I grew up on the Missouri River near the confluence of the Kaw - I also used to go down to the River. Once again Kendzior is spot on:

When your protein drops, so do cognition, strength due to muscle loss, and overall vitality.

A few years ago a Kalapuya person told me that they controlled-burned off their portion of the Willamette Valley in August, for 2 reasons:

1. to get roasted grasshoppers for protein 👇
because the Chinook People controlled the salmon access at the Falls of the Willamette River - they didn't let salmon go further upstream so you had to go to them to trade.

2. to clean out the underbrush and leave only the very large oak trees which the deer then congregated
under - which made them easier to hunt.

I wonder if we're seeing more of this in immunocompromised littles?
The reason I ask is because there's a reported case of it at Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson Mississippi right now. A friend sent it to me off her FB feed - the kids pic had been posted by his mom. He was covered head to toe in sores.

Here's an excerpt :
