A Redditor’s class is 70% Indian. They can’t/don’t speak English and the staff aren’t much better.
The situation is so bad that questions are sometimes asked and answered in Hindi.
“I honestly regret having paid so much to move to Dublin and do this course”
130+ comments so far because so many people now realise that the universities have become a literal scam. (examples below) reddit.com/r/UCD/comments…
Firstly, it's not just Indians who can't speak English and cheat the tests. The Chinese do it too.
In fact, lots of non-European students cheat the tests. It's so common that companies now provide essay writing as a service for candidates.
The universities are aware of these problems by now, but they don't care. They just want to keep the money coming in. (It would be 'racist' to notice their poor English too.)
The universities know that these students can't speak English, they know that they are lowering academic standards to get them in, they know the students are cheating in their applications and in their university assignments... but the university administrators don't care about any of it.
The *only* thing that matters to them, is money.
The market is so saturated with Indians, that the Indians are starting to turn us down.
"I actually wrote the truth as the reason for declining the offer. No fucks given. "The cohort seems to be skewed towards one nationality and this is not the experience I want." I HATE systems like this with a passion because they genuinely harm the natives & also the good few people wanting to immigrate & assimilate."
Fair play! He was clearly one of the good ones.
A lot of people are being hurt by this corrupt system, and it's the people who the system was supposed to be serving - Irish students - that are getting hurt the most.
They want to learn and upskill, and ultimately contribute more to Irish society.
But instead, they're spending loads of money to learn very little because globalisation lowered standards everywhere and turned the universities into a scam.
Bonus: foreigners complaining that having to write essays in English is racism

There was a time when @davidmcw was willing to speak openly and honestly about the problems facing the nation.
Seems like a long time ago now.
These days he is just another mouthpiece for the Irish establishment, and his popularity in Ireland has waned accordingly.
You can track his decline as an independent commentator through his changing positions on immigration.

2006 – ‘In Search of The Pope’s Children’, RTE TV
“On top of this, we’re receiving in more immigrants per head than almost any other country in Europe. Hundreds of thousands of Eastern-Europeans are on the move. Our politicians seem to think that we can absorb in a limitless amount of foreigners, without any social problems. If we achieve this, we’ll be the first country ever to do it.”
It’s hard to believe that these words could have been spoken on RTE. Certainly not by one of their own. Can you imagine David Chambers (aka ‘Blindboy Boatclub’) ever being so frank about… anything controversial?
But McWilliams was right. He was exactly right – no nation can absorb a limitless amount of foreigners, not without eventually destroying itself. You don’t need to be a celebrity economist to understand that.
And 2006 was the time for a frank and honest conversation about immigration. The Crisis years even gave us an opportunity to get it under control and start again. But, of course, we Irish squandered it.
That period from 2006 into the post-crisis years was also when McWilliams’ standing in Ireland was at its peak. Did he squander his big opportunity too?
2015 – ‘Why Immigration is a Class Issue’, the SBP
“When the relatively poor – those who are threatened by immigrants – voice their concerns, it is far too easy for the rich to dismiss these people as “racist’ or “xenophobic”, whereas maybe they are just voicing everyday real concerns. One thing is clear: immigration is going to increase in the years ahead. Wouldn’t it be a good idea to talk about it, warts and all?”
By 2015, David had given up trying to talk sense on immigration. But the crisis was in the past and the economy was booming again, so maybe it didn't matter.
He had accepted that we were going to overpopulate the country, and that this was going to cause more problems. But in the interests of avoiding some kind of class conflict, shouldn’t we at least talk about it?
While I totally reject the assumption that we should accept unlimited immigration, I think everyone on the nationalist side – or even just anyone with an ounce of basic civility and common sense – would agree that an open, public discussion of the topic was needed.
But David had a media profile, so why didn’t he platform and moderate these discussions himself? If nothing else, it would have helped him maintain his relevance.
A nation is a large group of people sharing ancestry, heritage, language, and culture, inhabiting the lands of their ancestors. The people are like a family, and the land is their home.

Over time – centuries and millennia – the people are shaped by the land, and the land is shaped by the people. They have a symbiotic relationship that is unique and inseparable, like mother and child. Each is a reflection of the other.

The word ‘nation’ comes from the latin verb ‘nascor’ – to be born. The words native, natal, and nativity come from the same place. So a nation is a natural, organic, and inherently biological thing – again, like a family.
