🚨 🧵Breaking: The Gaza-bound aid ship #Conscience was hit by drones in international waters just 17 nm off Malta—Israel’s blockade tactics have reached Europe’s doorstep. Full story👇
Eyewitness video shows two blasts that disabled the generator and set the deck on fire. All 16 passengers and crew survived after an SOS. Maltese rescue units are towing the ship to port. (AP)
2/6 Survivors and the #FreedomFlotilla Coalition say Israeli drones carried out the strike. Israel has remained silent. (Middle East Eye, ABC)
3/6 An intentional strike on a civilian aid ship in international waters violates the UN Charter, the Law of the Sea, and the Rome Statute, which prohibit attacks on humanitarian objects.
4/6 This attack fits a well-documented pattern: the use of force to block aid ships headed to Gaza—long before they reach its shores. Maritime relief has been targeted before. This isn’t the first time.
5/6 We demand an independent, transparent investigation under Maltese jurisdiction with United Nations participation. We demand immediate guarantees of safe maritime passage for humanitarian relief to Gaza. We demand accountability for those who ordered or executed this attack.
6/6 Anything less greenlights future assaults on lifesaving missions and deepens Gaza’s manufactured humanitarian catastrophe. States cannot claim neutrality while ignoring this crime.

🧵Euro-Med Monitor documented a sharp rise in adult death rates among residents of the #Gaza Strip, alongside alarming levels of child mortality, during the longest continuous total siege imposed by Israel since the beginning of its genocide campaign
The escalating famine in Gaza reached catastrophic proportions amid the ongoing, illegal total blockade imposed by Israel for 63 consecutive days, preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, medicines, and basic supplies.
Dozens of deaths have been reported from malnutrition or lack of medical care. The latest is a four-month-old infant, Jenan Saleh al-Skafi, who died of severe malnutrition at Al-Rantisi Hospital in western #Gaza City – amid what is called the worst campaign of systematic starvation in modern history.
🚨 Gaza is starving
After 45 days of total Israeli blockade, famine is no longer a risk, it’s becoming a reality.
🧵A thread on the unfolding man-made catastrophe and the urgent need for international action:
The Israeli blockade on Gaza has now entered its 46th day, the longest continuous restriction on aid since the start of Israel’s genocidal campaign 18 months ago.
The result: Gaza is on the brink of famine.
Euro-Med Monitor’s team in Gaza reports alarming indicators of severe food insecurity.
Basic food items like grains, proteins, and fats have nearly vanished. Most food infrastructure has been bombed or seized by Israeli forces.
When military dogs are weaponised for systematic abuse, who holds the leash?
Palestinian civilians in both #Gaza and the West Bank have been mauled, tortured, and terrorised by Israeli military dogs.
🧵 Netanyahu’s Hungary Visit and ICC Arrest Warrant
1️⃣ BREAKING: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to visit Hungary on April 2—despite an active ICC arrest warrant for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza. This visit poses a direct challenge to international justice—and Hungary is enabling his evasion of accountability.
2️⃣ Hungary is a State Party to the Rome Statute, which established the International Criminal Court. Under Articles 86 and 89 of the Statute, Hungary is legally bound to cooperate fully with the Court, including the arrest and surrender of any individual subject to an arrest warrant—such as Benjamin Netanyahu.
3️⃣ Hungary claims it is not required to comply with the ICC’s arrest warrant, arguing that it has not “promulgated” (i.e., formally incorporated) the relevant provisions of the Rome Statute into domestic law due to alleged constitutional concerns. However, this argument violates Hungary’s binding obligations under both the Rome Statute and general international law.
🧵The international community’s inaction regarding Israel’s heinous crimes in the #Gaza Strip over the past 18 months is a disgraceful failure.
It serves as a de facto endorsement of further massacres and genocide, facilitating the mass killing of Palestinians and the systematic destruction of their means of subsistence.
Despite Israel’s excuses, the systematic patterns of mass murder, forced starvation, deliberate deprivation of essential survival resources, and destruction of #Gaza’s infrastructure are unequivocally unacceptable.
Under the UN Genocide Convention, these acts are classified as genocide and war crimes.
Any attempt to disguise these crimes as security concerns or military necessities is a blatant deception meant to conceal genocide.
These actions are aimed at eradicating Palestinians in #Gaza, and such defenses cannot change the legal reality.
The international community must act swiftly to hold those responsible accountable.
