New Life – Deliverance from Death
On this Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate the new beginning that Jesus provided for those of us who believe and choose to follow Him. And we do, we no longer fear death because it has been defeated. When we are His and die to ourselves, then just as it was for Him on Good Friday,
death was not the end, but truly only the beginning. Even though it appeared as if He was a victim, the Lord was always fully in control. And we have new birth.

20 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful,
but your sorrow will be turned into joy. 21 A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22 Therefore you now

Not Every thing Is As It Seems – Giving Thanks
Today’s scripture says that we should give thanks to the LORD… the title of this psalm is about giving thanks to Him. But notice how this psalm starts out in verse 1 with a call for us all to give Him thanks. After it starts with this call, it describes a bunch of problems that
came along and then says that the LORD rescued them from those problems. Finally it ends in the last two verses (9-10) calling once again for everyone to give thanks to the LORD.

This seems like it is emphasizing the need to be grateful saints and to thank Him for rescuing us.
