On the issue of the Kamloops 215, all anyone has to do is say "okay, we overreacted to a radar survey, sparking a gross mischaracterization of what remains one of Canada's darkest hours." Slamming every critic as a "denier" is only making this worse.
Everyone knows the survey didn't uncover graves. You can deal with this on its own terms, or allow the truth to be monopolized by the fringe.
What's happening now is intensely damaging. To see so many institutions and voices lining up behind an obvious lie, and to do it literally in the service of "Truth and Reconciliation."
There are voices in this country who want to convince us that it was a good thing to force thousands of children into violent, assimilationist boarding schools. With each day this charade continues, you're giving them the propaganda coup of a lifetime.

A few radio hosts have asked me in recent days how Justin Trudeau could *possibly* alleviate a recession rooted in global economic forces beyond our control. Here's one crazy idea: We could start selling people our ocean of natural gas that they keep begging us for.
"Nope, that's Qatar's job. We'll just be poor, thanks."
"We'll use the gas to replace coal, so it's good for the environment!"
Right now, there is a progressive politician somewhere losing sleep over the fact that his constituents are allowed to use things that function well and make them happy. nationalpost.com/news/canada/ga…
I could be convinced that the whole Canadian gun ban fiasco has been driven in part by the fact that Canada's various hunters and target shooters were exuding unacceptable levels of joy.
If I can characterize the primary difference between Stephen Harper and Justin Trudeau, it's that one appreciated that the majority of the country hated him. The other does not.
I'm thinking we should henceforth employ a Parliament Hill staffer whose only job is to follow around the current PM whispering "remember, most people hate you."
"But, that crowd ..."
"- Canada has 38 million people, and most of them hate you. Most Canadians hate you."
Canada is the most singularly pro-immigration country on earth; it's easily our most admirable national trait. But if the current government was actively trying to awaken Canadian anti-immigration sentiment, it's hard to see what they would be doing different.
Jacking up immigration targets to unprecedented levels while brazenly shrugging at the fact that, given current circumstances, it will make our housing and health-care crises exponentially worse.
Canadians aren't pro-immigration because we're nice. It's because 60 years of federal governments have been very careful about keeping immigration high while minimizing downside. It's a policy choice.
Idea: We have just one federal election where Toronto can't participate, sort of like those elections they had during the US Civil War where the South wasn't present. If literally everything gets better in four years, we give Toronto to Belgium.
Belgium could literally plunder Toronto like a colony and Torontonians would gladly take it all just to see themselves on all those Economist "best European cities" indices.
If things don't get better, we give Toronto to the Americans because fuck it.
To imagine what Trudeau government gun policy looks like to a gun owner, just imagine if motor vehicle laws were set by legislators who had only ever seen cars in movies.
"Speed limits now 20 in all urban areas: Even the slightest tap to the side of a car can cause it to explode."
"Since that guy used an E350 for that vehicular attack in the States, we are henceforth banning all E350s and any other cars that look like it."
