🧵A loading facility preparing KH-101 air-launched cruise missiles (ALCMs) along with an unknown number of KH-101 missiles were destroyed in the strike of the 20th March 2025 on Engels-2 airfield, imagery from Maxar suggests. 1/6
The transport containers seen either side of the building in image #1 below appear to be GK-120 containers for the KH-101 ALCM, prior to loading.
These have been recorded before: during a visit by Sergei Shoigu to Russian aerospace company MKB Raduga in January 2024. 2/5
GIS software measures these containers to be around 7.5m in length. With the GK-120 container being 7.45m in length and the KH-101 being the most common ALCM deployed at Engels, we conclude these are likely containers for KH-101 ALCMs and all were destroyed in the strike. 3/5
The cylindrical building in which the GK-120s are being loaded in the image below is a likely ACLM facility used for setting fuses, adding warheads and other preparatory work on the ALCMs prior to their loading onto strategic bombers. 4/6
The geo-located footage from @Dmojavensis suggests both secondary detonations and damage to open-air-stored ammunition, with this later clearly visible in the Maxar satellite imagery. 5/6

🧵Sentinel-2 satellite imagery confirms the destruction of the majority of ECMs from the 107th Arsenal of the GRAU in Toropets. This has enabled a more comprehensive BDA to be possible. 1/7
With a high level of certainty, 46 ECMs are visually confirmed to have been completely destroyed, 74.19% from the original total of 62 ECMs. 2/7
Significant damage resulting from openly-stored ammunition is also evident, with the north-eastern areas of the facility shown following.
This confirms the hazardous consequences of Russia’s ammunition storage practices, as referenced in yesterday’s thread. 3/7
Satellite imagery from Maxar confirms the destruction of several ECMs in the Ukrainian strikes on the 107th Arsenal of the GRAU early Wednesday. 13 ECMs have been visually identified as being heavily damaged or completely destroyed, with this number expected to rise. 1/4
Assessment of the 2 completely destroyed ECMs in the public Maxar images shows that while the revetments appear to have limited damage in some areas of the facility, Russia's ammunition storage practices have contributed to significantly higher levels of destruction. 2/4
The ensuing fires spread to nearby storage sites, which continue to burn, and could cause additional ECMs to overheat and result in further damage over the next few days. The following images show the significant destruction wrought upon the facility. 3/4
In March 2022, Ukrainian resistance forced Russian troops to withdraw from Kyiv after they lost the battle for the city. Following this, reports about tortured and executed Ukrainian civilians spread worldwide.
Investigations established Russian culpability, but the Kremlin engaged in a playbook of denial, blame-shifting, and making up stories.
The same tactic was used after the downing of MH-17. Initially, narratives were contradictory and aimed to distract from the horror. Pro-Kremlin outlets alleged that Ukraine staged the massacre, or that the corpses were actors or those of "pro-Russian collaborators."
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine stated on March 31, 2023, that Russian military committed more than 9,000 war crimes during its occupation of Bucha. #BuchaMassacre
“Over 9,000 war crimes were committed in the Bucha district during the 33 days of occupation. Terrible numbers. More than 270 crimes per day. More than 1,400 civilians were killed. Many of them were tortured. 37 children were among the killed. Another 52 children were injured."
"All these crimes are... part of the planned strategy of Russia aimed at destroying Ukraine as a state and Ukrainians as a nation. We will not stop until all the organizers and perpetrators of war crimes are brought to justice." - Office of Prosecutor General of UA
