Be advised when reading foreign media even if repeated by in American news media: The UK media is now calling Hamas terrorists legally detained or convicted in Israeli prison hostages.

@ipso @ScotNational The Telegraph: Press regulator allows Palestinian prisoners in Israel to be called ‘hostages’
Ipso claims term usage not ‘significantly inaccurate’ and ‘subjective’
By Gordon Raynor 30 April 2025
3)
@ipso @ScotNational The press regulator has come under fresh criticism after it ruled that describing Palestinian prisoners in Israel as “hostages” was acceptable.
4)
@ipso @ScotNational The Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso) said a newspaper headline referring to the release of “hundreds of Palestinian hostages” by Israel did not breach its accuracy clause...
5)
@ipso @ScotNational because the description of Palestinian prisoners, most of whom were Hamas terrorists, was “subjective”.
This was despite the fact that the BBC, which is covered by a different regulator, had to make an on-air correction after it too described Palestinian prisoners as hostages.
6
@ipso @ScotNational Ipso has already been accused this week of undermining free speech after it reprimanded The Telegraph for quoting statements previously made in Parliament.
7)
@ipso @ScotNational In its latest ruling, Ipso looked into a complaint made by Adam Levick, the UK co-editor of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting.
8)
@ipso @ScotNational He said that the description of 369 Palestinian prisoners as h0stages, made in a headline in the Scottish newspaper The National, was a “gross misrepresentation”.
9)
@ipso @ScotNational He said the headline was inaccurate, and therefore a breach of the Ipso editors’ code on accuracy, because “it puts on equal moral footing” Israeli civilians taken h0stage during the Oct 7 attack in 2023 and Palestinian prisoners,
10)
@ipso @ScotNational “most of whom were members of a proscribed terrorist group and were convicted of violent offences”.
Ipso ruled that the article was not inaccurate and upheld its earlier decision when Mr Levick appealed against it.
11)
@ipso @ScotNational It said in its response that most of the prisoners being referred to had been held in detention without trial after the Oct 7 attacks, while 36 of them were serving life sentences.
12)
@ipso @ScotNational Because of this, Ipso said, it was not “significantly inaccurate” to refer to the majority of the released prisoners as “hostages ”, adding: “This is a highly contentious issue.”
It described the term “hostage ” as “somewhat subjective”.
13)
@ipso @ScotNational Mr Levick told The Telegraph: “I was truly shocked when I was told of the decision. I thought it was a slam dunk and such an easy call.
14)
@ipso @ScotNational “I referred in my complaint to the fact that the BBC had been forced to correct its use of the term hostages when it was referring to Palestinian prisoners, and I thought Ipso would adjudicate fairly. It’s very dispiriting.”

1)
Only difference is, today, Democrats are terrified that President Trump’s policies not only the viable solution, but that they’re actually going work, argues Victor Davis Hanson on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words:”
2)
“What's happening is we're watching the most dramatic counterrevolution in our history.
“This is more fundamentally changing than even the Reagan revolution that rebooted the American economy and won the Cold War.

1)
You see, here is the question I have. We are told that the Torah instructs us to seek PEACE. That sounds nice. The Torah also instructs us to seek and do JUSTICE.
Now here is the challenge. How many times does Torah say “Seek Peace” in one form or another.
2)
And, how many times does the Torah tell us to seek Justice in one form or another.
I’ll bet you that the instruction to seek Justice outnumbers those who say seek peace.

It seems one side of the political spectrum loves the term “Due Process” but fails to define it as it applies to immigration law,
1)
but they do not seem to care to tell you what is, as Barack Obama while President deported 3.5 Million people without any concern for Due Process. It seems they only care now that it can be used against Trump.

1)
Right now, the Druze community of southern Syria is being massacred by the Taliban-style regime that now runs Syria. Yes, massacred.
2)
And the Sunni Muslims have been attacking the Druze from the outlying areas from getting close to Damascus to help their fellow brothers & sisters.
Roger Froikin @rlefraim wrote, "HERE IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE LIES FROM THE LEFT IN THE USA
Cory Booker, US Senator, attacked the Trump Budget proposals, not with fact, but with an outright lie.
1)
He claimed that Trump is promoting health on one hand while making that impossible on the other hand — Claiming that Trump is cutting SNAP. (Food stamps).
2)
The Trump Administration is NOT cutting SNAP. They are cutting the use of SNAP for unhealthy foods like soft drinks and candy, those things that have produced millions of obese children. HEALTHY FOODS HAVE NOT BEEN CUT AND WILL NOT BE.
