I am amazed how many Drs were happy to go along with americanisation of health while it didn't affect them? Happy to ration, to privatise, denationalise, close hosptls & say 'medicine's changed, it's more complex, people live longer, treatments are more expensive' etc when what
they actually mean is they are happy for people to be denied care, happy to exclude people, to close hospitals, to move to an insurance-based system, an americanised system which necessitates large numbers being excluded so the providers, drs etc can make more money
The system they prefer/imagine is a public private hybrid where the public purse funds & patients pay, which guarantees their pay/funding, they can select which patients they think are deserving enough & they don't seem to mind that many millions don't have access to it.
However, what they misunderstood though is that their own services were also dispensable. They think this cosy system would mean seeing fewer patients for more money but big business has other ideas. To make big £$ they want to cut staff too particularly expensive staff
None of it is about making patients better
Now it's coming back to bite them, belatedly they've realised & some hv the cheek to still blame the public, saying patients need to decide what type of healthcare we want-
The public didn't even know govts were restructuring the health service away from Bevan! We didn't
vote for this!
They suddenly want the public to be up in arms over Dr replacement when they still don't see or regret that they were/are happy to throw us under the bus & deny us care, repeating propaganda about 'ageing population ', 'bed blockers', 'malingerers', 'complex treatments'
'we can't afford the NHS', 'things are very different now compared to 1948' etc
It's about handing £billions of public money to big business to provide minimal care to fewer paying patients, in fewer hosptls, by downskilled staff. That's how you make profit from ill health
And unless we all- staff/Drs & patients- show reciprocal solidarity, all demand reinstatement of the Bevan model & renationalised health- then this lucrative race to the bottom will continue & society will get sicker, poorer, more dangerous for all

Anyone telling you that Labour don't understand what they are doing, that they are just incompetent or are mistaken is lying to you
Anyone telling you that Labour scrapping NHSE is 'democratising' the NHS or returning it to 'Government control' is lying to you

This comment from @drbobgill cuts through all the lies & misleading propaganda from people & organisations who should & DO know better!
Comment from Dr Bob Gill :
"NHS has been killed off folks. NHSE has served its purpose. Control has been outsources to 42 ICBs." 2/ 6
'The new legal entites are public-private partnership given public funds and autonomy to decide which treatments are provided and by whom, public or private."

Thread-Nick & Mary outside @gmcuk on 13 Nov, protesting the replacement of Bevan’s NHS with multiple shrunken American systems limited to set postcodes, no longer universal, comprehensive, nor publicly provided healthcare
Qn: Do you want a National Health Service: YES or NO?” 1/4
Yes I want to reinstate a nationalised health service which fulfilled all our needs and gave us access to a family GP & comprehensive District General hospital services when we needed it 2/4
Corporations have been reshaping our services, where’s our anger?
When did any MP or political party ask for our consent to take away our NHS & let McKinsey, Optum, United Health, PwC etc restructure the NHS to benefit big business? Answer- Never #RenationaliseHealth 3/4
As Fellows of the @RCPhysicians meet today- ask them to qn why? Why have PAs been introduced not just accept their introduction & discuss "scope". Who decided it was necessary to introduce a whole new range of roles? & why? Tweet 1/6
Is it really possible this cld happen w/out Govt, opposition, NHSE, Trusts, Universities, Royal Colleges AND unions not discussing where they fit in, impact on existing staff, content of un courses, funding etc? Come on! Pull the other one...

Also a "pause" can be a cynical move to let the dust settle, (see Mychoice Warrington, NWL primary hub) in the hope everyone forgets to pay attention then go ahead with the plans anyway. Which I suspect is what any "pause" will be. #DontBeTakenIn Tweet 3/6
It's no coincidence that A&Es & hospitals all over the UK are threatened with closure or have already closed. 125 A&Es closed. The 5th richest country in the world has inexplicably & illegitimately
replaced the world beating, widely admired, most effective healthwise & financially efficient model known as the NHS, with the widely criticised expensive & efficient profit-driven US system which incentivises the denial of care. With aging, growing population why would any govt
embark on a system which excludes millions of people, forces people to go private, to get into debt & face bankruptcy & home repossession? especially during a cost of living crisis & throughout the last 14 yrs of ideologically imposed & unnecessary austerity? #NHS_Not_ICS
This documentary on ITV about Spire private hospitals & private surgeon mutilating women & men for money is damning. We have to reinstate the NHS. Spire have had £millions of public money while NHS has been shrunk/rationed, replaced by US ICS denying us care #RenationaliseNHS
Over 4,000 cases been recalled by Spire private health company after this "surgeon" operated unnecessarily on & mutilated potentially thousands of patients and no safeguarding, no scrutiny, no checks & balances, going back 22 years!! Yet govt gave £millions to Spire in pandemic
He was a consultant who "rented a room" at Spire private hosp, there have been no changes to the law so this type of criminal behaviour could happen again. What will happen when there is no NHS left to pick up the pieces when private sector negligence causes harm? #ICS_Is_Not_NHS
