❤️‍🔥🔥🧨1/19 ALERT thread on our aging Air Traffic Control system. TERRIFYING. The GAO says FAA actions are URGENTLY NEEDED to modernize aging systems. This is no joke. "These challenges are due to, among other things, availability of parts, growing airspace demand, and expanding mission needs. FAA anticipates continued growth and forecasts that air travel will increase, on average, by 6.2 percent annually."
2/Last year, FAA found 51 of its 138 systems are "unsustainable" meaning have outdated parts, lack of spare parts, etc Some of the modernization will not be complete for another 10-13 years and no plans to modernize other systems, 3 of which are at least 30 years old. 17 of the most critical systems are an average of 26 years old.
3/Four of the critical systems have no ongoing investments. Image
4/Do you remember when national airspace was shut down in 2023? That was because of the aging ATC. That shut down prompted a review of our ATC system. Of the 105 unsustainable (dangerous) and potentially unsustainable systems, 58 have critical impacts on the safety and efficiency of our national airspace. The FAA has been slow to modernize. "On January 11, 2023, the system became temporarily unavailable to users. To ensure safety, FAA grounded all departing aircraft for about 2 hours to fix the system. The outage caused over 1,300 flight cancellations and almost 10,000 flight delays throughout the day. Some airlines took several days to fully recover."
5/The FAA is failing to "prioritize or establish near-term plans to modernize the system."There are significant gaps in accountability, in some cases no time frames for guidance to increase oversight of investments in the systems. "FAA did not always prioritize or establish near-term plans to modernize the most critical and at-risk systems that were identified by the [2023] assessment."
6/Additionally, when reviewed quarterly, the FAA did not deliver functionality nor did it "consistently monitor high risks." Issues like these "limit FAA's ability to mitigate cost and schedule overruns, increases the risk of system failures, and reduces informed decision making."
7/The FAA is delayed in implementing its NexGen ATC system. NextGen will be the move from a ground-based air-traffic control system that uses radar, to one based on satellite and digital communications. Forget Mars, lookin at you @elonmusk for solutions here.
8/ source for NextGen GAO review. "The FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 requires FAA to operationalize key NextGen programs and sunset its Office of NextGen by the end of 2025."What GAO found👇👇 gao.gov/products/gao-2…Image
9/GAO also found that the airlines are not consistently keeping up with "equipage for certain navigation, communications, and surveillance avionics....aircraft not equipped with advanced avionics for navigation can cause slowdowns at certain airport hubs, even for aircraft that are equipped, since controllers must use procedures that align with each aircraft’s equipage."
10/Also, "FAA faces several other challenges, such as cybersecurity risks, posed by a more internet-based, interconnected NAS; the integration of new airspace entrants (such as drones and commercial spacecraft); and potential spectrum interference from wider use of the fifth generation of mobile communication networks (5G), which could potentially interfere with aircraft navigation systems."
11/The number of FAA ATC modernization investments by acquisition category, 64 total, 16 of which are new investments. Image
12/Navigation equipment (such as approach lighting systems)have been found to have high failure risk. Some of the equipment "cannot be supported or cannot be repaired with personal computer-based equipment"
13/Table of costs for selected ATC systems investments. Completion dates in many cases pushed out several years. Image
14/ These are the 7 recommendations GAO made to the FAA, including better Congressional oversight, establishing time frames and baselines for improvements- you know, the basic stuff required every day in private industry. Image
15/"While the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 requires FAA to report to Congress on its plans to address legacy systems beginning in 2026, in the interim, Congress may not have important information on how FAA is managing risks associated with these systems."
16/ As shown in table below, most of the investments have taken "a significant amount of time to modernize unsustainable or potentially unsustainable systems, impacting FAA's ability" to function safely. Image
17/Big take-away? Government program full of potential waste, lack of accountability for an aging system that could result in disaster. It is taking way too long to deploy the needed changes.
18/Oh, and by the way, FENS or FAA Enterprise Network Services is in process of being implemented. It "will provide FAA with modern ethernet/internet protocol telecommunications infrastructure (e.g. cabling) to, among other things, enable highly available and secure voice and data communications and networking capabilities needed to enable critical operations. FENS was initiated in April 2018. As of May 2024, FAA had not yet established an acquisition baseline, and preliminarily estimated that FENS would cost about $2.0 billion, and be completed in 2038. As of May 2024, FENS had obligated $105 million."

My article on the Loudermilk/Steil @RepLoudermilk @RepBryanSteil @gc22gc @laralogan @Rasmussen_Poll @GenFlynn @SidneyPowell1 @CFWBers
"Optics and Influence More Important than Safety and Security In Advance of January 6 Protests: House Oversight Final Report" This is a well-sourced article but X won't embed links...An important link to my Substack column is at the end. Please share! THREAD/1Image
2/The House Oversight Subcommittee’s final interim report on the Capitol protests reveals that there was “no single cause for what happened at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.” According to the December 17, 2024 report, "optics" and "political influence" played a significant role in security decisions for an event where it was well-known that millions might show up to protest the 2020 Electoral College count 2/
3/One of the most telling signs that safety and security were not a priority for leadership and the intelligence community is the fact that the event wasnever designated as a National Special Security Event (NSSE) The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) August 2021 GAO report questions the decision to not designate J6 as an NSSE or, at a the very least, as eligible for a Special Event Assessment Rating (SEAR).

The letter below, sent to Trump by my friend AJ whom I have gotten to know over the past few years, is a factual reminder of what really happened on J6. I have written several articles on the Capitol protests, one that touches on the police action that day, another that compares J6 to the Lafayette Square riots and why they are comparable and how differently the protesters were treated by the courts and our DOJ, and another on what I think can be understood fairly accurately as planned chaos on J6. Meaning, the actions by politicians and law enforcement leading up to that day were not ones that are normal for events like that one. Normally an NSSE is called to coordinate all IC and LEOs to prevent riots etc. I have written many other articles on J6 but these three are among the most important and have gotten very little attention that matters. You gotta ask yourself why such important, factual information would not be shared or given the attention it deserves. I also helped get out "J6:A True Timeline," one of the most factual, apolitical documentaries on the initial breach and ensuing abuses by Capitol and Metro DC police. These stories are equally important to the ones Julie Kelly has put out. My work on J6 is on Congressional record and is footnoted in multiple letters from Congress. However, most Americans have no clue about what is on the record or in a letter to the DOJ. I am asking you to share these stories widely. My stories support what AJ is alleging in his letter, are straightforward and easy to digest. When Bannon says that few truly understand why J6 is so important, he is correct. It was a turning point in our country because our DOJ was weaponized against innocents OR justice was not carried out properly. Julie has reported extensively on this. I have told you how it fits together and I have brought you the human side. Julie isn't the only one who covered this stuff. We all play a part. Some of my stories below 1/

ALERT!! Thread🚨🚨🚨The Biden-Harris admin has recommenced CHNV parole despite the rampant fraud in the program, including fake SSNs, addresses, phone numbers, and identities both on the sponsor and parolee sides of the applications. The article is below
UncoverDC has covered the border extensively with countless well-sourced articles on how this administration has abused every single rule and law on the books to ensure illegals flood our borders. It continues to be one of the biggest national security threats in history

Making this very clear. I have always seen Trump, for all his flaws, as the man who rose to the occasion yesterday. For me, his love of country, of the working class, of the beauty of our values, his love for his family has ALWAYS been so apparent to me
So his reaction yesterday was no surprise to me and as such, didn't change how I see him. I've always seen the character of this man. Yes, I also see his NYC attitude, his womanizing in early years, his putative turns of phrase. But he has always
come across to me as a man who possesses uncommon and authentic strength of character for the eternal things. We are all flawed. And history (or God?) often chooses flawed men as leaders. It makes sense to me. I always worry about the ones who seem too polished-

Thread 🚨: 1/Just wrote this column for @UncoverDC about the conditions at SFF Hazelton, a federal women's prison in W. Virginia. The letters reveal horrible conditions but the worst reports concern sexual abuse of women by transgender females, who are biological males. ➡️uncoverdc.com/2024/07/09/sff…
2/I correspond with the women at Hazelton because I know one of them. She is a #J6 defendant. There are two J6 defendants at this facility. The one I know recruited 8 other women to write letters to me. I also write to other J6ers at other prisons. Let's talk about what is going on in our prisons, specifically women's prisons.
3/The prisons are dysfunctional at best on a good day. However, thanks to Obama and now Biden, transgender females are in all women's prisons nationwide. There are 27 women's prisons, 21 of which are co-ed. I looked at PREA audit reports and a 2022 Senate report on the BOP. Trump rolled the policy back.

Thread on J6 Prisoners:
1/15 Welp, folks, the time is right with the SCOTUS decision so I am going to write a couple of articles on the prison system and the letters I am getting. I correspond with several j6 prisoners regularly.
2 One of my penpals is K. Joe Thomas. He is in Memphis. He has no business being incarcerated for 5 years. Joe is a very faithful man. Has had a rough life. He is the one who started .Sing4freedom.us
3 Joe tells stories of gangs and all manner of "friendships" in the prison. He seems to know how to take care of himself but I still worry about him. Excerpts from Joe's latest letter:
