🧵(1/5) Buckle up, this an extremely serious thread about the allegedly non-biased entity Committee to "Protect" Journalists (CPJ) @pressfreedom and its disgusting complicity in the mass killings of Palestinian journalists:
Despite it being the worst crime committed against journalists in history, CPJ continues to cast doubt on Palestinian figures and underestimates the number of journalists killed, despite accurate and fully documented evidence of each journalist’s murder by Palestinians.
Instead of condemning Israeli mass murder and the direct targeting of journalists, CPJ has now chosen to post about freedom of press under Hamas rule instead. On their page. they also frame the false figures as a result of both Hamas and Israeli attacks on journalists.

👇(2/5) In its article about Hamas's suppression of speech, CPJ quotes journalist Ibrahim Mohareb about how Hamas affects his freedom of speech. Ironically, Ibrahim has already been murdered by an Israeli tank in August 2024, a fact documented even on their own website.
There is no mention that Ibrahim has already been murdered by Israel for his coverage of events, and the article instead focuses on how Hamas suppressed his voice. A dead body doesn't have ANY voice.

👇(3/5) In their 2023 Global Impunity Index, CPJ @pressfreedom makes no mention of Israel whatsoever, despite them having already killed dozens of journalists by the end of 2023. They conveniently count figures up to September 2023.
👇(4/5) For its 2024 Impunity Index, CPJ @pressfreedom ranks Israel as number 2 in the world using obscure language that tries to downplay Israeli crimes:
"CPJ has documented the murder of five journalists – four Palestinian and one Lebanese – since the war began, and is investigating the possible targeted murders of 10 more journalists."
CPJ only references what it itself has documented, deliberately ignoring the rest.

It is clear that is a biased entity and should not be trusted when it comes to the issues of Palestinian journalists.
