1/6 Finlandization 2.0?

When watching Western leaders interact with Trump, it’s hard not to get Finlandization vibes.

Not toward the USSR this time—but toward the US.

Are we entering Finlandization 2.0, where the West bends to Trump’s chaos instead of standing firm? Image
2/6 Trump, like Putin, is a classic schoolyard bully:

He pushes the weak, but backs down when faced with strength.

Iran said no—now he’s offering them money.

Canada, trade wars, Putin—every time someone stood firm, he backed off.

Appeasement only feeds him Image
3/6 Yet Western leaders keep tiptoeing around him.

Rutte’s messages were posted by Trump to mock him.

Stubb and many other European leaders speak of Trump with caution that feels eerily familiar to Cold War-era Finland.

We know who Trump is—and still act like he rules us Image
4/6 Trump is pro-russian, anti-West, and destabilizing.

He weakens alliances, empowers authoritarians, and accelerates the decline of the US hegemony.

And yet…we let him decide Europe’s fate with Putin.

Why are we so afraid to say no? Image
5/6 Appeasement has its strategic uses—but bullies don’t respect it.

They exploit it.

Ukraine appeased russia for years—got invaded in 2014.

I am not saying every Western leader should confront Trump all the time.

But sometimes, someone has to say no Image
6/6 After nearly a decade of appeasing Trump, maybe it’s time to try something else.

Not everywhere, not always—but when he crosses the line. Often.

Because if we keep bending, we risk breaking.

And the West can’t afford to break Image

2/11 Viktor Orban

Hungary’s corrupt PM who called Trump-Putin talks a ”hallelujah” moment.

Still pushing for russia’s ”reintegration” in Europe—while mocking EU support for Ukraine.

A real traitor and shame to humanity.

One of the worst people in Europe’s history Image
3/11 John Mearsheimer

The academic who blamed NATO for ”provoking” russia.

Said Ukraine had no chance.

Regular guest on pro-russian propaganda shows.

Still giving lectures while Ukraine fights for its survival Image

A russian and iranian propaganda pipeline in a bowtie Image

1/5 They said there’d be no invasion. Then there was.

Then they blamed NATO and said Ukraine would fall in a few days.

They were wrong—again and again.

This is a thread about the loudest voices who got Ukraine completely wrong Image
2/5 They mocked warnings as hysteria.

They said russia was bluffing.

Then tanks rolled in.

They blamed NATO for provoking.

Then said Ukraine would fall in a few days.

It didn’t.

Wrong at every step—and still talking Image
3/5 They parroted Kremlin lies:

❌ Ukraine caused the war
❌ russia just wants security
❌ Ukraine isn’t a country
❌ The West is using Ukraine
❌ russia is just defending the Donbas
❌ russia is taking out US biolabs in Ukraine

All lies. Repeated by Western traitors Image

1/11 Many think the war in Ukraine is a tie.

But strategically, Ukraine is much closer to achieving its initial strategic goals than russia is.

Here’s why Ukraine is closer to winning—and why russia is facing one of the biggest military failures in modern history Image
2/11 In war, success is measured by strategic objectives.

russia’s initial strategic goals were ”denazification and demilitarization,” meaning regime change, turning Ukraine into a satellite state, and installing a pro-russian puppet as its leader Image
3/11 That’s why russia lauched a full-scale invasion targeting Kyiv in early 2022—hoping for a quick collapse.

It failed.

Ukraine remains sovereign, democratic, and under Zelensky.

russia is now way further from reaching its strategic goals than it was in March 2022 Image

1/5 How unreliable can russia be?

It’s abandoning another partner—this time, Iran.

Just like it did with Armenia, Assad, the RSF in Sudan, and the junta in Myanmar.

russia talks a big game about loyalty.

But when things get tough, it disappears Image
2/5 Iran gave russia drones. Training. Know-how.

In return? Silence.

Iran is getting hit—and russia is doing nothing.

No support. No deterrence.

Just like Armenia. Just like Syria. Just like Sudan. Just like Myanmar. Just like always Image
3/5 russia loves to say the US is a selfish ally.

But russia is way worse.

It bleeds its partners dry—then leaves them to burn.

In Syria and across Africa, it took resources and influence.

But when the fire starts, it runs Image

1/5 Mearsheimer said NATO provoked russia.

He claimed Putin didn’t want Ukraine.

Now Putin says Ukraine is russia.

Mearsheimer wasn’t just wrong—he gave cover to a war of conquest Image
2/5 His ”realism” only sees russian interests.

No room for Ukraine’s sovereignty.

No respect for its people’s choices.

That’s not realism. That’s imperial nostalgia in disguise Image
3/5 He mocked Ukraine’s resistance.

Ignored russia’s failures.

Dismissed Ukrainian voices.

His predictions didn’t just miss—they erased reality Image
