She says 'solar minimum,' but what she really means is the Grand Solar Minimum. They are afraid of the Grand Solar Minimum, when the Sun becomes less active and its magnetic field weakens. Combined with the decreasing strength of Earth's magnetic field, this will expose us to increased cosmic rays and radiation from outside the solar system.

There are studies indicating that the Sun will enter a 'Grand Solar Minimum' sometime between 2030 and 2040. So that is why you are hearing a lot about the year 2030. (2/12)🧵

So the scientists are expecting a Little Ice Age period or global cooling that will significantly affect life on Earth and food production. Combined with increased cosmic radiation and the decreased magnetic field, it will create extremely harsh conditions for survival on the Earth's surface.

There are Grand Solar Minima and Grand Solar Maxima, which are different from the regular 11-year solar minimum and maximum cycles. During a Grand Solar Minimum, which can last for centuries, the solar maxima are very weak or mild.

So don't confuse Grand Solar Minimum with Solar Minimum. (4/12)🧵

There is evidence and studies suggesting that during Grand Solar Minima, explosive volcanic eruptions are triggered by cosmic rays.
