systems (ie. monoculture) also have more single points of failure.
Legally speaking, sharia is tawheed.

This is why every Islamic movement that fulfills the legal requirements to integrate into the global order is a total disappointment to anyone who has a sound understanding of tawheed.
Tawheed is actually in our material as well as spiritual interests, because it necessitates high levels of local autonomy.

Every region that adopts sharia pushes back the hegemony of liberal markets and is a move toward Islamic economic globalization.
Sharia has definite similarities to some aspects of neo-liberalism when it comes to trade policy, and this is conducive to regional specialization and technology, to some extent, but it will never look like Western hegemony for various reasons.
The ideological dimension of the war against liberalism is more important than the kinetic dimension, because belief in the empty promises of the West keeps Muslims from fulfilling their responsibility of jihad more than anything else.
Multiple LEGAL trade blocs to capturing market share from liberal hegemony will dramatically reduce the technological capacity of the entire world.

This is more effective than a military victory, because it can cause liberalism to lose its appeal and moral high ground.
This is why it is so important to educate Muslims about the utter incompatibility of interfacing with the liberal international order not only with TAWHEED but also sound ideological/geopolitical strategy.
We have the deluded and hypocrites arguing that these violations of tawheed are permissible due to necessity, when in reality this strategy only drags us deeper into the mud of dependence on a doomed international system.
You don't need to study geopolitics to understand this, it's sufficient to read what our scholars have said about the obligation of implementing sharia totally for centuries.

In such debates I realize the importance of the book I'm going to publish soon in sha Allah.

The economic system we are living under is fundamentally anti-family, and MUST be in order to function.

It was built on destroying families and must continue to destroy families...
...in order to grow. And it has no goal or objective other than perpetual growth.

This realization is a call to the importance of implementing sharia, because economic systems are expressions of law.

This also relates to the issue of technology, because Islamic sharia...
...does not allow for modern economic organization and it shouldn't, just as a healthy body does not allow for the growth of cancer cells.

"But we can't win wars then!"

I'll reiterate what I've said before. The West and the entire cancerous global economic disease...

It's not an issue of Najd. The old city of Diriyyah is very beautiful.

Rather, it has to do with defying the command of Allah and taking the kuffar as protectors.

The loss of honor and self-esteem that comes with this basically leads to an identity crisis of idealizing...
...or perhaps even idolizing the dominant culture.

First, once you voluntarily enter into an organizational hierarchy (in this case, the Anglo-American international order), you are bound to try to climb the ranks of that hierarchy.
The problem is that when you are a latecomer to the order, and especially if you lack the fundamental values that the order is based upon, you will be at a serious competitive disadvantage. This is also apparent with many attempts of many Arab women to imitate Western fashion...

I actually spent a couple of years working on developing an alternative to the global financial system.

To summarize the experience, every financing offer I got came with contingencies that would have forced integration with the same system I wanted to get Muslims out of.
Also a number of collaborators were pressured to quit by family due to fears about political consequences of being involved in such a project.

This is why I eventually became convinced that military and legal reform must precede financial reform.
The dominant global system itself was originally formed by migration to a hospitable legal environment, mainly by Sephardic Jews leaving southern Europe and moving to Holland and England, where they were able to make local rulers dependent on them.

1. US debt is very real, and it manifests in many ways including a persistent trade deficit. The only reason the US can run this trade deficit is the "exorbitant privilege" of the US dollar as world reserve currency and the petrodollar arrangement. Hence why it is so... Image

A thread on some of the strategic logic behind mass casualty attacks on public place from the viewpoint of Islamic terrorism.

Firstly, the principle is that the best defense is a good offense. Forcing Western countries to take a defensive posture ties up resources...
...that could otherwise be used for offensive operations in Muslim countries. For reference, see Operation Sentinelle in France, which was launched in response to the ISIS attacks in Paris and is ongoing until now.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Op%C3%A9r…
These attacks may provoke some segment of society to want to attack Muslims and Muslim countries more, but most of these hawks are in favor of war against Muslims anyway. For large segments of society, it makes them reconsider the benefits of military operations in Muslim lands.

One of the reasons some people perceive the ummah as being weak or in a state of defeat or humiliation is a lack of patience which manifests as a short-term vision.

If we cultivate a long-term vision and consider those fighting today to be part of a continuous effort...
...we have not lost the war against the West, but merely suffered some setbacks. The only humiliated ones are those who stopped fighting.

With a long enough perspective, we can already see the tide turning back in our favor.
The severity of the struggle and the setbacks we faced, in this long-term view, is actually a source of honor. It's incredible that, faced with the viciousness and power of our enemies, that the Muslims have remained steadfast and carried on the struggle.
