Bill Maher Demands Gavin Newsom Explain the Government Hoops Blocking His Roof Repair

California is drowning in red tape—and Bill Maher just put Gavin Newsom on the spot to explain why. See how Newsom responds.

🧵 THREAD Image
Bill Maher has been trying to make changes to his roof for ages—but California’s endless red tape keeps getting in the way. Frustrated by the constant bureaucratic hurdles, Maher finally had the chance to confront Governor Gavin Newsom face-to-face and ask why even basic repairs feel impossible in California.

This isn’t Maher’s first run-in with California’s bureaucratic nightmare. Back in 2018, when he first tried installing solar panels, Maher faced over three years of delays due to endless permits and red tape.

Now, facing another roof debacle after the wildfires, Maher is sick of the unnecessary hurdles.

“Let’s talk about what’s important: my roof,” Maher said firmly to Newsom.

“Your roof?” Newsom asked—surprised.

“My roof,” Maher reiterated.

Maher explained that after a wildfire damaged his roof, he opted to repair it exactly as officials recommended. But instead of being able to get the work done quickly, he was hit with unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles instead.

“Two inspections I needed to have—why?” Maher asked. “It’s my roof. If it falls on my head, that’s my problem.”

“That’s it? That’s just a statement,” Newsom replied.

“No, that’s my question,” Maher shot back. “Why do I need two inspections, which I have to pay for? Yeah, you were here last time we talked about regulations. You said, ‘Oh, it’s a completely new day.’ That’s a quote from you. ‘Completely new day.’”

Newsom shifted gears, referencing Ezra Klein’s book, Abundance, suggesting liberal governance was overly fixated on process rather than outcomes—essentially acknowledging that Maher’s roof saga was exactly the kind of bureaucracy Klein warned about. He vaguely promised to eliminate some of these hurdles.

Maher—seeing through Newsom’s political speak— wasn’t satisfied. “How’s that going, though?” he asked.
Shortly after this exchange, Newsom’s rebranding as a moderate fell apart when Bill Maher called out California’s rule that kept parents in the dark if their child changed their gender identity.

“So what do you say to people who say… ‘Governor, you were the poster boy for a lot of this [woke] stuff?’” Maher asked.

“I see today the Trump administration talked about the fact that California had a rule that schools cannot be required to notify parents if their kids in school have changed their gender, their pronouns. That’s the kind of thing—even though it doesn’t affect a lot of people—that makes a lot of people go, ‘Well, you know what? That’s the party without common sense,’” Maher added.

Newsom tried to deflect, framing the issue as protecting students: “I just disagree with that. I mean, the law was you would be fired, a teacher would be fired if a teacher did not report or snitch on a kid talking about their gender identity. I just think that was wrong. I think teachers should teach. I don’t think they should be required to turn in kids.”

Maher quickly called out the political spin: “Turning in? We’re talking about their parents. How can you snitch?”
As the interview neared its end, Maher demanded Gavin Newsom give it to him straight about his future presidential ambitions, explicitly telling him to cut the bullsh*t and speak clearly.

But, in a moment that should surprise no one, Newsom responded with an intentionally vague answer.

“Given that we are in this dire situation, I feel like we don’t have time anymore for the old bullsht,” Maher challenged. “You know, the old, ‘Are you running for president?’ ‘Well, you know, there’s an exploratory committee, and I’m looking at it. I’m happy with my job as governor.’ I mean, your future is not in California. Your future is in Iowa. Let’s dispense with the bullsht. We need someone who’s gonna be the champion. Are you gonna do it or not?” Maher asked.

“Just come on, tell us. We don’t have time for the bullsh*t.”

“I can’t stand the bullsh*t as well. And I mean that,” Newsom empathized before ironically giving a vague, bullsh*t answer.

“So, look, this is not my purpose or passion. It’s not my meaning. It’s not everything. The cynicism that’s out there, that every move he [Newsom] is making is some move to some longer-term strategy or short-term strategy.”

Maher kept pressing, “But who could do it? Who could get it done? Who could win?”

Newsom refused to give a straight answer again, “I deeply respect that. I respect the question, but I don’t have any grand plans, as it respects that.”
Whether Newsom is running for president or not isn’t really relevant. He’s clearly on a rebranding tour, launching a new podcast, speaking to conservatives, and trying to draw as many eyeballs as possible.

This is a business move, not some act of goodwill. Remember, this is the same guy who insisted, “Not one person ever in my office has ever used the word Latinx.”
Yet, his own tweet from 2023 exposed him saying, “The GOP are busy banning the word ‘Latinx’ and AP Black history courses rather than the weapons of war that are killing our kids.” Image
Whether it’s repairing a roof or addressing gender identity issues in schools, Newsom’s vague, no-substance responses always leave voters spinning in circles. Until he fixes that and starts speaking plainly, he’ll never be president. Image
Will Gavin Newsom run for president in 2028?

10 Shocking Stories the Media Buried This Week

#10 - Joe Rogan guest completely shatters the polio narrative.

Dr. Suzanne Humphries challenged one of the most sacred beliefs in medicine: that vaccines eradicated polio.

The truth is – polio wasn’t eradicated. Polio is actually “still alive and well,” Dr. Humphries declared. It’s just that a few sleights of hand made the world believe otherwise.

What largely brought polio cases down, according to Humphries, wasn’t the vaccine’s impact—it was a change in the way polio was defined.

“Polio is called different things today,” Humphries explained. “Whereas back in the 1940s, 1950s, the criteria for diagnosing polio were completely different to the year that the vaccine was introduced. The playing field, the goalposts—everything was changed… they were able to show a complete cascading drop of paralytic polio simply because of the way they changed the definitions of what polio is and what could cause it.”

After the vaccine rollout, cases that would’ve been diagnosed as polio were now labeled as Guillain-Barré syndrome, coxsackievirus, echovirus, or chalked up to lead or mercury poisoning.

She also pointed to another key factor: environmental toxins. The rise in polio diagnoses, she said, mirrored the use of toxic chemicals like DDT.

As use of neurotoxic pesticides like DDT, arsenic, and lead declined, so did toxic exposures that mimicked polio symptoms. Fewer kids were bathing in poisons that caused spinal nerve damage, so naturally, paralysis decreased.

“The tonnage of production of DDT absolutely mirrored the diagnosis for polio,” Dr. Humphries explained. Even today, she added, “The countries that still make DDT… are where we’re still seeing this paralytic polio situation happen.”

And when it comes to the poliovirus itself? It’s not quite as harmful as people think. Humphries explained that polio is actually a “commensal”—a virus that lives in most people without causing harm.

“95 to 99% of all polio is asymptomatic.” Dr. Humphries described a study of the Javante Indians, where “98 to 99% of every person they tested… had evidence of immunity to all three strains of polio,” yet none of the children were crippled. “They were like, ‘We don’t have any of that problem,’” she recalled.

Dr. Humphries also cited a chilling story in history. In 1916, a Rockefeller lab in Manhattan set out with “the specific stated goal… to try to create the most pathological, neuropathological strain of polio possible.” Researchers injected monkey brains and human spinal fluid into monkeys.

And that experimentation came with devastating consequences. “There was a big problem with that, which was [polio] released into the public by accident,” Dr. Humphries explained. “And the world experienced the worst polio epidemic on record. 25% mortality.”

In short, Humphries argued that polio didn’t vanish because of vaccines. It disappeared under a mountain of redefinitions, environmental triggers, manmade disasters, and a lot of propaganda.

#9 - Greg Abbott delivers the PERFECT response after Rep. Jasmine Crockett mocked his disability and called him “Governor Hot Wheels.”

“It’s another day and another disaster by the Democrats. The reality is they have no vision, no policy. They have nothing to sell but hate. And Americans are not buying it. It’s one reason why Texas is going to remain red and why Republicans are going to continue to win elections across the country.”

“The bottom line is that Republican states like Texas are leading the way. And with comments like this by Democrats, we will just leave them in the dust in future elections.”
#8 - Bill Maher Demands Gavin Newsom Explain the Government Hoops Blocking His Roof Repair

Bill Maher has been trying to make changes to his roof for years, but California’s endless red tape keeps getting in the way. Frustrated by the needless bureaucratic hurdles, Maher finally had the chance to confront Governor Gavin Newsom face-to-face and ask why even basic repairs feel impossible in the state.

“Your roof?” Newsom asked—surprised.

“My roof,” Maher reiterated.

Maher explained that after a wildfire damaged his roof, he chose to repair it exactly as officials recommended. But instead of being able to move forward quickly, he encountered more unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles.

“Two inspections I needed to have—why?” Maher asked. “It’s my roof. If it falls on my head, that’s my problem.”

“That’s it? That’s just a statement,” Newsom replied.

Newsom then referenced Ezra Klein’s book, Abundance, suggesting that liberal governance often becomes too focused on process instead of outcomes—essentially admitting that Maher’s roof situation was a perfect example. He vaguely promised to remove some of the hurdles.

Maher—seeing through Newsom’s political speak—wasn’t satisfied. “How’s that going, though?” he asked.

BREAKING: Utah just became the first state to officially ban fluoride in all public drinking water.

For decades, fluoride was accepted as a safe way to prevent tooth decay.

But some lawmakers are reversing course after new evidence raised serious concerns.

What changed? And why are they taking action now?

🧵 Let’s take a closer look.Image
For decades, fluoride was promoted as a simple way to prevent tooth decay. Few questioned it.

But last year, in a dramatic legal twist, a federal judge ruled that fluoride may actually lower children’s IQ—and cited evidence that could upend everything we thought we knew.

That ruling sent shockwaves through the public health world.Image
Judge Edward Chen pointed to scientific studies showing a “high level of certainty” that fluoride exposure “poses a risk” to developing brains.

He ordered the EPA to reexamine its safety standards, warning that the margin for safety may be far too narrow. Image

RFK Jr. Drops Stunning Vaccine Announcement

It’s finally happening. This changes everything.

🧵 THREAD Image
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. just unveiled new reforms that could transform how this country treats vaccine injuries forever.

But before sharing the details with Chris Cuomo Thursday night, he exposed just how bad things really were inside the Department of Health and Human Services before he took charge.

According to Kennedy, parts of HHS were “selling patient information to each other” and actively working against one another.

That means your private health data—funded by taxpayers—was being treated like a commodity inside the same agency that’s supposed to protect it.

But it gets even worse. Kennedy said when he tried to access CMS data—patient and billing records from Medicare and Medicaid—he was told HHS would have to buy it back from another branch of itself.

“So I tried to get the CMS patient information, which belongs to the American people and belongs to HHS, and the sub-agencies said we have to buy it from them, and it doesn’t make any sense. There are sub-agencies that refuse to give us patient data,” Kennedy lamented.

This kind of red tape, he argued, is exactly what’s prevented progress. But change is already in motion.

Kennedy pointed to DOGE—the Department of Government Efficiency—as one of the major drivers of reform.

“We’re going from 82,000 workers to 62,000. That’s tough on everybody. But I think in the long run we’re going to have much greater morale in a demoralized agency,” he said.
The vaccine injury news broke when Kennedy announced that the CDC is creating a new sub-agency focused entirely on vaccine injuries—a long-overdue shift for patients who’ve spent years searching for answers without any support from the government.

“We’re incorporating an agency within CDC that is going to specialize in vaccine injuries,” Kennedy announced.

“These are priorities for the American people. More and more people are suffering from these injuries, and we are committed to having gold-standard science make sure that we can figure out what the treatments are and that we can deliver the best treatments possible to the American people.”

For years, the vaccine-injured have felt ignored or dismissed, as public health agencies refused to even acknowledge the problem. Now, there’s finally an initiative underway to investigate their injuries and to provide support.

Joe Rogan Guest Completely Shatters the Vaccine Narrative

Everything you’ve been told is a lie—especially when it comes to polio.

Dr. Suzanne Humphries, author of Dissolving Illusions, reveals what really made all those polio cases disappear after the vaccine was introduced.

🧵 THREADImage
Dr. Suzanne Humphries, former board-certified nephrologist and co-author of  Dissolving Illusions: Disease, Vaccines, and the Forgotten History, just made a bombshell appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience—and what she shared will completely change how you think about vaccines.

Most people are told vaccines are “safe and effective” with no real downside. But Dr. Humphries pulled back the curtain on decades of deception, starting with a major turning point in 1986—when President Reagan signed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act into law.

Before that, vaccine manufacturers were getting hammered with lawsuits. Humphries explained that after the 1976 swine flu vaccine disaster, Guillain-Barré cases were piling up. It got so bad that the companies couldn’t even get insurance.

They ran to the government and basically said: “Bail us out, or we’re done making vaccines.” So the government stepped in. First, it agreed to cover the lawsuits. Then came the 1986 law—sold to the public as a way to help injured families get compensation faster, but in reality, it became a kangaroo court system that rarely paid families deserving of vaccine injury claims.

Companies like Wyeth (now Pfizer) admitted their vaccines were “unavoidably unsafe,” yet instead of making them safer, they were handed blanket immunity.

Humphries explained that this opened the floodgates for “creativity” by the vaccine makers. They could now play with adjuvants without fear of being sued. Profits soared, and the childhood vaccine schedule expanded rapidly.
That freedom also meant cutting corners in safety testing. Most people assume vaccines are tested like other drugs—with placebo controls. But that’s not the case. Instead, vaccines are actually tested against other vaccines, which obscures negative outcomes.

“The few studies that exist with saline placebos show how bad the vaccine actually is and how it makes you not only not respond to the disease when it comes around, but more susceptible to it in many cases,” Dr. Humphries explained.

10 Shocking Stories the Media Buried This Week

#10 – ‘Measles Death’ of 6-Year-Old Girl Exposed as a Media HOAX

The media claimed a 6-year-old girl died of measles, but “she did not die of measles by any stretch of the imagination,” Dr. Pierre Kory says.

“In fact, she died of pneumonia. But it gets worse than that because she didn’t really die of pneumonia. She died of a MEDICAL ERROR.”

Let that sink in.

What happened was a complete breakdown in basic medical care. The hospital failed to give her the appropriate antibiotic regimen to treat her pneumonia. By the time they corrected their mistake, it was too late, and the girl died “catastrophically.”

“I mean, this is like medicine 101. You put them on two antibiotics to cover all the possibilities. It’s a grievous error, and it’s an error which led to her death,” Dr. Kory attested.

Not only did Covenant Children’s Hospital fail to provide the appropriate antibiotic, but when they noticed their error, they dragged their feet and took another 10 hours to administer it.

“By that time, she was already on a ventilator. And approximately 24 hours later—actually, less than 24 hours later—she died,” Dr. Kory explained.

And she did not pass away peacefully. According to Dr. Kory, “She died rather catastrophically.”

And while her family grieved, the media hijacked her death to stir fear and push the vaccine narrative. Just another “measles death” used as a political weapon.

This is a case Dr. Pierre Kory calls “absolutely enraging.”

And it is. Just another example of how the media will shamelessly twist the story of a grieving family’s loss to push Big Pharma’s agenda. That’s not just dishonest. That’s evil, plain and simple.

Follow @ChildrensHD for the full interview and more details on this enraging story.

#9 - Bill Maher guest calls out Fauci’s ridiculous pardon, saying, “There’s a reason he was given a pardon back to 2014.”

“There is something very wrong going on here.”

“Everyone knew it [gain-of-function research] was dangerous a long time ago. You go back to 2015, you will find a big meeting in London where they say there’s one lab in the world most likely to have a problem with this—Wuhan. Do you know who was the biggest supporter of gain of function research for the last 30 years? Anthony Fauci.”

It turns out that in 2014, 300 scientists warned Anthony Fauci would start a global pandemic.

RFK Jr. previously explained that following the high-profile escape of three bugs from U.S. labs, these 300 scientists sent a letter to President Obama, urging him to shut down Anthony Fauci's gain-of-function research.

Obama issued a moratorium and shut down 18 of the worst projects by Anthony Fauci. In the end, he really didn't shut them down. Instead, Obama moved the research offshore to places like Ukraine, the former Soviet State of Georgia, and the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China.

Now, it is widely accepted that COVID-19 originated from that very lab in Wuhan, China. The 300 scientists were right when they said Anthony Fauci would start a global pandemic.
#8 - Kevin O’Leary delivers a harsh reality check to people burning Teslas: You’re going to “rot in hell in prison.”

“And frankly, as far as I’m concerned, that’s okay,” he said.

O’Leary left no room for debate, making it clear that there’s zero justification for the destruction:

“When you set a car on fire, you should go to jail. You’re a criminal. And I don’t think we have to talk about it in any other context.”

He also had a blunt message for those thinking they’ll get away with it:

“And all those cars have cameras in them, and those dealerships have cameras. You’re beyond being stupid when you do that... You’re going to spend five to 20 years in prison. If they get them on terrorism—which I think is a stretch—there will be no parole, no shortened sentence. They’ll rot in hell in prison for 20 years. And frankly, as far as I’m concerned, that’s okay.”
