Creating new rules and procedures will achieve nothing. The abuses of power that did take place, at the time, were blatantly unconstitutional and completely illegal, and those in power did not care.

Scolding them in public won't fix that. They have to be punished, at a bare minimum, with prison time.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay If you can't get that to happen, then what are your hearings other than publicity stunts, and a waste of the limited time Congress has to get its work done, during the course of any given year?

The Republicans are as guilty in this affair as the Democrats. Who doesn't know this?

Anything less would set a dangerous, republic-wrecking precedent.

But we know this won't happen.

Cuomo) would take a coup. Too many powerful people with too many favors to call in for that to work.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay But in its folly, out of a childish obsession with its own talking points, the Republican Party allowed that view to become dated.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay First, it allowed news media outlets to be consolidated, placing a higher value on Reagan-era talking points about the evils of governmental regulation, then on that which was making representative government at all stable.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay When the masses were getting their news and their talking points from a handful of newspaper and TV station owning conglomerates, the formation of huge, nation straddling factions became as easy as waiting for the people to turn on their TV sets.

One that was hard to talk about without others shouting one down, such was the level of well crafted fanaticism arising.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay The Internet COULD have offered a remedy to this problem, by undermining the control of the few over the information provided to the many, but when the online mobs that gathered decided to shut down any dissent with their own brands of Orthodoxy, what happened?

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay The Left fought to censor the words of those it was losing arguments to, and the Right couldn't (or wouldn't) get past its own talking points about letting "private businesses" do whatever they want.

Even when it threatened the basis of our liberty.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay Both of the major parties cater to the sort of people one finds at a political demonstration - loudmouths with a love of repetitively shouting slogans, while pushing oversimplified, unexamined ideas.

Both are beyond redemption, and both need to go.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay But this won't happen, because under the system we have, for a third party to find its way into the oval office or into Congress is a near impossibility.

No run off elections.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay Even if 70% of the electorate wanted to see both of the current major parties go away forever, the third party vote would be so divided, that Republicans and Democrats would still be elected.

So, we're stuck with censorious Democrats and useless Republicans.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay The real solution to this problem, Senator Paul, is not for sensible people to forget themselves, and put their faith in the empty promises of men like you. It is for them to remember the things that they heard, in spite of the best efforts of others.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay Wait for the cities to reform, and for genuine civil liberties and the Rule of Law to be found in them, and one will be disappointed. But one can remember the many rural sheriffs who defied their governors, openly (and rightly) doing so on constitutional grounds.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay That's the real solution to the problem - those of us who would be free should vote with our feet, move to places where genuine freedom survived, and bring our families and businesses with us.

Let states like Illinois, California and New York wither away.

@SenRandPaul @FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino @SecKennedy @NIHDirector_Jay Success is to be found, not through somehow reversing the currents of History, but by riding with them and veering off to somewhere where one would not mind being. Through diversion, not through a frontal assault.

How can a leader of men not know that?

Comes to the same thing, either way. Our salvations will come individually, through our own choices, not from waiting on people like you to act.
