Guys, please don’t scroll past campaign posts. You’re quick to repost videos and reports of Resistance operations, shouting about how good they make you feel, treating it like some action flick for your own entertainment. But when it comes to actually supporting the people behind that Resistance, many of you won’t even bother to hit repost on a campaign, something that costs you nothing and takes a second.
And please, spare me the excuses about fear of scams or whatever else. There are hundreds of trusted campaigns. You have people like the team at @gazafunds who’ve dedicated their lives to finding, verifying, and sharing reliable ways for you to help, literally handing you ways to make a difference with just a click.
If you’re skeptical, fine. But at least give it a few hours. Research a campaign, talk to the organizers, and reach out to Palestinians on the ground. The people of Gaza (and elsewhere, like in Sudan and Syria) deserve at least that, don’t they? A few hours, maybe even less, of your time, so they can get the help they desperately need.
Just donate and share. It really is that simple. Better yet, adopt a campaign from @gazafunds and start promoting it yourself on SM and other areas. Do the groundwork, talk to your friends, family, contacts, and colleagues. Ask them to donate.
Yes, reposting the charred remains of babies and footage of Resistance operations spreads awareness, but there’s so much more you could and should be doing.
