The most concerning thing from that QT is the sheer number of people believing feeling this way is perfectly normal. It isn’t.
Many people won’t realise they’re more apathetic than ever before. They’ll think they’ve always been like this, because brain damage causes anosognosia.
Am I suggesting ALL apathy is as a result of Covid infections? Absoutely not.
Am I suggesting Covid infections ALWAYS cause apathy? Absolutely not.
Do I think it relevant to mention, in an ongoing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, that Covid induced brain damage causes apathy? Absolutely.
The attention that tweet gained seemed significant to me. It resonated w/huge numbers of people.
As a neurologist, I am all too aware that damage to this specific region of the brain OFTEN causes apathy.
Of course, covid might not be the cause here. But it sure as hell could be
Regardless of the cause, feeling that apathetic is certainly not normal & I stand by this.
If apathy is your ONLY issue right now, I’d wager it’s likely not covid.
If “brain fog”, or memory issues, or ⬆️ sickness, or new health issues are also present, it’s probably Covid.

Does anybody else feel that blaming a few months of lockdown for ill health in 2025, both physical & mental, is not only disingenuous & delusional, but a crusade to spread disinformation?
The public lap it up so they can reassure themselves the threat has vanished into thin air.
I’m seeing far more people presenting with what they believe is ADHD, but I would suggest many of these cases are being misdiagnosed.
SARS-CoV-2 has been shown to reduce grey matter within the frontal/temporal lobes in the brain, and the damage goes far beyond simply being ADHD.
ADHD is not degenerative, nor progressive, and symptoms should not worsen with age.
We haven’t yet ascertained whether Covid induced brain damage is progressive. But even if the damage was static, each new infection would cause new/worsening damage.
It is of course possible I caught it elsewhere, it’s simply that that was the only known positive contact.
The point here is that I had a completely symptom free infection whilst testing consistently negative on LFTs.
So when you hear anyone say “it wasn’t covid”, even when they did LFTs religiously, you can’t be guaranteed that this is the case. It’s a sneaky virus.
Using LFTs, I thoroughly swab inside of cheeks, back of throat, and nostrils.
