🧵A loading facility preparing KH-101 air-launched cruise missiles (ALCMs) along with an unknown number of KH-101 missiles were destroyed in the strike of the 20th March 2025 on Engels-2 airfield, imagery from Maxar suggests. 1/6
The transport containers seen either side of the building in image #1 below appear to be GK-120 containers for the KH-101 ALCM, prior to loading.
These have been recorded before: during a visit by Sergei Shoigu to Russian aerospace company MKB Raduga in January 2024. 2/5 Image
Image
GIS software measures these containers to be around 7.5m in length. With the GK-120 container being 7.45m in length and the KH-101 being the most common ALCM deployed at Engels, we conclude these are likely containers for KH-101 ALCMs and all were destroyed in the strike. 3/5 Image
Image
The cylindrical building in which the GK-120s are being loaded in the image below is a likely ACLM facility used for setting fuses, adding warheads and other preparatory work on the ALCMs prior to their loading onto strategic bombers. 4/6 Image

The geo-located footage from @Dmojavensis suggests both secondary detonations and damage to open-air-stored ammunition, with this later clearly visible in the Maxar satellite imagery. 5/6

🧵If Ukraine struck 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 part of the Barikady factory complex, it is significant.
This morning's FP-5 'Flamingo' strike on the JSC "FNVTS 'Titan-Barikady' plant in Volgograd highlights a critical vulnerability in Russia’s supply chain for its long-range missile capabilities. 1/11Image
While Titan-Barikady is recognised for assembling mobile launch systems for Iskander-M, Yars and Topol-M complexes, its operational capacity depends heavily on specialised metallurgical components supplied by the adjacent Krasny Oktyabr (Red October) plant. 2/11 Image
Research by Tochnyi in 2024 revealed that the plant serves as a foundational system integration node, manufacturing high-grade rolled steel, specialised alloy sheets and heavy pipe blanks for artillery barrels and armour plating 3/11tochnyi.info/2024/08/on-the…

🧵 What is the true scale of Russia’s Shahed drone production at Alabuga?
We analysed Russian media footage of Alabuga to estimate the total Shahed engine output at this infamous facility in need of deletion - and we observed how production there is being scaled up. 1/8 Image
Image
Image
While Alabuga’s airframe production relies on labour-intensive operations, its engine production is a different story.
These 2-stroke engines are simple in design, but producing them at scale requires careful plant design, utilising both casting and forging techniques. 2/8 Image
Russian media footage of Alabuga reveals it has a significant heat treatment facility - where cast parts are heated in furnaces and rapidly cooled in quenching baths.
Crucially, Alabuga’s equipment is numbered, allowing us to reach an estimation on engine numbers. We identified units labelled 21 and 22, indicating Alabuga has at least 22 of these processing setups. 3/8Image

Our new study and map of Ukrainian efforts to suppress the Russian rear, evidence @FedorovMykhailo's announcement of the “logistics lockdown.”
1/6
July 9, 2022: Two Russian command meetings happen simultaneously. Minutes later, precision GMLRS missiles wipe out both. This is the point where the war entered a new phase.
2/6
Summer of 2023: the FPV drone enters the war in scale, mercilessly dominating a frontline "kill zone" of up to 10km, forcing a Russian retreat to fragmented, low-profile logistics such as motorcycles, scooters and donkeys.

Russia has one main logistical asset upon which its war effort is reliant: its east–west railway network.
Every major storage & production site is linked to it. Specialised railway workers maintain and repair it.
It has long been ripe for destabilisation. 1/5 Image

📈New graphics show key rail supply nodes feeding the front:
• North/Northeast: Bryansk → Lgov → Belgorod
• South/Southeast: Likhovskoy → Rostov-on-Don → Crimea/Mariupol
• Deep rear: Trans-Siberian + Baikal-Amur lines feeding Volgograd & Rostov. 2/6 Image

Ukraine’s strikes increasingly target rail chokepoints:
• Bridges & relay cabinets
• Traction power stations
• Key junction stations (Likhaya, Novocherkassk, Salsk)
The maps show how this damage stalls both trains & power supply in Rostov, Volgograd, Kursk, Crimea. 3/6 Image

🧵Sentinel-2 satellite imagery confirms the destruction of the majority of ECMs from the 107th Arsenal of the GRAU in Toropets. This has enabled a more comprehensive BDA to be possible.
1/7
With a high level of certainty, 46 ECMs are visually confirmed to have been completely destroyed, 74.19% from the original total of 62 ECMs.

Significant damage resulting from openly-stored ammunition is also evident, with the north-eastern areas of the facility shown following.
This confirms the hazardous consequences of Russia’s ammunition storage practices, as referenced in yesterday’s thread.

Satellite imagery from Maxar confirms the destruction of several ECMs in the Ukrainian strikes on the 107th Arsenal of the GRAU early Wednesday. 13 ECMs have been visually identified as being heavily damaged or completely destroyed, with this number expected to rise.
1/4 Credit: Maxar
Assessment of the 2 completely destroyed ECMs in the public Maxar images shows that while the revetments appear to have limited damage in some areas of the facility, Russia's ammunition storage practices have contributed to significantly higher levels of destruction.
2/4 Credit: Maxar
The ensuing fires spread to nearby storage sites, which continue to burn, and could cause additional ECMs to overheat and result in further damage over the next few days. The following images show the significant destruction wrought upon the facility.
