Daily Ukraine map thread for Wednesday 19th March 2025

Highlights: No significant changes compared to yesterday. Further Ukrainian losses seen from their Demidovka, Belgorod incursion yesterday

We'll do a small dive into the Svatove to Kreminna front though - small Russian advances over the course of 2024 eventually resulted in the capture of Terny village for a very heavy price. Since then, smaller advances have continued to Ivanivka and Yampolivka, which threatens Torske and Zarichne. We'll see what develops over 2025, but right now it's so glacially slow it's not a pressing issue.

Highlights: Large busy day of geolocations today

Ukrainian forces assaulted into Belgorod oblast near Demidovka with ~10-20 vehicles, suffered losses. Remains to be seen what else occurred, we've only seen the Russian PoV of two Bradleys and a Wisent taken out barely a kilometer from the border so far

Russian forces assaulted near Druzhba over the past few days, took casualties. Russian infantry managed to walk north of Krymske and enter a dugout

Ukrainian attack on Kostyantynopil, and Russian forces shelled at Stepove in western Zaporizhia.

Highlights: Russian flag raises in Malaya Loknya, and also we just saw a raise in Martynovka by 1434th Akhmat-Chechnya Regiment - which means if they're raising a flag there, the actual fighting Russians are far closer

So far no sign of Russian forces beyond that, but we expect further flag raises momentarily. Wouldn't expect much of the Sudhza salient to be left over the next few days

Also, Russian flag raises in Kostyantynopil in the Kurakhove direction

Heavy fighting continues in many areas, but geolocations today were mostly Toretsk and southwest of Pokrovsk in Shevchenko

Highlights: Russian forces from 98th Air Assault Division assaulted Chasiv Yar with significant numbers today. Geolocators are working the hits, but 24th Mech claimed they inflicted heavy casualties (16/25 vehicles damaged/destroyed). Whether the Russian forces took any positions remains to be seen, it's being worked now

Reduced some Ukrainian presence near Bilohorivka, as Russian motorcycle troops sighted west of the village

Ukrainian forces continue their pressure on the Russian held villages near southwest Pokrovsk

Russian pressure on Kursk remains v.high

Toretsk remains a hot bed of geolocations and drone footage.
