People keep saying the right can't be woke because wokeness denies objective reality, and the right doesn't deny science and biology the way the left does.

A number of the same people who rail against "sexual degeneracy," and have said such behavior is disqualifying, have turned right around and locked arms to protect Glen Greenwald after a tape emerged of him engaging in sex acts with an apparent a meth pipe in the background....
This is where relativism gets into the right.
Either "sexual degeneracy" is disqualifying or it isn't. Once you say "sexual degeneracy disqualifies our enemies but not our friends" you have lost you ability to make objective judgements about what is true.

If we begin to make judgements about what is true or good on the basis of whether or not people agree with us, we are well on our way to exact sort of relativism that the left engages in when they deny objective biological differences between men and women...
For my part, I can say that Glen's behavior raises very serious questions about his judgement, and the behavior he engaged in is obviously immoral by the standards of Christian morality I subscribe to. However, that doesn't mean everything he says is automatically false...
This is because I think the truth of a claim is not dependent on the political beliefs or the personal behavior of the person who makes the claim.
Truth is truth no matter who says it; that's what makes truth OBJECTIVE...it doesn't matter who says it: truth is truth.

Once we begin thinking that "this claim is must be taken seriously because the regime is trying to censor it" rather then saying "this claim is true because it accurately describes the world" we are already adopting the relativism that leads to denying science and biology...
If we continue to judge the truth of claims by asking "whose agenda is being advanced, whose interests are served, and who benefits?" and then deciding truth on the basis of who benefits we will continue to tumble towards relativism.
The mistake is in thinking that truth is downstream of political values. That is a mistake.
Truth *IS* a value, and I would argue it is the fundamental value by which all other values are judged. If we forget that we are going to end up every bit as lost as the left.
